Reacting to RIDICULOUS Reviews of Fort Collins

FoCo is my home town. I lived there until I was 54..moved to Tampa Florida...To me there is no comparison. Tampa Traffic if much worse! The cost of living is higher in Florida. I moved back west to live with my daughter in Cheyenne after finding out I could not afford to live in Tampa or FoCo on my own. I am now on a fixed income & handicapped, which sucks. I get be in FoCo when I want to but not quite the same. If I could afford it I'd be there!

I’ve only lived here for two years so take my opinion with a grain of salt, however, I will say that homelessness isn’t addressed as much as one would hope. I’ve seen a lot of unfortunate outbursts and dangerous behavior from homeless people that police and business owners roll their eyes to like it’s their 3rd time that day dealing with it. It’s sad to watch. Other than homelessness, the occasional overcrowded feel, and sometimes scarce job market, it’s a great city. The only reason I’m leaving is to try the mountain town life and live closer to the mountains and resorts. If I had to move back to the front range, Fort Collins would likely be my first pick!

Thanks for your opinion! I think we can always do better and it seems that the council, police dept and DDA are all on the same page trying to address it in the most effective/efficient way but it is clearly a challenge! Enjoy the mountain life!!

Sounds like all the people leaving those negative comments needs to leave if it’s so bad. I can’t wait to visit northern CO and checks the town out. Sounds like gen z cry babies leaving those comments still living with mommy. 😢
