Please continue your Bee Gees journey with something from before their Disco Falsetto era for comparison. They started singing together as toddlers! Robin & Maurice are fraternal twins & Barry the big brother. Little brother, Andy, sang with them for a little while, but went solo. His untimely death highly effected them. 😢 But these 3 know each other as though they're one person & their music, timing & harmonies demonstrate that. I saw them live in 1976. They were totally AWESOME! ❤

On Saturday nights high school kids and their friends would get in their Camaros, Mustangs and whatever cars they had ( I had a 1970 Camaro), head to downtown Denver and cruise around a certain couple of blocks over and over again blasting music from their radios and if they saw friends from their high school, shouting and having a fun being out! @@kenhito - That doesn't even take into account several solo LP's released by Robin, primarily with the writing and production assistance of Maurice. Those were very popular in Europe ("Juliet" was #1 in several countries) and Australia but not played in the US due to the "disco" backlash. Robin's last LP released after he died had some absolutely profound and beautiful songs (done without brother Maurice who had died) as well as the orchestral "Titanic Requiem" which was played by the National Philharmonic in London. Even Robin's first solo composition "I am the world" was pretty spectacular for a 15 year old. Barry said Robin was a great composer and lyricist and Robin said he was lucky to be born into the same family as his brothers. Maurice was the musician of the group who put his brothers' lyrics and melodies to music and was the vital third harmony. He is too often ignored. They were a team including when writing for other artists.

@@RuthBair-ht1fj yeah Mo does a good job but the falsetto ad libs dont go on for as long and is not anything like the recording. There is no live recording of Fanny at all. The one you are thinking of is simply a music video, shot the same time as Jive Talkin. The sound quality is poor and it doesn't show who sings what parts accurately. Fanny had so many layers that it was difficult for them to sing their parts so the 3 just all sang all of it whether it was their parts or not. There was a tendency to do this in the 70s with music videos so with this one in particular the audio should only be reacted to.

@@JeanetteFaith its lip synced as all music videos are. There are 9 layers in this song creating 27 voices. We are hearing the already recorded audio. It seriously amazes me that people think any part of this is live, this is not how music is recorded. It is simply a promotional video and all is staged. Here is something I copied from the internet regarding the recording: The recording process was the longest of all the tracks on Spirits Having Flown as there are nine layers of three-part harmony, creating 27 voices, though the high falsetto voices are the most pronounced in the final mix:[6] Barry on falsetto lead three times falsetto high harmony three times falsetto low harmony three times Barry on natural voice lead three times high harmony three times low harmony three times Barry, Robin and Maurice together on lead three times high harmony three times low harmony three times[6] Imbued with their falsetto style, it is also notable for being one of two songs on the album featuring the Chicago horn section

The FOO FIGHTERS did a tribute to the Bee Gee's They Called themselves the DEE GEE'S. It's not a joke, and they did a good job taking it serious instead of making a parody .

Every penny from this song went to charity!! They write the songs together! The Bee Gees wrote over 400 songs. IN ONE DAY they wrote, Tragedy, Too Much Heaven and Shadow Dancing!

Gen X here. Growing up we'd go to Headbangers ball but when we were chilling out it was definitely this stuff. This song is so beautiful. Not just their voices but the words. We grew up with the best music. Grateful. Definitely bring that dancing back. Go outside hiking and then go dancing. Be social in person!

they were born on the isle of man which is a small british island off the coast of britain. they went to australia for 10yrs when they were young where they had some success.they then moved back to the british mainland eventually moving to the US. barry is the eldest and the only living one.robin on the left sang some leads and was 2nd lead on the other songs.maurice on the right is robin's fraternal twin.he was married to scottish singer lulu who is still singing. andy was 11yrs younger which is why he wasn't in the group.his bros did help write and do backing vocals on some of his songs.he looks like a clean shaven blonde barry gibb. rip robin, maurice and andy.

The Brothers Gibb....a force in pop music for many decades. It truly stands the test of time. Great reaction all around but i like how you caught the way they weave the melody through their frequency and vibrato. Because they are brothers their vocals are tight.

Robin had a 5 octave range with a higher voice and Barry a 4 octave range. Falsetto is not considered part of a person's "natural" range though. Robin did falsetto in "Living together".

Their mum was a band singer, dad played in it. They also have an older sister Lesley who can fill in too. No formal music educarion, until already masters. As little kids in a room, they sounded like a radio to their mum. Barry's music instincts are spot on, he can sing 6 times in a row, note, inflection and timing exact. They learned falsetto existed doing Nights on Broadway in the Studio. Have you heard Jive Talking yet?

Also, their father was a big band leader back in England. Their mother was also a part of music. So they grew up listening to music. They themselves started harmonizing at the young ages of seven and nine. Definitely a lot of musical history here.
