I first heard this song in the 70's... opps. now that's a long time ago. A friends and I used to see the Shriners driving those tiny motorbikes around town on special occasions. The line with Coy on the diving board in his fruit of the looms was a hoot then and still is!

@20lbsledge: I first heard this song when I was a kid as well. My grandfather had a couple of Ray Stevens cassette tapes. One of them was "Greatest Hits" on the MCA label in 1987 and this song was track two on the album. It's origins go back to late 1979...it was a single very early in 1980...his debut on the RCA label. The single reached the country Top-10 as did the album of the same name. Thanks to my grandparent's I became aware of Ray Stevens and am a huge fan of his.

He actually tamed it down a tiny bit for this video. In the original recording he says "I just hope Charlene doesn't find out about this", implying that Coy is cheating on his wife/girlfriend with the little redhead.

Prior to making this video, Ray travelled to Florida and met with our Imperial Potentate who gave his special permission for Ray to make this video! Smart move!

I always enjoyed the first 45 seconds of the song before it kinda fell apart into craziness. Nothin wrong with it, just think it could have been a credible song.
