Hi Peter. Yes I have already got mine and looking forward to getting out and about with it in the summer months. Lovely radio and like the big display on it, and the fact that it will speak the frequency as well for when I'm in bright sun light. Well done and keep the idears coming. Derrick.

I have one and it's a quality built piece. My only complaint is that there is no way to actually get it to stay in place. You can't tighten that screw up enough so that the bracket doesn't shift.

I have one of those Windcamp/rebranded brackets and it feels like it’s a well made but ultimately rushed to market bit of kit. Tweaking the dimensions slightly would probably make it better. It’s the nicest bracket on the market for the IC-705 right now though.

Hi Peter, I am slowing getting through your back catalogue of uploads and learning alot. regarding the earth/ conterpoise being mobile in my vehicle, could I just connect wire from radio earth to an earth point in my vehicle or does the counterpoise need to be 1/4 lenght of the band I am transmitting from? and lastly how would I work out the length of my required counterpoise/ earth when transmitting from diffenret bands, or a good starting point? If you use a mobile whip, you will have an earth connection at the antenna base. otherwise you should try and run a wite from your radio to an earth point in the vegicle as your car is a lovely chunk of metal making a good earth. A quarter wave counterpoise will add to this, but nit as much as you might imagine. 73 Peter.

Sorry we don't have any dual 20/40m whips - only Diamond single band, which is what I use. Peter

Mate, the foam looks terrible. How about using a couple wedge door stops and paint them matt/satin black.
