Sad thing is, Maynerd said in interview that the album was finished completely in 2009 but, he didn't think it was really good enough so, self-doubt caused us to wait an extra 20 years for it. I think the album was done and being cursed for 10 years, & that's how they got every Top 10 spot on the day the album dropped. No other band has done that.

I remember getting up in the morning, getting ready for work, knowing new music from Tool was about to drop. A new single, after waiting, and waiting, and waiting for 13 years. I had my Bluetooth speaker set up, in the bathroom; and as I turned on the faucet, to take a shower, I heard those opening synthesizers, and then Adam's guitar swells. The attention and focus on what I was hearing was so intense; as if my life depended on not missing even a second. I remained in the hot shower for the duration of the song, just soaking in the hot water, bobbing my head up and down; eyes shut. I didn't even wash my hair or body. I just stood and listened. Once it was over, I finished bathing, and tried to process what I just heard. I wasn't exactly sure how to react to it. It was different. It was fresh. It was interesting. But I just wasn't sure what exactly I heard. Luckily, I work in a place that allows me to wear headphones while I do my job. I probably listened to this song 30 times the day it premiered, but it was maybe the third or fourth listen where I realized just how incredible it is. It's a ride 🔥🔥🔥

First off, I wanna give a shoutout to y’all for doing a real react video to Tool. I think a lot of people try to, but there’s a lot of density to their music all the way from the composition to the instrumentals and finally the lyrical content. Some people just can’t break it all down and y’all do an awesome job at that whereas other people come out at the end of the song and just say “that was lit” and leave it at that. As far as perfect/favorite Tool song mine has been H. since the first time I heard it on the radio. You can translate the lyrics to mean a million different things but to me (maybe just cause of my life at the time when I first heard it, it’s about an addiction. Specifically it resonates as a heroin addiction. Once again, it could be personal bias. I swear though, you can go through all the motions from that rush to the feel dirties and then a cleat headed reflection on darker days.

Tool is a band you look at and are just floored by how clearly you can see an evolution. From the first days of Maynard using music as a way to let out his frustration anger and sadness in the world back in '91, to now with music like Fear Inoculum and Lateralus exploring the steps beyond after you've overcome your own demons and vices. Truly a wonderful evolution to experience.

Inoculates are also used in gardening and wine making. Inoculates are used during seed germination to promote beneficial bacterial growth and to help in the fermentation process of wine and alcohol. Maynard is heavily into both farming and wine making. The reference “fear inoculum” might refer to a germination of fear in your mind and how the fear spreads like a contagion

Here is my updated list. I know you will cover them all so I just put them in a good order to space out the old and new. And again I think The Holy Trinity should be your grand finale. Please don't separate them. Thanks. -Crawl Away -Intention -Pushit (Album version) -Part of Me -Descending (Album Version) -Disgustipated -Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned -Hush -Culling Voices -Sweat -Eon Blue Apocalypse/The Patient -You Lied (Peach cover on Salival) -Vicarious -The Grudge -Intolerance -Undertow -Cold and Ugly/Jerk-Off -Parabol/Parabola -The Holy Trinity(Disposition/Reflection/Triad)

Rosetta Stoned also needs Lipan Conjuring included.
@jeke49774 жыл бұрын
@@jtrem08 I agree. I was going to include that one but when I went to update this list since last week I realized I forgot my pen. Thanks.

A Perfect Circle- Counting Bodies Like Sheep... There is a USMC Moto video floating around that goes along with that song and for a young Marine back in the day that song and video combo made all us young kids at that time harder than woodpecker lips!!!

Fun fact: at 5 mins and 10 seconds, exactly halfway through this track, Maynards says the word 'mitosis'.

Wow what a song eh, great reaction too! Also good choice leaving Parabol/parabola until the end. I still also suggest leaving Rosetta Stoned (combing with Lipan Conjuring and Lost Keys) until the end as well. You gotta leave a couple of their biggest hits to the end so It'll make for an epic close out. Also favourite Tool song: Lateralus. Why? Because like you guys have said, its the holy grail!! Invincible and 10,000 Days round out my top 3.

Remember, this song was the first new material tool fans he’s s in like 13 yrs. to say it was paradigm shifting is an understatement. I remember being overcome with nostalgia for days long gone.....

Inoculation gives you a resistance. The song is about becoming immune to fear through life experiences and learning to stop listening to the voices of doubt and fear that can hold you back.

Listening to Tool is like transcending time and space to a higher plain of existence. Also a great way of putting it. "With music this caliber, you see with your third eye."
