You either have to up the weight or do more with 315 to grow more. And upping the weight Will very likley get you injured and meanwhile doing 315 for 20 eventually is much safer But still making progress. If you workout only for looks, it's likely you will have hard time doing it, because your looks will not change over night. So the arguement is that if you will lose it all - then why look buff temporarily and not work on something which will stand after you die - like building an estate ;) . Do you see? Men who were about being successful thought long term and found that playing at being a body builder for a while is a waste of time - it only wasn't a waste of time for Arnold because he used it to get into movies and launch a career that outlasts body building.

If you stop working out and stop all kinds of physical activity, then yes, you will lose some muscle and gain fat, so, to the ignoramus, it may look like the muscle is turning into fat.

I've had to hammer this home to my dad lol. The reason people think this is because when people stop working out, they don't adjust their caloric intake to suit the decrease in physical activity so they enter a caloric surplus and this gain fat

It was Stallone who got me going to the gym because Rambo's physique seemed possible (it wasn't). Arnold just seemed like a god...

I've been working out for 3 and a half years on what could fairly be called a bodybuilding program but at a fairly low level. I'm not looking to compete. It's just about me maintaining health, fitness, and the ability to MOVE as a young man can, while I'm getting close to 60. It takes consistency, hard work, dedication, and discipline. All good traits for a person to have. I DO have to grow old. I DON'T have to grow feeble, and I'm making the effort to avoid doing exactly that. I wish to NEVER become physically dependent on other people to do what I can do for myself if I keep myself fit.

What a unique human. Almost doesn't seem human, too godlike.

It’s quite fascinating to see how people view things back in 1975.

Arnold came to US when he was 18, assuming he didn't know English until then... here he speaks better than native english speakers. This is why he is a legend.

Arnold's command of English almost seems better back then than now.

He had speech training to maintain his accent as its part of his image, you wonder why he never lost it during his decades in america.

I understand what he is saying but most body builders at least in media and the ones I encounter are completely narcissistic and Arnold himself was definitely no exception. I'm a fan but many people over the years have said unflattering things about him and I admit I'm sure many were jealous it happens to everyone on top.

Man this was the golden age. Aesthetic. Quality. Like works of individual art. Not just mass monster
@lycagos12783 жыл бұрын
this is how we know that the golden age body builders even if the era had some anabolics they didn't take much of them: they really liked women and "perform", in contrast to the anabolics of the next eras in which body builders didn't care about women and couldn't "perform"

When Arnold began working out and really wanted to get the hell out of Austria, he read many self motivation books which really gave him that incredibly positive outlook and perspective he still has.

Sometimes I wish we could go back to this; reasonable natural bodybuilding results. People often think they are not progressing, if they aren’t > 230lbs ripped, which leads ppl away from the real sport. This video displays what realistic natural results look like with hard work. They still look good too! IMO.
@joebloggs69223 жыл бұрын
They aren't natural here. However, i agree they look a lot better
@davepazz5803 жыл бұрын
The second guy they showed (who had only been training for 9 months) for sure was natural... the others were probably using a lot less stuff than what's typically used today.

Mi ex used to say that I’m a narcissist bc I used to look me in the mirror some times. I dumped her ass. It makes me angry until this day, only we know the grind, the struggle o bodybuilding, even more if you’re a natural bodybuilder. All the sacrifices, all the hard work. Meeen

Body building is simply about becoming better, inside to outside. A positive goal and mental focus along with dedication help you be a better you, because you learn who you are by simply losing what you dislike outside, which has an impact on your mind and heart. Depending on the individual it can make you happy with yourself, confident and knowledgeable about good health. The benefits can be countless.
