My answer overlaps with some of the things you've mentioned in the video: Slowing down, dropping high level performance expectations, self-care in between the tasks, taking the time to appreciate actual accomplishments, dumping all the to-dos on the paper and choosing what's both - importand and urgent (when spoons are limited), partaking in each task the best I can & planning ahead. Adaptation takes work but is worth it. Agree on the importance of having a community. Thank you for your work and for what it brings to the people. 😊

You are so helpful. My spoons were unlimited before the vaccine now my spoons are low. Going from healthy to chronically ill overnight is so hard.

It is awful when on days with no energy you have medical appointments to attend too. Waiting rooms and such a draining experience

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 21. The constant pain, fatigue, brain fog has been rough. I am 27 now recovering from a whiplash injury and I am just constantly tired. I am going to try implementing your advice.

I took exception to your title... However, rather than a way to 'gain' more Spoons, I think that your advice is excellent as a way to regulate, conserve, and recover Spoon usage. 🙏🏼

How do you determine how many spoons you have in a day?

Such a good question. I have spent the last 2-3 years working out my own Spoon level. What I have determined is that I can only be off of bed rest for a total of 4 hours a day if I want to avoid NOT being able to get out of bed the next day. But then.... I am Autistic with ADHD and have fibromyalgia, ME, Graves Disease, and Parkinson's... to name the most prominent.

I was the kind of person who spent the whole weekend to do some serious housework. It went from recovering the following week to outright stop cleaning. As time goes by, I've had to add a cleaning project to a one or two day project. A pain in the butt, but that's how I've been cleaning my house....

Hey , I need help soo much, ive been struggling with this so long, after an event I didnt want to feel emotion anymore, I started to make a compulsion with my toughts now my brain has been scared for my own thinking for months now, I always remain calm and know its ok, but my small emotional reactions that i constantly have on toughts that COULD cause me a feeling is still causing me way more stress than needed. If I just keep completely calm and always know they are just toughts how long do you think for the brain will realise?

This is why you can't "calm down" (and what you should do instead: NEUROPLASTICITY!)
