Thank you. You probably saved me a lot of frustration and definitely a good bit of money. I hadn't even heard of this stylus before watching your SP7 video, which brought me here to learn more. You've been very informational for my upcoming purchase of a drawing tablet.

What is that XP-Pen button device to the left of the screen. How much does it cost?
@MichaelClaridaArts3 жыл бұрын

@chaniboy3 жыл бұрын
Great video, are you able to program the buttons? On the surface pen I have 1 eraser click open one note, and two clicks do a screenshot. I use these two commands a lot for school. I also like being able to right click with the pen. If the Raphael cant be programmed the same, I can always use it for drawing only and the surface pen for school.
@MichaelClaridaArts3 жыл бұрын
The button is not programmable as far as I can tell. I use a quick key remote so I use that for all the quick stuff. The front button I believe is the hand/move button in Photoshop and the back is the eraser. I did miss the eraser. The reason to get the stylus is the drawing experience and the pressure curve. Very good.

how do you protect the screen of your surface pro 7? will the raphael damage your screen?
@MichaelClaridaArts3 жыл бұрын
The stylus has a rubber tip. Additionally...the sp7 is designed for a stylus so it has a coating on the glass. A screen protector is good...but really not needed to protect from the stylus. Very hard glass.

How well does this pen cooperate with the magnetic holder?
@MichaelClaridaArts3 жыл бұрын
Not great. I don’t use the mag holder…never have. I put cases on my machines and they have pen holders. The mag holder always made me nervous.

Does a glass screen protector affect the drawing ability of the pen or cause less responsiveness overall??
@MichaelClaridaArts3 жыл бұрын
Not that I can tell.
@ThinBear42 жыл бұрын
Depends on the kind of protector. The one I bought at first was pretty horrible, an had an inconsistent friction over its surface. One part of the screen would feel like dragging a rubber over glass, somewhere else would be like skimming a knife over ice surface. It was all but impossible to draw. Then I've switched over to a paper-like protector, tailor made for drawing and it's awesome.

Hi! I bought the Raphael 530 pen. In general, the pen works well. I tried it on different software: 1) in windows WhiteBoard the eraser works too. 2) in Gimp and in Krita the eraser does not work. None of the Software I have tried recognizes the pen tilt. How can I enable the eraser in all software? How can I activate the pen tilt?
@MichaelClaridaArts2 жыл бұрын
Hi...I am not sure about the 530...as I use the 520 stylus. I presume they are similar. What type of computer are you using. Some machine do not support tilt. I have just recently used my 520 on the Surface laptop studio and it worked great. I would not know how to change the settings on the 530. You can contact the people at Rennasier and see if they have suggestions on your issues. Michael

@@MichaelClaridaArts Thanks a lot for the answer. I use surface pro 8. Did you have to change any settings to activate the inclination of the 520 pen? What software recognizes tilt and pressure?

I see that you've been doing a lot of Surface products lately... Does that mean that you have stopped using your Zbook? If so, may I ask why? I've been trying to decide between a few different laptops and was set on the Zbook. But now that you seem to have gone more with the Surface devices lately, I may have to take a closer look at them. I thought that the n-trig tech was garbage, but it looks like it works really well for you.
@MichaelClaridaArts3 жыл бұрын
Actually...I have sold the Zbook...and all the surface devices. I am looking to upgrade in a bit and am raising money. I do regret selling the Zbook....but computers are always getting better. Either way...win win. The ntrig tech is better with the Raphael stylus. But I will always love my Zbook.

@@MichaelClaridaArts But it looks like it has a pretty fat point in images/videos I've seen, so how does that work? It is actually capable of drawing hair-thin lines, and does it really feel like that's what you're doing when moving it around?

@@inceptional yes…the Apple Pencil is great. No parallax…and the screen is bonded. Great feel. Go to an Apple store and try it out. Great experience. I have tried all the tech. Apple is great. However, the IPad is the flaw. It does not run full versions of the programs. It is a giant iPhone. If you want a pro level machine….get a all in one. The new Surface pro machines are great.
