I really like these "dev talk" sort of videos. As someone who's mildly interested in getting into the industry myself, it's cool to see someone build games, design cutscenes, prepare music, adding cats (that cat is SO cute), and how you deal with the bugs or unforeseen things that pop up. The opening talk of phobias reminded me of a concept for a game I had once, while I'm not actually interested in actively making games I think this might be an exception one day. Notaphobia, a word I made up, with "nota" being latin for "familiar." Basically a massive tribute/mashup of all the great indie mascot horror type games from FNAF onwards

I really like this game! It was simple but challenging and the added cat was the cherry on top - because not only are you interested in what mysteries are lurking in the depths, you now have a motive to keep trying because you must make it back to that cat alive

I watched Mark play and I have to say, it's been a joy to watch you improve every time you make a game. This game was tense with just the right amount of humor ("Captain over!" got funnier each time). I can't wait for MatPat to make a Game Theory about how the real monster is the adorable cat.

I just played it. I haven’t done the hard mode yet but I’m planning on doing it eventually. It was so good! It was really intense which is my favorite kind of scary game and it was fun. The use of animation to monitor the depth and control events is a really cool idea. It gives you a visual element to control for those events. I don't have any game dev experience (though I am a software engineer), but I can't see any reason this is a bad thing for simple event handling. Might not scale well to conditional events and the like. Also, Lixian's comedic timing is gold.

I played the game, and just wanted to say: thank you so much for adding the checkpoint where you did. I got to see two different death animations, but I did beat the game on the third try and thought it was at a good difficulty level! ...Just not sure I'm ready to tackle hard mode yet, though. ^_^;

You also unintentionally made barotrauma. A 2d submarine game where you explore the underwater depths of europa. Fighting monsters doing missions and repairing the submarine. There's a lot more to it than that but that's the important stuff for starting out. Very complicated game but VERY fun. One of my favorite games of all time. It's not perfect by any means but it's still a lot of fun.
