This and "The Blue Cyclone" had both become victims of airplay editing. Back in 1985 both "The Haircut Song" and "The Blue Cyclone" became single releases from his album that year, I HAVE RETURNED. Given each song is much longer than a standard song played on radio MCA offered radio edits. This, as you referred to, is the unedited recording found on his 1985 album. The other release, "The Blue Cyclone", originally appeared as a 2-part recording...and each part clocked in at nearly 6 minutes each...for a total of perhaps a little under 12 minutes altogether (!). The edited copy of "The Blue Cyclone" appears on the MCA releases of GREATEST HITS, VOLUME 2 (1987) and a project called COLLECTION (1993).

This is a classic and if everybody could just relax and learn to laugh at themselves and just enjoy a funny song, that's not meant to ridicule or demean... C'mon 😂😊😅😂 Everybody needs to calm down with all this political correctness, accept all for who they are and embrace our differences! ❤ The world would be pretty boring if we were all cookie cutter exact replicas. I wouldn't want to live in that world. Boring and actually.. Kinda creepy.

That was the funniest haircut too.

It was airtime limits, not political correctness that required the songs to be edited.

Doubt there was any reason for editing other than it's content, because GAY then was tougher than the GAY today...can't say, look or question without welling up tears or someone climbing on their soap box

Lmao conservative snowflakes complaining about “political correctness” is so ironic
