Really liked this Rat video. I helped my Brother scope and sight in his .177 pellet rifle just a few weeks ago. He was having Squirrels getting too comfortable on his house and deck. Now he's not the outdoors type like me, so I had to give him some shooting pointers. He's turned into a Demon with that weapon! LOL He's polished off 3 squirrels and 2 raccoons with that little set up. I think he is hooked. Thanks for sharing!!

I'm looking into the same setup doing similar work, FX M3 .25, 500mm What is the practical range on the thermal for this size animal?
@RJMHuntingAustralia Жыл бұрын
I shoot my .22 cal out to 50m comfortably on rats. Rabbits out to 100m. Further if you're using slugs
@ScoundrelzNTwK Жыл бұрын
@@RJMHuntingAustralia Would you be comfortable taking a shot at a pigeon at say 75 with the thermal? No limitations as for as the scope is concerned? Thank you for your help.
@RJMHuntingAustralia Жыл бұрын
Walk in the park for the thermal. I shoot rabbits at 200m with it on my .223 The limitations will be more so with the calibre and type of rifle you are shooting, not the thermal if you buy quality
@ScoundrelzNTwK Жыл бұрын
@@RJMHuntingAustralia Thanks for answering, I'll be ordering the same thermal. Maybe I'll have to throw it on my .308 to see how far I can go with it. I'll never go over 75 with the FX, gotta run pellets because of ricochets.

are you swapping scopes between rifles and re zero them each time or does the trail 2 return to zero ?

Without the thermal scope ur looking at about 5k au. Add another 7k to 8k for the scope.

I might've written this before on here but in case I haven't there was this rat channel on KZbin where if you commented and listed someone that has pissed you off - boss, ex, workmates so on so forth and you mentioned their first their name, next vid he'd assign a rat he was about to shoot with that persons name and add some cold blooded narration like Doc Holliday said to Ringo after he ventilated his head in Tombstone. It was hilarious. I can't remember what channel it was but!

Nicely done! I've killed over 200 rats in my backyard over the last 2 years using everything from a Benjamin Marauder .22 bolt action with an ATN Thor4 thermal to a semi/full auto Hatsan Blitz .22 with the ATN or HALO thermal to a semi/full auto .25 cal LCS SK 19 with ATN and Halo thermal. The LCS .25 puts them down immediately but is a little overpowered for a neighborhood. IMO a .22 LCS SK 19 with a HALO thermal is ideal. The .22 Hatsan Blitz is a great option for less money but you can't add a suppressor. If you want to be suppressed pay up for an LCS. Just put out a few bird Feeders and the rats will show up at night.
