I wasn't suicidal until I started taking antidepressants and haven't been since I quit them 2 years ago.
@pavlovahelviticus6 ай бұрын
I was put on Zoloft while extremely depressed in my first year of college and within a week it made me start feeling actively suicidal. I was so angry when I realized that was a possibility, I was already so fragile. What a difference it would have been to have been told that strength and healing were within my capacity instead of internalizing the narrative that I had a lifelong medical condition because I had a hard time adjusting to adulthood at 19

@@MOAB-UT I'm doing great now, I'm totally unmedicated, have a full time job, a college degree, longterm plans, and a stable relationship. I feel very lucky to have pulled myself out of it. @@pavlovahelviticus That is awesome. Good for you. Def. dig on a book called Mind Magic- Doty. You can thank me later. It will take you to the next level. I prefer the Audible version. You will learn how you were living in a sympathetic state- high stress- Fight, Flight or Freeze. In that state the adrenals release chemicals that make you not happy- like Cortisol. You cannot think straight. The other side is Parasympathetic, more relaxed state- hormones release are oxytocin, serotonin, etc. So it was never your fault. Dude is a neurosurgeon- he knows the science. He teaches how to manifest and leverage these states to your advantage. Amazing read. Avoid high Oxalate foods like almonds, soy, rhubarb, potatoes, spinach, chocolate. It's in a book I am reading- Toxic Superfoods- Norton. Every little bit helps.

The irony is that ADHD is a lot more like the scenario described in the ad, but we never see TV ads for Ritalin or Wellbutrin for inattentiveness because the patents have expired.
@JakeHambyZ806 ай бұрын
I had to refill both of those meds and for the Ritalin it took multiple trips to the pharmacy, two calls to the doctor's office, and another to the pharmacy, with the extra phone calls because my new job has a new insurance plan and they made me get a "prior auth" from the doc's office before they'd approve the coverage (generic 10mg Ritalin 2x daily). My understanding is that because it isn't "officially" FDA approved for adult ADHD, the insurance companies make the patient and the doctor jump through a hoop for no reason. I'm curious why pharma decided to go all-in on depression/anxiety and SSRI meds with these ads during the same time period when they could just as easily, or in parallel, have been pushing extended-release Wellbutrin and extended-release stimulants for adult ADHD with the same "ask your doctor", while those formulations were still patented. Same economic motivation, but only a small % of the population has adult ADHD, while just about everyone can be depressed or anxious, oh, I've answered my own question.

What does not exist @@DildoBorchiato22c? The earth shattering nightmares these drugs produce which can end the lives of patients? Congratulations Dr. Josef! I believe you are quickly taking my place as #1 on Pfizer's "Shit List". But you are so nice about it, unlike me. So they may not even send their lead attorney after you like they did me when I gave Dateline the science on the Zoloft-induced REM Sleep Disorder that Phil Hartman's wife suffered to cause her to act out the nightmare she had about a screen play she was writing where a woman shoots her husband in a sleepwalk state. Research now shows 86% of patients suffering that fatal side effect were given antidepressants. So when a patient asks me in a media interview what they should do in an up coming appointment with a doc suggesting they take an antidepressant. I just tell them to have their doctor try it first, preferably as a suppository & let them know how they do! 😮😂

Super low dose of Zoloft 12.5mg a day works for me. Have you heard of low doses working and is it safer long term than the therapeutic doses?
@TheDavveponken6 ай бұрын
No psych drugs are safe, HOW they "work" is the problem with them - they are neurotoxic and associated with developing cardiovascular disease and alzheimers. They impair the brain. You anxiety/depression is actually a healthy warning of being in a circumstance that isn't good for you. Listen to your body, it works. Don't try to impair it. Taper slowly though to not cause further imbalance. I took ritalin and it ruined my life from a week of taking it. It's almost been two years now and I probably will never get my old self back.
