I've edited the description multiple times and yet, the link for Clu's video seems to keep taking some people to a DeadMau5 Masterclass advert. For those having this issue, the video is specifically called "An Examination of Hunt: Showdown" and it should be the first video you see when copying that. Now I will forever have beef against Masterclass for giving me this grief.

It's EA, I frankly don't want to see them making a Burnout game nowadays. Even once great racing games like NFS and Forza are going down the shitter due to microtransactions. Just look forward to the series' original creator's new game. I also want a new Burnout (I didn't like Paradise's racing system - it was too reptetive without checkpoints) and a new Midnight Club - but out of these only Midnight Club might deliver, and even then it's unlikely Rockstar even remembers about it.

Mechanically Forza is alright, it's the progression in the campaign that's poor. If you only got it to paly online it shouldn't bother you, although it should be the other way around...

EA would ruin it anyways. Look at Need 4 Speed, those games are microtransaction infested shitholes now. Plus I don't want an open world Burnout. Burnout Paradise sucked compared to 3 and Revenge. 3 is the best Burnout though.

I never understood the criticism of traffic checking. Weaponizing the cars on the road to destroy your rivals is so unbelievably satisfying, and you still have to dodge oncoming and intersection traffic, large vehicles, and level geometry. Burnout Revenge is like crack, and I wish it was on PC officially. I of course do wish 3 was on PC as well.

I am always amazed that in burnout when you do a take down. The AI takes over the car as the wreckage is shown and then gives the player back the control smoothly. Its such a dam good feature that I don't think I have seen in other video game franchises.

Burnout 3: Takedown basically took my teenage angst and gave me a great medium to express it. The music from that game molded much of my taste in music, and I will never forget the nights spent repeatedly trying to get gold in the time trials. Especially when they make to go through a track you've done before, but going the other way!

I grew up on Burnout Revenge. That game taught me patience. As a little kid in rage mode going for my new highest score of takedowns. I would get so upset when I didn't hit my goal, i would rage. The game taught me to calm myself down and focus. I found the game so rewarding as me and my brother watching would sit in silence with burning anticipation on the inside as each takedown was closer to my goal. I even remember i was so happy to break 40, then 50, then 100... I don't remember what my final score was or what happened to the game. But it is a game I've always hoped for the proper return of. You did the franchise justice by making this video. Thank you.

I could listen to you talk about the nature of tracks and cars being obliterated to pieces to Beast and the Harlot for hours. That timing was perfect. The song intro building up behind you talking about how the competitive nature of the series differentiates itself within the genre; climaxing into the vocal shout of the first verse phrase at the tail end of the build up to your thesis sentence for the tracks, and the way you pause dramatically before you finish the sentence with emphasis on the basis for your thesis on beat with the opening phrase of the verse; the verse riff chugging away in the wake of the aforementioned as you describe with great satisfaction the lethal nature of the shortcuts; and then the melodic arpeggio chorus comes in, and you pause dramatically to deliver the single word "verticality" before your verbal spectacle evolves into the spectacular conceptual luster of the unique encounters, in kept time with the wandering phrases of the melting guitars... it's perfect. Then the solo comes in and you're just exerting ethereal word play mastery over the empyreal catharsis of the calculated chaos that is the vehicular destruction and its repercussions... the solo flairs to an end and you shift gears and floor the gas into presentation, right before transitioning into a montage showcasing how great explosions sound. Wow, just describing your video is the most fun I've had all week. I've never appreciated the use of a song so much. Whether purely coincidental, improvisation/capitalization on happenstance, or intended and constructed this way from the ground up - that was celestial my man. You are a wizard of visual audio splendor.

The most harder takedown in Burnout series is Total Takedown. You have to takedown 5 cars in a very short time (probably the multi takedown time period is 1 second), but it can be done by aftertouch. Still it's a very hard multi takedown type to perform.

@Aero7SVR
@Aero7SVR 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'm aware of the Paradise remaster. To me, it's just EA milking another classic game franchise to death. Because why spend $100 million developing an all-new $60 game, when you can spend next to nothing selling what is essentially a 10 year old game with updated '4K' resolutions for $20 ? Seriously, Microsoft are offering the same '4K' service with their Xbox One X Enhanced program, and they're not charging a single cent. You can buy a ton of used Xbox 360 games for $2 to $5 each, and play them in 4K (and in some cases HDR) on your One X. Don't be fooled, EA are and have always been smart and cunning. The real fools here are the silent majority of gamers who continue to support the toxic culture of pre-ordering, microtransactions, pay to win, day one DLC, cash grab 'remasters', and whatnot with their proverbial wallets.

One of my favourite gaming moments was in Burnout 3 when I was on the oncoming lane with an AI in the same car as me right next to me. He was steering into me, I was steering into him, no lateral movement. Then we approached a bus and I very slightly let go of the left stick so that he was on a collision course with the bus. We kept going at full speed until we reached the bus. I barely made it past while he stopped dead in his tracks with an amazingly satisfying sound.

