IPL is traditionally known for being cruel to bowlers. But this season it has crossed all limits I feel. Broadcasters in every match keep showing the explosive batting stats like most sixes in least matches, most runs scored, etc which shows the level of batting dominance. Highway tracks added with dew coming in like swimming pool is further deteriorating the importance of bowlers. Also in slow wickets like Lucknow, "boring match" keeps trending in Twitter every match day. So as even majority of the fans want explosive batting, this trend is going to rise even more in the future. Leave alone 'even contest between bat and ball', there won't be any contest at all (It'll only end up being a complete batters game).

point taken. but bowlers importance will never decrease in any form of cricket. highest bid and the costliest buy in the last auction was for two Australian giants. both are real time destructive bowlers. Bumrah's ability to bowl his best and keep the economy in check on any given ground can never be written off. IPL is still both a batter's and bowlers game. the only reason batters are dominating is because of the pitches. smaller grounds like chinnaswamy should be curated to favour bowling, but the case never happens. it keeps worsening. overall the reason it became a batsman's game is because this is not a bowler's era like the 90s, there's very few who bowl variations and read the batsmen nowadays. an average batsman turns out with better performances than an average bowler. pitch makes a major difference and there are a lot of talents in both departments.

I think a bigger problem with RCB is the hype that continues to kill the brand. Next year, clean the house, including management. Not a single local cricketer or a former cricketer is part of the management. This is not some well established winning franchise to attract top talent based on stats. This losing culture will not change until you get more local talent involved in a meaningful way. Conduct pre ipl practice matches well in advance with your local talent get them game ready. Look at TNPL.

They give a lot of their hard earned money for Tickets that are outrageously expensive to come to the stadium. RCB takes fans for granted. The stadium atmosphere is very good inside. But the toilets are horrible. Ticketing is Terrible, stampede for food. Even if I pay 4000 INR, the experience is equal to 1000 INR. They won't even improve the stadium experience. SRH won the game fair and square...RCB did not lose.........When players like Head, Klassen, Abhi, Nitish, Samad, Pat and others start to hit and click, then it would not have mattered who the bowlers were.....even the 277 against MI there were 4 overs from Bumrah :-) and it did not matter they lost by 33 runs. The reviews are so focussed on "RCB"...is something that is so weird, folks should accept that SRH won the game as they batted, bowled and fielded way better....T20 is a game where matches are won with a difference of 20+/- runs , so all due credit should be given to 'WINNING' team only.

Let's not get too carried away by one good batting performance that too in a los RCB yesterday played like that as they had nothing to lose. What was Anuj Rawat doing? Scoring at run a ball when the required rate was 20rpo. To be honest none of the RCB batters barring DK scored at the required rate which was 240runs per 100 balls. Everyone scored below the required rate of 240strike rate it was just DK's innings that brought the margin down to 25 runs. This is the problem with RCB yesterday they had the toss advantage and still couldn't win. Imagine had RCB batted first do you think would they've scored 262? No they would be happy with a 200 target. One of our main batters would've hit a 60-65 ball hundred and fans would be going ga ga.That's the difference between RCB and other teams. They're always 30-40 runs below the par score let alone the winning score. Had RCB lost the toss yesterday we would say that there was dew so SRH easily chased down the target.
