Yeah - her haters who are apparently experts in the female australia breaking scene and know for a fact that we have better breakers - are Olympic sized deluded.. Newsflash : Australian Breaking scene is tiny and we aren't as good as other nations internationally. We only qualified because of a direct continental pathway. THAT is why we were so outclassed. Nothing to do with Raygun who I consider one of our greatest Athletes going out there and representing us as best she could in the eyes of the world who she knew would laugh at her. She doesn't get it's not about "power moves". She is an expert/PhD in dance. If she worked as hard as she said she did, she should have been able to score a single point. She said throughout this interview that she knew before her performance that people were not going to understand her style. I don't understand why a professor that is trying to grow the dance scene in Australia would go to the Olympics and start kangaroo hopping on the stage, and then act surprised that people were upset with her.

Even the judges couldn`t see one positive point in her performance. She made a mockery of the event and should be removed from any position where she is involved in the selection process. The scoring is comparative. It’s not 0 out of 10. What the 0 really mean is that the opponent was better than her overall in the eyes of all judges. It makes a lot of sense since her opponents logisticx sissy and nicka are consistently among the best 8 in the world. She had particularly bad luck with the group she was in because it showed the level contrast more starkly.

Morrocco has an even bigger population than Australia. I know South African girls wanted to try out. Australia is a very easy and safe country to travel around. If you don't know, a very high majority of Australia's population live in the eastern side. It is very easy and cheap to travel to Sydney by train, for most of the population. If people wanted to sign up they would have. The information was on the website for a year before the games. Maybe look at the other contestants that went under the radar because they didn't wear colours or do kangaroo movements. They wouldn't be critisised anyway, for various reasons. No need to put a little laughing emoji to let it be known that you are trying to ridicule her. it's getting lame now. She had what others many other Australian girls didn't have, determination. Don't blame her. How come more B boys could show up to the Sydney trial. And no, there isn't break dancing on every street corner in Australia.

She was the best in the country - she won the qualification. We just don't have a culture of breaking here so our standard isn't high by international comparison. We have some younger kids who are better, but they were too young to qualify. If she's the best we had then I'm damn proud she went out there and gave it a go knowing full well the whole world would laugh at her. @@tylerdurden5122 that's not true at all. There were 9 international judges who selected her, two were AMERICAN. None were Australian and she had never had anything to do with them before. Her husband didn't select her at all. Anyone could enter the Continental qualifier in Sydney. The fact that more b boys entered show that they have more interest and will do what is required. She also had nothing to do with handing out funding. There were people who would only go if they got funding from Ausbreak, but they were not a funding organisation, and can't favour one person over another, plus she didn't have anything to do with Ausbreak or funding. If a person had a good background in breaking, they should have been able to find sponsors or funding in their community or area, especially if it was for the Olympics, as Australians are quite generous.

Raygun was defeating more talented B-Girls in battles with her husband Samuel Free serving as a judge at many of those contests. Raygun, Samuel Free and AUSBreaking ran a long con starting when breaking was announced as a 2024 Olympic event in December of 2019. And, no, it's not a conspiracy theory but is instead based on verifiable facts.

Honestly, her qualifier was way better than what she did at the olympics. It still wasn’t Olympic worthy, but she did less of her improv moves that she ended up doing. Her interview at the Olympics said she wanted to do 100% original moves at the olympics. I think that was where her main mistake was.

The scoring is comparative. It’s not 0 out of 10. What the 0 really mean is that the opponent was better than her overall in the eyes of all judges. It makes a lot of sense since her opponents logisticx sissy and nicka are consistently among the best 8 in the world. She had particularly bad luck with the group she was in because it showed the level contrast more starkly.

Hey, in all fairness, we're so used to watching the USA and Asian countries breaking. Raygun was artistic & unique by incorporating Aussie icon moves. Cudos to her artistic flair, maybe it's something we're not accustomed to seeing these moves, but Raygun did it great. She also had some standard breaking moves that we're all accustomed to seeing in any battle. Maybe the two together weren't the best idea, but she was technical in her moves (okay, admittedly not the kangaroo hop). Raygun was an artist, unique and technical at the same time. Like I said, something we're not used to seeing. That's why there's so many haters. It maybe wasn't a great choice of moves on a world stage representing Australia, but cudos for trying to be artistic.

If you've done a bad performance and get criticised for it by your peers, it's not hate mate - it's a critique of the performance. If a movie gets 0/10 on Rotten Tomato by reviewers and audiences alike, people are not "hating on the director", no matter what your film crew tells you. Totally.. the whole world clearly told her how terrible her performance was including many professional break dancers. (and she obviously also scored 0 at the Olympic) But somehow Raygun still thinks she's one of the best break dancers in the world.

Seriously anybody of us could have done better than that with a couple of weeks practice. Its a disrespect to the culture. I wish Australian breakers would spam the internet with real skills. So everybody sees there are thousands of people in that country who can do better and that.

Our breaking scene is tiny and not good.. some folks just can’t handle that we aren’t of a high standard in some sports.. wish they would work to help fix that problem if theyre so passionate about it rather than just complain online and blame our best representative 🤦♂️
