@evangelinebelami8716 Romance first, sex second. Girls didn't give themselves so easily and there was there was a lot more censorship in the media. When you think that records like Je T'aime and Let's Spend the Night Together were banned by the BBC and compare those with today's filth that's allowed. And look how today's female pop stars dress...or don't dress!

I am a Baby Boomer and we grew up with the Bee Gees singing to us during our teens. We are now YOUR grandmothers who offer solid advice, love, and support. When you mentioned you were really digging country music, this is not surprising to me. Life tends to make you like the music that means something for you....country music speaks to life and experience. If you continue with some good country music....not this modern stuff posing as country music...your station will continue to grow as us BOOMERS will become your family and send you suggestions for things you missed and you should now hear. Love to you, young man. We love seeing you experience our "MUSIC."

"OK, Boomer." 😊 Just kidding. I'm Gen X. We get the least love , but it's all good. Gen X is the middle child of Boomers and Millennials. But I'm an older Xer. I was born in 68. I remember growing up on Beegees. I was a little kid, but I still remember the music of the 70s. It's comforting and reminds me of happy childhood times. I'm glad that I was a kid when things were less complicated. This is beautiful music. I can lay back and relax, close my eyes, and just feel good. Happy day.

The Bee Gees impact on music is undeniable. They not only have written some of the most iconic songs (including this one) for themselves but for so many artists, including Barbara Streisand, Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Elton John, Andy Gibb, Frankie Valli just to name a few. Often times labeled as a disco band due to their huge success during that era but they were making hits in the 60's and until the 90's with their last album being made on 2001. Whatever they seemed to touch turned to gold.

Thanks so much for your reaction. The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZ_MiYaebNuKiKs Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXnCm2xmm6h8oZY, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJerhoZrgstjZrM. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4Wcp4V-iLyBmM0. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXKXdHykedOHoZo. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2eVeJ93etWZqLs. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3zHc4mBmLiGidk which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWewg2B7lLatsJI And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg

You are in for a treat if you never heard this. Growing up, hated disco and hated the Bee Gees, but you grow up and realize how great these guys were. The problem back in the days, We talking 40 plus years ago. The radio only played the songs in the shortest way possible, but then you hear the real songs on an album and realized just how much you missed. Disco Inferno is a great example. A 4 minute song on the radio, but a 9 minute song on the album. The good ol days,

More: Again, I Love your Bee Gee reactions The Bee Gees were more than just disco! I’m not sure if you’ve reacted to any of these, but here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under: Too Much Heaven (R&B) (you reacted to already) How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard) (you reacted to already) Staying Alive (disco) Night Fever (disco) You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco) Fanny be tender with my love (R&B) Jive Talking (R&B) Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk) Tragedy (Techno? Pop) More than a woman (Disco/R&B) Love you inside out (Funk/pop) To love somebody (R&B) Massachusetts (pop/country) Alone (pop) Lonely Days (pop) You Win Again (pop) Run to Me (pop) How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B) Kiss of Life (rock) Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country) Bodyguard (R&B) The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor) Some that only the avid Bee Gee fans might know that you might want to react to: My Lover’s Prayer (pop ballard) Letting Go (pop ballard) Subway (R&B) You Stepped Into My life (Funk/r&b) Children of the World (pop) Search, Find (pop or R&B) Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung), alone or with his brothers (Robin &!Maurice Gibb): If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). In fact, Gibb wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs. Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons). In fact, Barry wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, Barry wrote every song on this CD too. The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) and yes, Barry wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals. Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees also sung background. More Than a Woman (Tavares) Love Me (Yvonne Elliman) Come on Over (Olivia Newton John) Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it. Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli) Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer) Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;)

Talking about satin pants when he walks out reminds me of Shaun Cassidy. He was a teen idol and the satin pants were "in" then. He sang and was in the tv show The Hardy Boys. You should watch him. After retirung from 40 years he has done a little touring over the past couple of years. His biggest hits were Da Doo Ron Ron, That's Rock and Roll and Hey Deanie, a bunch of others. Just about every girl had a crush on him, posters, magazines and so on. He writes and produces tv shows now. You go to his concerts now and you wouldn't believe how 50 year old women feel 10 or so all over again. He was from a famous family. His father Jack Cassidy was an actor and singer, his mother, Shirley Jones, was on Broadway and made musicals on film. She was on the Partridge Family as the mother and David Cassidy, Shaun's half brother, was in that show. Check him out.

In my opinion, Too Much Heaven is the Bee Gees at their very best, but this is a close second. But you might want to go back and listen to some of their early stuff before the falsetto. I discovered them way back in those days. Have loved them ever since. By the way, Barry, the lead singer, is the oldest and he's been married to his wife for more than 50 years. He's also the only one left. Andy was the youngest and died first, at age 30. Maurice died in 2003, I think, and Robin in 2012.

I love watching this journey you're on, discovering the music that encompassed my youth maybe old but its timelessly amazing. The Bee Gees were masterful in lyrics and harmonies. And yes, Barry and Andy were "the beautiful" brothers. I had Andy's album and poster, you know the typical teenage girl thang. I was truly heartbroken when he died. You need to check out some other classic oldies harmonies like the Mamas and the Papas California Dreamin', the Righteous Brothers You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin', the Carpenters Rainy Days and Mondays and Fleetwood Mac's the Chain. If you've already hit any of these and I missed it, my apologies but maybe one will "make the playlist".

One of my favorite Bee Gees songs is More than a woman! Always makes me think of one of my favorite movies from the 80s called Short Circuit! #Johnny5isalive

This is a pure love song, nothing more. It is from Saturday night fever. Many of the songs from that movie were written by the Bee Gees.

I think this song was in the movie Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta. I actually got to see it in the movie theater when it was first released. I felt very grown up, as it was my first Rated R movie I saw. I was 14. The Bee Gees did the soundtrack for that movie.❤

They originally wrote Islands in the Stream as an R'n'b song for Marvin Gaye but they changed it and it became a hit duet for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.😁

Agree with you- Too Much Heaven is still #1 for me. Love this one though. To me, Robin in the 70s ( wearing the vest here) is equally as adorable as Barry ( lead singer in this video) is handsome. But Barry is gorgeous in all decades!!❤ However Robin's voice is my favorite!! I love them all. Please react to Robin leading in "I Cant See Nobody" Melbourne 1974 Live concert. It is classic soulful rock. Also: Love You Inside Out - so funky!!❤❤❤

I love the Brothers Gibb. So many great songs. Try Fanny Be Tender, Alone, You Win Again, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Massachusetts, Nights On Broadway, Jive Talking, New York Mining Disaster, Words , I Started A Joke, To Love Somebody, oh there are way too many to list. I think the song they wrote for Diana Ross, Chain Reaction, is the raunchiest song they wrote. Mo was aging like a fine wine, check him out in late nineties, early 00's.
