Adrian's character arc in the first three Rocky movies is remarkable. She goes from being mousy, shy, and almost timid to a fiercely strong stoic woman who helps her broken husband find his footing again. Rocky gave Adrian a newfound sense of confidence and determination, and Talia Shire communicates this beautifully. Her delivery of that speech on the beach is brutally moving: "You're the one that's gotta settle it!... Get rid of it! Because when all the smoke is clear and everyone's through chanting your name, it's just gonna be us! And you can't live like this! WE can't live like this!" And let's take a moment to recognize that Mr. T is actually a genuine, down to earth good guy in real life.

After Mr. T got out of the Army in the late 70s, he went to work as a bouncer in Chicago, and quickly became the doorman, wearing the jewelry left behind by customers (some accidentally, and some as a result of being in a fight in the club and being forcefully ejected by the bouncers), which kept them from having to be let back in the club to claim their items. His look and personality got him noticed, and after a couple of years, he became a body guard for wealthy celebrities, which resulted in him moving to Los Angeles. He began to go to auditions, but he wasn't hired as an actor until he was cast in a very early reality show - a kind of "Ninja Warrior"-type show for bouncers called "America's Toughest Bouncer" - which he won and which REALLY got him noticed. That led to him being cast as a regular member of the TV show The A-Team, which skyrocketed his popularity and sold a ton of merch, and eventually as his role as Clubber Lang. That established him as an actor and he had several of his own shows, including his own cartoon show. He worked steadily into the 90s before pulling back from acting in the 2000s.

People loved him because he was so positive and friendly despite the characters he plays. He grew up in a really tough project (council estates in the UK) in Chicago and grew up to be a bodyguard of Michael Jackson and others. That got him into acting. He was really close to his mother and when he took her to the premiere of this movie she got upset by how Clubber acted and said "I didn't raise you to act this way" and Mr. T teamed up with Hulk Hogan to wrestle but it was promotional and not something he did for very long.

This was the first Rocky movie I got to actually see in the theater. I think I was 12. We didn't have sources like IMDB and such, so seeing Hulk & Mr T were total surprises. Hulk was just really starting to run roughshod over the rest of wrestling and Mr T's TV show was amazing at the time. Bringing them both into a movie at that time was not even thought possible. The amazing thing to me with this series is that they could have produced 10 films in the time they did the first five. It could have been a true money grab, but they didn't. Sure - they kept them coming, but they had substance and stood on their own as solid films. I think Rocky IV was the last (during the run) of the good ones, they really tried hard not to totally sell out and produce a bad product simply for the money. I totally respect that.

Mr. T is the stage name of the actor (real name Laurence Tureaud) who played Clubber Lang in Rocky III. In fact, Rocky III was Mr. T's film debut. He went on to be featured in the comedy DC Cab, and later starred in the very popular action TV series, The A-Team. Mr. T and Hulk Hogan met on the set of Rocky III and became friends, which lead to Mr. T taking part in the main event of the very first WrestleMania, where he and Hogan teamed up against "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff in a tag team match. During the 1980's, Mr. T was one of the most popular celebrities in Hollywood, with his own Saturday morning cartoon, breakfast cereal, action figure, and starring in various TV specials. He continued his relationship with the (then) WWF, fighting "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in a boxing match at WrestleMania 2, and occasionally acting as a special guest referee during an occasional grudge match. Hulk Hogan and other wrestlers would also appear as guest stars on The A-Team from time to time. Sadly his acting career didn't go much farther after the eventual cancellation of The A-Team. He would star in commercials and PSA's, make special celebrity appearances at events or guest star as himself in the occasional TV show. But other than that, he just kind of faded away, like many popular stars do.

That statue is real and stood in that place for quite some time But it was moved up the street. Mr. T had his own cartoon that preached good behavior and kindness and healthy living. He was also an advocate for the anti-drug campaign.

Mr. T was very popular in the 80s. Rocky III introduction Mr. T to the world. Mr. T has been in a few movies. He was in one of the early wrestle manias fighting side by side with Hulk Hogan. He's most famous for his TV series The A-Team. He also had an animated Saturday morning cartoon show called Mr. T where he and these gymnast kids solve crimes. I also remember eating Mr. T cereal when I was a kid. -OG

That picture at the end credits is an original Leroy Nieman. He was the ring announcer with the prominent mustache. ✌️❤️

Mr. T first became famous as the winner of a TV Best Body Guard contest.

The first time, I remember Mr. T. I was watching the best body guard contest on a Saturday afternoon. It consisted of multiple events. The one event everyone talked about that saw it. The obstacle course to get from the back of the bar to outside the front door of the bar. Mr. T had run the course the fastest. He had an average time up to the last two obstacles (to exit the front doors and stop the time upon reaching the sidewalk outside the bar). He topped everyone time by running thru the doors, thus that was one of those, did you see that on the television over the weekend?. I believed it made the Wild World of Sports back then.

Mr. T was in the American TV show The A-Team. His character caught on and he became a major celebrity with ads and TV appearances. He was a bouncer at bars in Chicago before he got discovered. Most of his tag lines were from the A-Team.

The only punches Rocky ever tried to dodge were from Paulie.

Here is a fun fact. The actor that played Paulie was an actual professional boxer.

This is a great trilogy within the Rocky franchise, where Rock and Creed go from strangers to rivals to friends. And Adrian becomes a rock as well.

All the Rocky movies go together, if you decide to watch the next one, watch them all. They're like chapters in the book of Rocky's life. Especially if you're going to watch the Creed movies it's important to watch all the Rocky movies first. I really don't want to say much more than that about them. I hope you continue with them, your reactions are quite enjoyable. Hope to see them all on here.

In the 70's, celebrities knew they became a household name when they appeared on "The Muppet Show".

26:35 "Was it made for this movie or did they just add that in to fit the song." I think the song _might've_ been made for the movie. I mean, they both came out in '82 and the video for the song features footage from the movie.

This movie introduced Mr. T--then he went on to DC CAB and the tv series THE A-TEAM, which is where you probably know the phrase "I Pity the Fool"

I love the fact that at the premier Mr T's mum cheered when he got beat and berated him for his language in the movie 😂

These always bring back memories. A friend and I would sometimes get out his old NES to play the original Punchout boxing game and after an hour or so we’d end up going out and renting as many Rocky movies available at the store and have a marathon.

If you want to see the real life version of the relationship between Rocky and Apollo, watch the 3 fights between Micky Ward and Arturo Gatti. Amazing fights where they beat the hell out of each other, and afterwards became very close friends. A great introduction to the sweet science.
