The thing I love the absolute most about this video is it made me realize that Maul killed perhaps the 2 most important people in Obi-Wan's life (outside of Anakin) and yet when Maul was dying Obi-Wan didn't show any distain or even just walk away, he cradled him the EXACT same way he cradled his loved ones. He truly had no hatred in his heart, not even for the person that had caused him the most pain

In the end they were long lost brothers meeting for one last time. Both grew up in the shadow of Palpatine, both were forged by their defeats and what happened to them. One never abandoned his code and looked inward for strength-growing and becoming a true Master, the other looked outward and never grew beyond what he was in the beginning.

@@o98z he is a champion of Trollmaster championship. He always outsmart everyone. Had a low ground against Maul, had a low ground against Grevious...and he said to anakin, most powerful oponent he ever met "it is over, i have a high ground " ...wtf, I'm dead

As a young man, Obi-Wan Kenobi held the man who raised him dying in his arms, and gave his word that he would do his part for the next generation. Somewhere closer to the middle of his life, he held the love of his life, and was assured of her love even as she too died in his arms. And when, as an old man, he finally puts the monster that stole both of them from him to rest, he holds him just the same, and shares his reassurance that things will be better- if not for them, then for who comes next. Kenobi’s life was one filled with loss… yet he never stopped giving everything he had, never stopped fighting for what was right, and never stopped believing that there were things worth believing in.

This is why Obi-wan is my favorite SW character. After losing everyone he loved and the only life he ever knew, he still remained true to himself and his duty. He is the exact opposite of Anakin. He shows what true inner strength and conviction is. Through all of the tragedy and suffering brought upon him, he still held on to hope and always trusted in the Force.

Vader's Rage it’s the fact Anakin and obi wan are mirrors of each other. Anakin and padme fell in love get married. Obi wan and satine fall in love they split as it’s the way of the Jedi. Obi wan loosed his father figure and the love of his life yet still resists. Anakin looses his mother and wife looses control and turns. They are the same coin just different sides. Even in their fights Anakin full of rage and hate. Obi wan cool and calm. It’s a master peace.
@blueroninstudios5 жыл бұрын
Tons of people are all about Anakin because he's powerful. And yet, he got turned. Obi-Wan, to me, and Qui-Gon before him, understood that power isnt everything. They understood the Jedi Code, they were egoless, of course they had pain in their lives, but the ability to deal with that pain in a healthy way so that those feelings didn't consume them makes them much more elevated than that of Maul, Dooku, and of course, Palpatine. One of my favorite lines in the lead up to his last duel with Maul kinda summed up his character when Maul said "Looks what's become of you, you're a rat in the desert." Obi-Wan jsut stood there, no hatred in his heart for Maul anymore, just a simple serene acceptance. Kenobi had been in the desert, training, meditating, and slowly gaining his mastery over both his emotions and the Force, while Maul was so overconsumed by anger and revenge. And Obi-Wan, with that lovely, sardonic smile, jsut looked at Maul and gently says to him, "Look what I've risen above." I paused the episode and said "Yeah, this fights either going to be epically long, or blissfully short." It was blissfully short, because Maul never evolved in his fighting technique or in his own maturity except in physical age. He was destined to lose to Kenobi, because Kenobi at this point, had unofficially acheived such a grand mastery of himself, and the Force over the decades that Maul might as well have been a slight annoyance. And he took Maul out of that fight so quickly, it was barely even a contest. Most of our jaws dropped, but then the more we thought about it, we were like "Yep, that makes sense, he's a Grand Master. Maul's still that immature apprentice Sidious trained." I kinda feel sorry for those out there who thought Maul would even last barely a minute going up against old Ben. Power doesnt dictate who wins or loses in this universe. The Force does. That's how George Lucas intended it. Epic reaction by the way. Im a new sub, and I think im gonna like this channel. Pretty sweet handmaiden cosplay, I gotta say! Very pretty, Catherine.

I love Star Wars, i grew up watching it as a kid because my mom saw the first movie in theatres when it came out, and i especially love the force and the balance that must be maintained because in my own life i try to keep everything balanced. I especially love the Theme music for the Jedi, it always instills a feeling if happiness and comfort. I have always been fond of the Grey Jedi. "Flowing through all, there is balance, There is no peace without a passion to create, Knowledge fades without the strength to act, Power blinds without the serenity to see, There is freedom in life, and purpose in death, the force is all things and i am the force." This is also why one of my favorite Jedi was Qui gon Jinn, he is considered by many to have been a grey jedi because of his beliefs.
@Rubicon23054 жыл бұрын
I really liked the subtle nuances and the overlapping/flashback shots re: the final duel between Obi-Wan and Darth Maul. First, Obi-Wan takes 3 successive stances, giving homage to the Ewen McGregor's young Obi-Wan with his 1. one-handed back/overhead-alternate hand extended fwd, then 2. two-handed front guard stance indicative of Alec Guinness in the original trilogy, and then 3. he takes Qui-Gon's two-handed, upright bladed stance... which is serendipitous in that this stance/fighting style was Qui-Gon's go-to preferred style he used when he was killed by Darth Maul, yet Obi-Wan uses it to defeat Maul. Also, notably so, and even more poignant, is that Maul sees this and goes for the same face-bash stun strike he used to kill Qui-Gon Jinn but Obi-Wan deftly parries this and the entire duel consists of but one or two moves and he strikes down his opponent vs. a long drawn out flashy duel (I think that Filoni & co. did this on purpose because we just got an incredible 'wow' moment with Ahsoka and Maul's duel and doing the "same thing" again so soon would have been redundant and detracted from the awesome spectacle that was the Ahsoka and Maul duel. As the old adage goes, "sometimes more isn't always better, sometimes it's just 'more'." - and they did a perfect job with these two duels, making each have gravity in their own right, but I digress). Just spectacularly done.

I’m sure there’s many who believe Obi Wan’s journey began and ended with Anakin/Vader, but for me it began and ended with Maul. It was his overcoming of Maul that became his final Trial and it was the death of Maul that brought it all full circle. It was then that his journey came to an end. And from then on his role has simply as a guide for Luke’s journey, including his confrontation with Vader is so Luke can be compelled to fight on and so he can help Luke as a ghost without being hindered. Thank god for The Clone Wars and Rebels that gave us all that.
