I grew up in Texas. Several decades ago I went to the Czech festival in a little town called West. West is located south of Dallas-Fort Worth, in central Texas. They were having a chili cookoff, and each team entry had a snappy name for their concoction. I took a few samples but passed on the one called Goat's Head Chili because I was full. Not ten minutes later as I stood at another booth I turned around to see the GHC team lifting something out of their cooking pot. It was a goat's head. That NEARLY put me off chili altogether.

Although quite a few people mentioned that it was too expensive, Ray DID release a project loaded with his versions of classic novelty songs in a box set called The Encyclopedia of Recorded Comedy Music. Promo video clips should be available on the right hand side of the screen. He included a few Tea Party recordings on the bonus CD and he included re-recordings of some of his own novelty songs but the bulk of the project consists of his versions of novelty/comedy songs from the '30s to the '70s

My friend once made a habanero-assisted tomato salsa that he named "World Dies Screaming". I had a small bowl, far less than my usual amount of a salsa, and it burned going down. Then the next morning it burned worse coming out. Cold wash clothes and tucks pads simply didn't help more than a few seconds. It was one I had to tough out. Darn glad I didn't eat any more of it.

My grandmother raised some peppers that were nasty lethal little things. My granddad and her daughter in law were the only two that loved them. They were hot! I don't know where she got them or what they were called but you could make some really hot sauces with them.
