@@andersonskydiver53 probably predictable, but what if the cat was legit just a cat, but bc some ethereal being loved it, the lil kitty could never get injured. So the cat just stay alive for so many years it began learning languages, more complex thought patterns, and began collecting something like "the knowledge of the ancients" just for fun. It is neither good nor evil, it's just cute, knows it, and now also has some secret powers like warping space in a limited range. It knows it's protected, though perhaps not by whom and might not even care to find out. The ethereal force enjoys watching it explore, and the cat enjoys anything that keeps it from boredom. And thus, they show up at random places and do things that may or may not assist the player - they might just be there to watch drama unfold for sport.

I watched a few playthroughs of it and the two things I like the most are: 1)The animation when you die to an eye, specifically, the teeth in the darkness, that's really cool. 2)Something almost no one noticed, a giant eye in the water looking at you after creature steals the boat in the ending.

Lixian’s and Mark’s levels of synergy in humor, friendship, content, and pretty much everything is so uncanny but simultaneously fantastic. Plot twist: the cat is actually the monster and jumps into the water after the sub leaves, therefore the cat is not harmed when the boat sinks, meaning that all is well.
