OpenArena plays on Pi4. Maybe even better than Pi5

As already said, doom runs on an oily rag pretty much. I ran Doom on my model B about 7 years ago and that wasnt impressive then

That ain’t it, chief.

My SanDisk Sansa MP3 player I got 10 years ago runs DOOM. It runs on ESP32. Try running it on a Roomba or something.

Why can't I run it on a Raspberry Pi?
@karm42yn10 ай бұрын
@@andyhu9542 no reason why you couldn't.

I think DOOM runs even on the ENIAC.
@andyhu954210 ай бұрын
I think the problem is that ENIAC is decimal, not binary, which means a total source code re-write (and other boring reasons such as RAM size and speed).

But can it run Doom whilst using ML to learn to play Doom? ;)
@andyhu954210 ай бұрын
I guess not. Given enough time, of course. Doom costs little to no RAM and LLMs has been demonstrated running on an 8GB Pi. But considering the speed at which tokens are generated, it would take days to finish a stage. However, a less general type of AI may learn much faster and maybe even do it in real time, but I certainly lack the knowledge to program one.
