Another great video FC. Three more things that I do to improve accuracy with my Skyrc 4-corner scales are: 1) set the individual scales on a flat set-up board (or something I trust to be flat); 2) place the vehicle's wheels dead center on each of the scales; and, 3) tap the top of the vehicle to settle it on the scales. Not doing this leads to wide variations in the weights displayed. Looked into calibrating; and, my scales are similar in their variances as you have. My Vu and you inspired G-speed belly crawler is currently 60/40 front-to-rear and 50/50 side-to-side (not taken on a diagonal like I would normally do for my race vehicles).

Ordered one the other day, you showed me features I didn’t know it had. Thanks always leave a comment for support of Rc Review. More hardbodies, can make comp runners with it hard if done right.....Neil knows what’s really going on. Love when he’s a guest on your channel. We wanna see more about the scale for our scale rigs.

I've had mine for approx 18 months. This scale is fantastic. I originally got it for my off-road race vehicles, but have since used it for others (on-road race, crawlers, trophy truck...and, soon, no-prep drag car). One thing you forgot to mention...something I'd consider EXTREMELY important...is calibrating the scale. As you discovered, its factory calibration isn't always within the 'specs' SkyRC claims...but, it IS something users can recalibrate any time they. The minimum requirement due calibrating is a 2Kg calibration weight. The reason is that 8Kg is the maximum the scale can handle, which also means a maximum of 2Kg per pad. Calibration is done using just a single pad (I haven't had my morning coffee, yet, but it's the front left, if I'm recalling correctly). You don't need "scientific grade" calibration weights...but, at the same time, you also don't want to get the 'cheapest' ones, as they're weight could be off by a considerable amount...I'd recommend 1 to 2 'steps' up from the lowest grade (of I remember correctly, calibration weights come in 5 levels/grades). Personally, I'd suggest, to in addition to a 2Kg weight, you should also get a 1Kg, 500g, 300g, and 200g. You use the 2Kg weight too calibrate the scale...then, once calibration is complete, you place each of the other for weights on one pad, to "verify the calibration". I recalibrate mine 2-4 times a year, depending on how often I've been using the scale.

Thank you and great review. I would imagine this is important for rc buggy and stadium truck racing too. Cant wait to try mine

Great vid as always . I need this for my rc dirt oval cars . This would help out a bunch. On oval car it’s very critical for corners

I found on mine that it was more consistent if the tires were in the middle of the pad. I put an X on each pad to help me get the tire in the center.

What a fantastic tool to have on the bench. Great for determining battery placement and shock tuning. Besides crawlers this would be a "must have" tool for No Prep drag racing.

Ive been using this scale for awhile now to set up rc with..With crawlers the "ideal" front to rear weight distribution would be 60/40...Moving below or above this number shows diminishing results in either direction . Typical for a 1/10 rtr is usually 53/47 54/46...The axial 10.2 and trx4 sport showed 53/47. On the scx24 C10 ive seen 52/48...with the locations of the battery and esc swapped with HR brass knuckles and front diff cover only and the emax servo (which adds weight) you should find 58/42 or better..Makes a huge difference in its ability all around. My personal scx24 comes in at 60/40 with weighing in at 216g total weight...Ive done rather extensive lightening before adding weight for weight distribution improvement only and ended up below stock weight of 228g. #TeamGspeed

Thanks for another great video! I've been playing around with separate scales and seen that one advertised. I like the instant percentages. What about that Atlas 6x6. Did you do a review on it? It looks interesting with the small size.

Yeah, it's cool that it simplifies all the percentages and calculates. Weight is not really as important. It's the percent that we really need to know quickly.

Hi Francis , I really Like how your detailed on all your Videos. Very easy to Understand and Ive learned alot. Than you. But Im planning on getting one these scales , they seem to be Legit. But what ive noticed on most of your vehicles you were weighing is that you have alot of " Leaning weight " from right to left or vise versa. That has to throw off performance on any Vehicle , specially a Crawler , wouldnt you think ? But I agree, this scale is a Must have for sure. Great Vids , keep up the good work. thanks

I did the same by using 4pcs identical dirt cheap digital scale which cost me around 7 bucks for all. I do the percentage distribution calculation with formula on spreadsheet apps.
@RCReviewChannel3 жыл бұрын
That's another way to do it. Accurate digital scales are rarely that cheap. You have a link? Spreadsheet though...

@@RCReviewChannel tokopedia.link/51uPa2Hksbb This digital scale quite accurate. I tested the accuracy by measuring the weight of a bag of 500gr sugar.

The manual talks about calibrating each scale by plugging them one at a time into the Front Left port and using a 2000 gram calibration weight (2kg is about 4.4 pound). I'm guessing the unit doesn't come with the calibration weight. A 2000 gram calibration weight cost about $35.

This would be nice for a group of Crawlers to invest in and time share. Or Buy and Charge to balance peoples rigs. ? $$ If you live where a lot of people crawl.

Are you measuring those vehicles with the batteries installed? Because I fly planes and if the batteries are not installed , your measurements mean nothing. Thanks, Rob.

Not entirely true, as one can choose from a range of batteries on any given day, but close enough, and 7:08 etc applies.
