The legend would be false. Johnny is not one of the founding members of the band although he's been around since the beginning. A7X had 3 bassists before Johnny. He is a leader though. He's a great song writer and he's helped elevate them to the level that they're at now.

Awesome interview! Avenged Sevenfold was the very first band I seen in concert in 2012 when I was 16 along with Ghost who I also absolutely love and I had never loved a band like I loved A7x and I still love them, my taste has evolved and grew a ton but I still fucking love them. They really introduced me to the metal genre and ultimately shaped me and my entire music taste through the years. This really brought up a lot of nostalgia and memories. Super cool you got to speak with Johnny, Alex! Keep being a dope ass guy and giving us these sick reactions! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

The hot topic era 😂 but damn if those weren't good times. With the exception of Dallas Taylor(still great music, just gave Underoath a running start is what I mean to say) all that you listed and a few others got put on right as I hit middle school/got huge by the time high school came. There was so much... Metal in 2020 is... Depressing. I know quarantine and covid have decimated shows and made recording way more difficult on artists who weren't already accustomed to recording and file sharing at home.. There just doesn't feel like much out there

Saw A7X live in 2017 in Sheffield UK, so I can speak from experience, these guys know how to put on a show. Johnny is such an awesome guy, he's constantly interacting with the fans throughout the show and you can see how much fun the band has while performing, especially when it comes to older songs like this that they've played at every show for years. It's truly one of the highlights of my life seeing this song performed live.

I think my favorite part of this whole thing is Alex's story about the piano specifically because I know for a fact I moved a piano when I was 13 with almost no outside help. To be fair, the piano I moved was an upright piano on wheels, but I did have to push it uphill.
