As a young man with long hair, I very often got misgendered. I couldn’t have given two hoots. It happened all through my teens. Right up to about 20. I never broke down, I never cried I never freaked out. I never screamed. Why? Mental stability…… let they sink in. It’s NOT being misgendered that makes you react that way, it’s mental instability… and only you can address that.

I had the same experience. I was a gay teen during the emo/scene trend and had long shoulder length hair. Im also gay so i mainly hung out with women and i would constantly be misgendered but i never reacted because i was self confident and assured in who i was and didnt punish myself or anyone else for an honest mistake.

It’s truly insulting for them to say they are having a period. No. You are not. You do not have a uterus that sheds its lining every month and makes you bleed and in intense pain for about a week (for most women)…. Insulting.

I had a girlfriend who has dysmenorrhea and she often has intense prolonged pain during her period. She is often bedridden many times for days because of it. No man can experience that, no matter how many surgeries or hormones they have, and I as a man also think it's insulting and self-centered to think you as a man can experience that. Just like women cannot experience what it's like to be a biological man with testicles, a real penis, and the wiring and plumbing and ups and downs (no pun intended, or was it...?) that come with all of that.

My niece is exactly like this…. She is a lesbian, she calls herself a dike, and she dresses like a guy, shaves her head like a guy, a lot of her mannerisms are that of a man but she fully owns being a woman! She used to want to be a boy when we were young but now as an adult she is completely comfortable and happy in her own skin. She just smiles when people call her sir because it’s the look she is going for but she tells them (when it’s necessary) that she is a girl. She doesn’t make a fuss about it at all. I’m so grateful this nonsense wasn’t popular when we were young because I believe she would’ve been sucked into it, especially since she suffers from bipolar and anxiety disorders.

Because, as an *actual* women (i.e. an adult human female), she was confident in the stability of her identity as a material/physical reality, and therefore something which exists independently of whatever language others refer to her with. This is not the case for those who "identify" as the opposite sex: such an identity depends upon and *requires* the participation of other people-- through their language and how they interact with said person-- in order to be affirmed and validated. If other people don't play along in validating the internal self-perception of a male who "identifies" as a woman, for example, then that identity becomes meaningless. This is why many of them become so irate at "misgendering" and why you'll often hear them refer to it as a "denial" of their "existence".

I have also been misgendered even when I had long hair and a large chest. I am a lesbian but even before I came out people would misgender me... not an issue. I have short hair now and I’m masculine so I can’t and don’t blame them. I am female biologically and have absolutely no desire to be male but at the end of the day others don’t need to validate you. I don’t even have a problem if someone has a issue with me being lesbian as long as they don’t threaten or physically hurt me because again I’m secure in my sexual orientation and don’t need that reassurance or conformation from others and I don’t get to control what others think or feel. To be honest I am so sick of these people.

When I was around 13-14 years old, I was in a friend group who were all very openly queer/bi/trans/gay etc. All were VERY LGBTQ. One day after shopping with my mum (my best friend), in the car on the way home I said to her. "Mum I think I might be Bi." She looked at me in the passenger seat, took 5 seconds and said, "I don't think you are." Guess what? I'M NOT. I was simply leaning that women can look at other women and appreciate their beauty. That was it. The people you surround yourself with influence you HEAVILY, thats why it's important to have several influences of different types, and be open minded.

this is so true! for me it was the internet and a friend. tiktok told us that if we were girls and hated our bodies it meant that we were trans guys. in reality, we were just going through puberty and we were learning to adjust to our changed body. im not saying trans people don't exist, but this blind affirmation of gender dysphoria (without actually trying to see where the actual problem is coming from) is the reason why there are so many detransitioners.
@terecaravaca
@terecaravaca 11 ай бұрын
@@Zeonixibut you can be influenced to that point though. Not that they make you believe it, but more like you are surrounded by it and you begin to think that you might be it too. In high school I had a lesbian friend (who is ACTUALLY lesbian), and for I second I thought I may be one too because I had not had a boyfriend or my first kiss, while all the other girls in the classroom had. I was 15 back then. But then I stopped for a second and realized I was sexually attracted to men. My questioning of my sexuality didn’t last to long, and it was very subtle. But what I’m trying to say is that if I’m very straight, and I often reflect upon myself, my habits and my life, and I like to be logic, ended up having the same doubts because I had a lesbian friend, imagine someone who is constantly surrounded by a whole group of people who is queer (or who think they are), or someone who constantly consumes this kind of media. I honestly don’t think that there are that many gays or lesbian, etc. I mean, there are, but it is a small percentage of people

