I was the same way, the art style kept me from watching it for a long time. I only started watching it in mid May but ended up binging it in a week. The art style is actually fitting in a weird way and quickly grew on me

Totally understandable about the art style. For myself who grew up in 80s/90s anime. It reminds me of that nostalgic astroboy animation. And even the story has that nostagic wholesome adventure feel that you don't really see now a days.

I can't wrap my head around how many people complained about the art style of this anime. To me it is so refreshing to see something so different and vibrant and creative in a sea of repetitiveness that it immediately makes me want to check it out. Like, do people really love that blend and generic anime art style and character design that you see in every damn shitty show everywhere all that much? I don't get it.

It's just not my personal style. I'm not a fan of the simplistic kid show style. I appreciate stuff that's crispy and super HQ a lot more 🤷‍♀️ reading the comments it seems a lot of people generally agree the art style's a major stopper for watching this but once you get passed it it's cool. Yes 😂 I do love the generic anime art style that's why I watch it so much

Personally in terms of art style I find shows like Ousama Ranking, Mob Psycho 100 and AOT a breath of fresh air. I can see why people would shy away from alternative art syles but to me shows that use a safe art styles feel bland. Having dabbled in animation I've also found that I tend to appreciate motion more. Art styles like these allow for liberal use of squash and stretch which in turn results in smoother and more organic animation. It is however an acquired taste

I don't judge people who prefer Dub over Sub but I do JUDGE people who avoids series like Mob Psycho and Ranking of Kings because it's not 'cute'. But thank God, Japanese creators don't care for Western ideals about how Animation should look like.
