Should be more than one in top tier. Collingwood and Essendon is a brutal rivalry and Hawthorn and Essendon is always a good watch unfortunately haven't seen any brawls since abut 2015 but a fierce rivalry nonetheless

Being a Sydney fan, you’re definitely right that we all hate Collingwood much more than GWS. Obviously we still want to smash the giants but we also want to grow footy in NSW. Which is helped if we are both good. Also I reckon u missed out a Sydney - Geelong rivalry that’s been quite big since the start of the century. Two very consistently good teams.

Dons v blues goes back to the early 1950’s. Blues FullBack whacked John Coleman in the nuts and then Coleman knocked him out and got suspended for the GF. Essendon lost by a goal to Geelong. Essendon have hates the blues ever since

I bloody hate the tiges and cannot stand their fans as well as that we pack out the mcg a lot with huge crowds and a great atmosphere. West Coast Collingwood definitely a rivalry. Many close finals and games. Its not that heated, but close. WC Sydney huge in the mid 00s. I'd also argue Showdown might be the most spiteful rivalry. Its almost like Port vs the rest of SA (the whole history of how Port and the Crows entered the AFL, the SANFL stuff, Norwood etc). Games usually close, close h2h. Derby is more one sided historically.