I introduced her to Amala as well because I love her so much!! I feel more productive role models who are secure and content within themselves and are perfectly fine with not adhering to the hive mind shenanigans going on nowadays are sorely missing… particularly during adolescence which is already such a trying time as it as. I am 33 and still discover new things about myself every single day and so it really hurts me to see so many young people who are so blatantly neglected and lost and are making irreversible decisions that will continue to color their lives / futures forevermore. I say all of this to say I am SO proud of you even though I don’t know you, you will be a shining light to your generation and a great sense of hope that the future won’t just continue to become more and more distanced from reality. You are SO well spoken, well rounded, reality rooted breath of fresh air and a leader in a time where people of all ages are seeming to be so distraught and lost and are looking for ANYTHING or ANYONE to follow / emulate / be “influenced” or affirmed by instead of turning within and learning to give themselves love and it’s really sad.

By condoning one clown, you let in the entire circus. Yes, people like you are partially to blame. I yelled at my daughters school and parents like you, who claimed I was over-reacting and intolerant, because they were being taught by someone who had obvious identity issues. Until at least 3 kids in 1 class started getting identity issues by the time they reached age 6/7, and the school started to teach lgbtq sexuality in grade 2, allowed by the goverment in Canada. By the time she reached grade 3 I had to take her out, as her classmate would say the most vile things, spurred on by her woke parents, due to our personal views on gender Identity and the right for my child to not engage in politics at age 6/7. And I mean death treats. People like the idea of tolerance in theory, until they realize they are tolerating perversity on a much larger ( behavioral) scale than they were barganing for in actual reality.

Now has a teacher too I see how much kids want to get into grown folk’s businesses and how teachers that are part of the LGBT whatever indoctrinate kids into this ideology and way of thinking. It’s also pushed down their throats with the internet and social media and how kids are getting on to these sites at a younger and younger age. I remember when I was in school I didn’t know a damn thing about my teachers personal life I grew up thinking teachers didn’t even have a life outside of school. I remember when people said gay is not a choice. Now they say sexuality and gender are a “spectrum” no the fuck it is not. These people change their gender or sexual orientation at the drop of a hat. Kids shouldn’t be involved or know anything about that. My niece now claims to be a boy and started saying she is trans at the age of 10(now 14)How can anyone really think a 10 year old child can make that life changing decision for themselves? A 10 year old shouldn’t even know what that means. My 11 year old nephew who has never show any romantic interest in girls or boys is now saying he is bi WHY WOULD AN 11 YEAR OLD EVEN THINK OF SEXUALITY? My sister is about to be 30 she’s been married since she was 17 now they are “Polly” and “share” a girlfriend. The world is fucking wild. No one would even think this stuff up if it wasn’t introduced to them in the first place. So now no I would not let my children be taught by a trans person because I do not want them poisoning my kids mind with made up BS. LET KIDS BE KIDS.

The teens ik who are non binary don’t really mention it and deal with being “misgendered” much better than adults who claim to be non binary or trans. Biological woman here: I went with a gay, male friend of mine to an all male clinic and was asked by two people if I was trans. I laughed and said no, they said if I was I’d be the prettiest trans girl ever, and I took it as whatever. I was at an all male clinic, so it’s not a surprise to have people think “wait, she might be a he”. I think that counts as misgendering? lol, even if I was upset about it, I put myself in a situation where it was supposed to be only males and I cannot fault obvious trains of thought.

Someone referred to me as "dude" on my teeny tiny channel, and that doesn't bother me. I am female, but since I don't use a webcam or microphone, there's no way to know my sex so it's a very easy mistake to make. While playing a dino MMO game with a community server though, I referred to a guy with a typically female-sounding name and soft voice as "she" and their friend whom I thought was my friend too proceeded to bite my head off about misgendering them and not checking their profile for pronouns. The one I misgendered in questioned wasn't even that bothered, just the other guy. And apparently that other person brought it up with other people after that, so one of my other friends was being more careful so they wouldn't get harsh verbal treatment from that person as well. That guy then later misgendered a female friend on the server, which I heard about after the fact. I could have given him the same treatment, but I let it go to not stir up unnecessary drama. I'm kinda passive aggressive though, so I really REALLY wanted to.

