The issue with Greenwood is the fact that we’ve all seen/heard the videos and recordings, so we know for a fact he did try those things because we’ve seen the evidence. If it was just allegations and then the case was dropped without the videos, we would all be like “innocent until proven guilty”, but because we’ve heard the recordings it doesn’t really matter that the charges have been dropped, we know he’s guilty.

My opinion on when Ratcliffe discussed Greenwood was more about being careful, if he came out and said we will be looking to get rid, you straight away lose value, if he says we will consider all options and review the situation and decide if we deem him to be a man United player still, then you can sell to a club that wants him, I really hope as a man United fan that we sell him, I can't morally have him at our club, also in terms of him wanting money towards the stadium, we have to fund that ourselves, we can't be asking the tax payers to pay for our stadium, its that simple.

All though the hate could be justified. However, they are also rival fans. So it’s not just about him committing a terrible crime, but also being a threat to their title hopes if he came back. If Greenwood played for League 2, I seriously doubt they would have the same energy for him to get kicked out of football. In fact they wouldn’t even mention him. Because he would be so irrelevant. If you’ve got precedent that shows a player being convicted of a crime, and then serving his time, and then coming back to the same club, or going onto a different club, and being successful, one would look at Mason Greenwood, and ask what legitimate reason do you have for not allowing this individual to play at the same club when he was NOT convicted. Call me cynical here, but I look at it like this. 1. You’re gonna have a set of fans that believe because he was not convicted that there should be no ill will toward him, and that he should be given a fair shot to perform with Man United. 2. Also, you’ll have another set of fans who will never forgive him nor will they forget what they saw on heard and have decided he should never play professional football again, much less at United. 3. And then you’re gonna have a set of fans, may, or may not agree with either side to some extent, but will, based on his performance, cheer him on, or want to boot him out of the stadium. And this group, despite what they [individuals] say in a group setting or to other individuals when asked, are the largest group. But here is the absolute fact… as weird as it might feel, if Mason Greenwood came back, and set the world on fire with goals and assists, it would be shocking to some - no surprised to others - how many United fans get out of their seat and cheer the goals scored. They may still not like him, it might feel weird the first few times, but they will cheer him when he scores. Sports fans across the world will allow someone to come back from a crime, for which they were or were not convicted, based specifically on that players contribution to their team success. And after having said, all of that, I still don’t think he’s gonna come/be brought back to Man United. I just don’t see how they will mitigate the horrible PR nightmare that would follow; regardless of how many goals they think he can, or cannot score for them. Additionally, he may not actually want to come back to Man United. I think the assumption is that because Man United or Man United that he’s gonna want to be there. Who knows.

He hasn’t scored a ton of goals, I’m not certain about his contributions to goals. to be honest, I am not, as educated, in terms of how often an abuser, who has been convicted, caught, or confronted, repeats his abuse or her abuse. But, you’re absolutely right that Manchester United would be taking a huge risk. I ultimately don’t think that he will be back at Manchester United, whether it’s because he doesn’t want to come back to all the vitriol, that he most certainly will receive, or because Manchester United decided not to bring him back.
