Aurora is the most underrated vocalist around. She should be selling millions, and she is growing in the eyes of many, as people become exposed to her. She has at least two-dozen really good original works, and she is almost always better live. My favorite of hers is the Nidarosdomen performance of Lucky (or Murder Song, from that same venue), but there are lots of really good performances. She absolutely kills in small studios, like KEXP (It Happened Quiet, Churchyard, God is a Woman [cover], Teardrop [cover]). A truly unique Norwegian performer who is slowly rising to massive exposure on world stages. She is such a strong vocalist that her stripped Vivo version of Through the Eyes of a Child is the best a cappella song I have ever heard. The only non-live video worth seeing of her is The Seed, which ought to be required viewing by every citizen of the planet. AURORA - Lucky (Live at Nidarosdomen) - KZbin

Aurora is 26 now. She was about 18 at the time of the video. Fun facts about the Runaway Music Video: It was shot late autumn 2014 and winter 2014/2015. She was 18 at this time. She wrote Runaway at the age of 11-12 and finalized it at the age of 14 (for a school project, as she mentioned in an interview). The parts, where she wears the furry top are shot at the west coast of the Drange peninsula, less than a mile away from her parents house. The parts in the forest were shot in the same forest where she played as a kid, less than half a mile away from her parents house. The parts, in which she wears a thin white cardigan and with some trees in the near background and the island of Lysøya in the background, are shot actually in the backyard of her parents house in Drange. Aurora is, even according to her childhood friends who've known her a long time, a truly magical creature. She feels deep and her music flows through her as she moves to the music. Her hand movements are like she's conjuring magic as she sings. She is truly something special. BTW, Billie Eilish credits her as being one of her inspirations. I had never heard of her either until I heard Billie Eilish mention her. So I looked her up and was just blown away. No matter your cultural background it's hard not to fall in love with her and her music. There's such a pure innocence about her music that transcends languages and culture.

Very good reaction. She is from Norway And her name is Aurora Aksnes and her artist name is just AURORA :). She is very natural and talented songwriter, singer, coproducer and even composer (she learned f.e. to play piano). When you her her song = she wrote it. She has no formal education and just made music as a kid (even for first years it was a secret for a parents). She started making music >=6 and English lyrics from >=9. She has a ton of great songs and performances:). Hope for more reactions from her. I guess you already have some recommendations. But on that list I would put "Lucky" live from Nidarosdomen (she started to write it when was 9), if you want to something also with electronic instruments (like in Runaway) then check "Running with the Wolves" official video (but you can also find live versions acoustic or with different instruments and it is always cool :) ), then something from KEXP 2018 like "All is soft inside" and ""Churchyard" and then something from Honda Stage, f.e. "I went to far". And then more as she still has so many great ones :P.

"Speaking with the American radio station 101WKQX in 2019, Billie Eilish spoke at length about the catalyst in her musical life and how a switch flicked on after watching a music video that lit a fire in her belly that’s still burning bright today. “I grew up on so many artists, I feel like the moment was when I was sitting on my bed when I was like 12,” Eilish recalls. “I’d already started writing music, I just did it for no reason kinda, I just had a lot of things I needed to say, and I didn’t know how to say them, but I remember sitting on my bed when I was like 12 or 11. I was surfing KZbin as you do, and there was this little video called ‘Runaway’ by Aurora, and I had no idea what that was, no idea what the song was, but the thumbnail looked cool, so I clicked on it. “Then I remember just sitting there, and the intro played. I was like, ‘Oh, so that’s what I wanna do,’ and then immediately I was just in love with that, the whole idea,” she added from the heart."

Aurora Aksnes (born 15 June 1996),[2][3] known mononymously as Aurora (stylized in all caps),[4] is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, dancer and record producer. Born in Stavanger and raised in the towns of Høle and Os, she began writing her first songs and learning dance at the age of six. After some of her songs were uploaded online and became popular in Norway, she signed a recording contract with Petroleum Records, Decca and Glassnote Records[5] in 2014. Aurora gained recognition with her debut extended play (EP), Running with the Wolves (2015), which contained the sleeper hit "Runaway". Later that year, she provided the backing track for the John Lewis Christmas advert, singing a cover of the Oasis song "Half the World Away". Aurora's debut studio album, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend (2016) received generally positive reviews, charting in various European countries and earning platinum certification two times in Norway. Her second EP Infections of a Different Kind (Step 1) (2018) was the first part of a two-part album, which the second part was her second studio album, A Different Kind of Human (Step 2) (2019). Her third studio album The Gods We Can Touch was released on 21 January 2022. Her music is primarily electropop, folk, and art pop with vocals referred to as "ethereal". At the beginning of her career she only played piano but was later involved in percussion and other aspects of the production of her music. In addition to her solo work, Aurora has collaborated and co-written songs for other artists including, Icarus, Askjell, Lena, Travis and The Chemical Brothers. She also contributed in soundtracks for several movies and series such as Girls, Frozen II and Wolfwalkers.

I'm again gonna have to add "Wardruna and Aurora - Helvegen (live) here, imo a piece of culture that should never be lost! Then i have been hoping for a shared first reaction or discussion between u and LFR FAMILY on your thoughts about "Aurora - Murder song [54321] live at nobel peace prize concert" and i think ud enjoy "Aurora - the seed" (one of the few i like the vid better than live, tho the haik version gets close) any version is mindblowing anyway in case u like links Helvegen - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJ_Ohah-hZ6kadE Murder song - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJmThIqKi9yLrtk The seed - kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX7GkIKDatSBd5o

Incredible performance. You know you got a real artist when they sound live even better than on recordings:-)

Watch her live. You need to hear her talk to the audience.