The editing, script, pacing as well as all that passion you've put in to making this, as well as in to this game - everything was spot on, damn, Ray! Tho, one thing stand out for me, which made me like this video even more. It may be rude to think this way, but I don't care, as in this video I saw in you...myself, but much more educated, smarter and skilled. I mean, the amount of love and appreciation you have to this game, one can not only see it, but also hear it, in your voice and the way you have presented and expressed your opinion on Burnout Revenge (I don't want to say that you can even feel it tho, as it sounds wrong and I'm sure you know why), which I'm sure is one of your favourite games in the whole genre at least. The way you've talked, or told (bad English) about it, is the way I talk or tell etc about my favourite games, or at least seek to do it as well as individuals like you, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one who've felt this way after watching this video...or a vidoe on, let's say, Spec Ops, or...yeah. Burnout 3/Revenge are some of my favourite games, but I don't go back to them as much as I'd like. The main thing that puts me off is the sub-HD resolutions on the original releases, which makes it hard to see what's coming up. Thankfully, the bright yellow corner arrows help that, but crashing into a vehicle you couldn't quite make out is inevitable. I'd love to see a new Burnout game, or even a remaster of 3 and Revenge for this reason specifically. My crackpot theory for the series' disappearance is that EA put all their chips in with NFS, and didn't want anything to potentially compete with it, especially due to the higher cost of game development come gen 7. Then again, the whole Titanfall 2 release debacle shoots holes in that theory. Anyway, amazing video! It really captured the magic of these games. I like that you're taking the risk with some variety content, keeps the channel evergreen.

This video makes me emotional, I’m so glad there are a lot more people out there who are still passionate about a game from my (our?) childhood. It’s a shame the series and studio had gone, and the spiritual successor was too good to be true, Burnout 3: Takedown and Burnout: Revenge were my two most favorite Playstation 2 titles, hell, my favorite racing games, period.

Fuuuuuck, that ending when Shotgun dropped... Felt that rush for a brief golden moment. Forza Horizon has become my favorite modern racing series due to the freedoms it allows, the massive rosters of cars, and the feeling of excitement races can illicit, but there is *nothing whatsoever* that has the same reckless, unhinged feeling as the Burnout series. I've dumped over 3,000+ hours into Burnout Paradise (there's a gigantic story I wrote over on Gameranx's channel pertaining to their BP: Remaster video all about it) and it's one of those games that never truly feels like it'll stagnate, purely because it's the best at what it does. This is a masterfully edited video, and you give me hope for the future of the series. Thank you for doing my all-time favorite series proud. I can promise that if another game comes out, I will happily do everything in my power to crush your beautiful hypercar into a semi truck. Or vice versa.

I really dont feel the same about traffic checking. I liked the more puzzle like feeling of ALWAYS being on the edge of disaster. Just give me Burnout 3 HD and I'm happy. I don't think they'd be able to get the music though, which was such a big part of what I loved about 3.

Burnout 3 Takedown is one of my top 5 games, not just racing games, _GAMES,_ of all time. I play it today and have just as much fun as I did when I was a kid. I remember accumulating over like, 350 recorded hours in that game, which was a HUGE amount of time for a non-JRPG game back then IIRC before all this games as a service shit. I never got to play revenge but it looks like fun, I might try to find a copy later. Man, I miss this franchise, it's so hard to find any game like it these days that is of anywhere near the same quality and level of fun, especially in the sea of racing sims that I just really do not have any interest in playing unless it's in VR.

Yeah, I think I clocked over 400 hours of B3 myself, between me playing to unlock literally everything (the only game I did that with) and doing the party modes like crash and passing the controller around in takedown mode while we were all drinking. Who could last the longest? Have another beer.

@shred1894
@shred1894 4 жыл бұрын
The main issue with Paradise was that it lost the arcadey feel that 3 and Revenge had when it switched to the open world layout. It was cool for a while, but after a few hours of playing you start to realize how little substance the open world had. Not just that, but the progression felt really unrewarding compared to previous titles. In burnout 3, whenever you unlocked a new car, you couldn't wait to try it out, and you felt accomplished when you finally got the top tier cars in each class. Not only that but the world tour system made it satisfying in that you could feel your progress as you earned the next stages of events, as well as the fact that you could just jump right into the events from the menu without any fuss or hassle. There are cases like this where an open world actual hinders the game instead of making it better.

I'm not much for real-world-style racing games. They can be fun, especially in a real arcade, but they're not something I go out of my way to play. Burn 3 was the exception to that. From my first race I was hooked. The sheer adrenaline of pulling off dangerous stunts to be rewarded and the aggression of the driving made the game unlike anything I had played before. It was a blast every time. I wish I had played the sequel, but sadly I hadn't kept up with the series enough to know it even existed. Thank you Raycevick for broadening my horizons.

Split/Second was probably one of the best post-Burnout racers. The adrenaline rush you could get by throwing a 747 on your opponents, blowing up an entire dam, crashing down a whole building, with an awesome soundtrack and set design was just phenomenal. Me too man, In burnout 3 and Revenge you don't feel like you're driving a car but some kind of steel monster that eats cars, it's meant to be straight forward and dynamic, just pick and go, the open world thing and the NFS modding and whatnot just reminded me that i'm just a jackass driving poorly. Might as well just play Most Wanted again. It's all in the Atmosphere, and in revenge it was almost inhuman.

I used to love this franchise (especially Takedown and Revenge). Paradise was ok, but it felt like the open world wasn't as good as the crafted tracks of the previous titles. It seems as EA is done with the franchise now. They are more concerned with 'Games as Services' Shooters or sports titles now. Even NFS feels like it is on the edge of being shelved. I think the Danger Zone franchise might have the potential to deliver the Burnout experience (and be our best bet). The first two games are more tech demos that are hopefully leading up to the full experience by the next game. Its a wait and see kind of thing. Maybe Burnout will carry on, even if it might not technically be Burnout.

Why these corporations are so concerned about presenting their cars destructible?
