Research regularly shows that a healthy life is built on healthy thinking. Children need to be taught, not only what to think, but also, how to think. Complex Trauma negatively affects both. It results in believing many lies and in having many unhealthy types of thinking

❤☮️. Hi, I know it’s not the same as face to face, but Tim offers counseling via his website. The counselors are trained by him. I’m considering the five visit option. Hope this helps. ☮️❤️

So the tendency towards binary thinking is a reflection of the kind of thinking that is necessary in times of chaos, emergency, dangerous situations etc. So it makes sense that ppl with cptsd would default to this kind of thinking - we’re so used to living in a minefield that one step in the wrong direction could mean unpredictability terrible consequences in the home or environment of our childhoods. This is the first time I’ve heard this explained so well, thank you Tim!! Makes so much sense to me now why my role in groups usually defaults to doing everything or doing the things that people won’t or can’t get done, rarely anything in between. I’m always there to do it, given whatever leftover resources or time, I’m reliable. It stresses me out but it’s almost worse if I’m expected to act differently. Another reason why I need a lot of alone time, peace and quiet, to bring all my parts together again and remind myself that I’m ok. Great insight, ty🙏🏾♥️

Only 18.000 views. What a shame. There is so much to learn from this lesson. I watched a lot of psychology content in the last decade. From classic psychology, over narcissism, attachment styles to personality stuff. But with these lessons, a lot of my parents' and partners' behavior make really sense now. And it makes everything i experienced way more tragic. I gained a lot of understanding, why my dad, my mom, and my wife treat others the way they do. With this knowledge, i lost a lot of resentment and can now help the people around me with their struggles. For the first time in years, i had a productive conversation with my wife about her behavior. She began to start igonoring the needs of our kids (4) and (2). That was a real gamechanger. Thank you so much for helping me to break this unhealthy cycle our origin families and we are in. God bless you!

Whew, this one stings because I didn’t have advanced thinking in my unsafe & dysfunctional home upbringing even though I was very known to be book smart. I understand why that was now. I feel less ashamed to admit this. I didn’t have much choice to think for myself in my childhood home. I see how this has affected me as an adult. I’m happy that I took two years off to heal. I’m somewhere in between creative and critical thinker when I once was just a perceptual thinker not too long ago. Healing and gaining clarity is like a mental form of yoga for me. So relaxing and freeing. Thank you Tim.

I am thankful and I feel that it’s sad for all who have been through complex trauma, there is so much damage at so many levels it’s almost impossible to think what to think? Before listening to this I over generalized and my hubby is worst case scenario. He doesn’t know he has this too but since I am watching these videos and now I have insight, I am able to understand mostly everyone very clearly. Thanks you God bless you !!!!

I was mocked for critical thinking when I was at that stage of developing that way of thinking. My aunt gave me a nick name Analysis, and my father called me a sage giving me impression that, that is something nobody is doing, therefore means I'm bad, calculated and dangerous.

My parents never taught me to think. It came natural to know what to think when you analyze it. It never dawned on me to teach my children how to think especially when I never had anyone teach me.

We should redesign an economy where advertisement is relegated to specific time and places (physical or virtual). “Free” services paid via more or less intrusive advertisements is costing families a lot!

To get an idea when God is in control we need to look at the garden of Eden before man's rebellion and eternity but everything else in between is man screwing things up or all the things that the fall of Man created or resulted in but I really enjoy this teaching