And now approaching sixty-nine is still my trophy wife even though it is the first marriage for both of us. homeschooling can really screw up a young man. Probably the most essential aspect of raising a boy is to get him involved in team sports, preferably one that's full contact. What's disgusting? Kids do not have difficulty with this. It's the adults that complicate it. When my best friend's daughter was 4 she asked her mom if me and my husband love each other like grandma and grandpa? (My friend was already divorced.) She said yes and that was that. We have been together over 20 yrs and are the best role models for a wholesome, positive and loving relationship that she has. We've been g'uncles ever since. This subject is usually about children who don't even know what sex is yet. They're not sitting around envisioning what we do in bed or what/who they will eventually do in their bed. That's just the adults. I believe that NO ONE has the right to disrupt the natural development of any kids identity. I think it's fine to present as whatever gender you land on even as you are teaching kids, but it is up to my friend to decide when and how she is going to cover that topic with her daughter. The child won't think anything of it. This is only about adults wanting to control what others are doing. It's not that it's misunderstood, it's that there are some that just want the whole queer community not to exist. They can't free themselves so why should we be allowed to? Always the people screaming the loudest about us tarnishing the perfection of christian marriage (as if) are the ones with dozens of skeletons in their closet, often way more perverse and messed up than anything I've ever done. My sister was what we used to call a "Tom Boy". Great at sports, one of the guys, 5'11" tall and strong as hell. Even somewhat masculine facial features. Today they'd have her questioning before she was 10. No. Just no. She's been married to a man for over 35yrs. My neighbor/friend has an 11 year old daughter who fits the description of my sister. Her school gave her a boys name and started talking to her about the subject of transitioning without even consulting her parents. Her dad lost it!! As well he should. Six months later she discovered makeup and that was the end of that. She now looks, and acts, like a perfect little girl. He equated it with trying to start sex Ed on a 10yr old and he's absolutely right. He would not have cared if she wanted to be a he/they/she/them or even an it, but he demanded she be allowed to follow whatever path was toward her true self and not some detrimental side trip into gender dysphoria brought on by someone completely unqualified as a guide.

What children do understand maybe not consciously but the concept of risk vs reward and modifying one’s behavior based on what’s favorable…the problem is when adults use this to then manipulate and coerce their desired outcome as in this case and children because most at heart will repeat behavior that is ‘favorable’ ie the adults positive response/stroking their ego and in addition to this is the context of this ‘programming’ because ‘school’ is where the answers are and ‘rules’ are to be followed (so these ‘adults’ must know what they are talking about and my mommy and daddy trust them)

You shouldn't be bullied into PRETENDING to believe in evidence-free nonsense like "non-binary". Your teacher is an AUTHORITARIAN RELIGIOUS ZEALOT, exactly the same as if she was Christian or Muslim or Scientologist, and demanded her students affirm THOSE beliefs (which have the EXACT SAME standard of evidence of "but it FEELS true, to me, a.k.a "taking it on faith"), as being "truth". Like with those traditional religions, your teacher should be free to believe WHATEVER goofball nonsense she chooses... But she can't demand for YOU, or anyone else, to supress YOUR OWN beliefs, in order to prioritize HER faith-based, evidence-free beliefs, over your own acceptance of simple, evidence-based reality (ie, that an adult human female is A WOMAN, regardless of what made-up jibberjabber she "identifies as) [That said, don't cause needless drama for yourself. Sometimes we just need to accept that life isn't always fair, and pick our battles... But don't buy into the garbage, that what she's doing is "stunning and brave", or "tolerant", or "open-minded", or whatever the narrative is... She is INTOLERANT of non-believers, and an authoritarian bully, abusing her authority as a teacher.]

Over 20 years ago, my daughter's private music teacher decided to go from female to male over Christmas break. When this person came back from break and my daughter had her next private instrumental lesson, this person said please call me (insert traditionally male name). We knew this person was a lesbian and had a female live in partner. It was never discussed in private lessons, it is just something we knew-small town. Lessons always took place in our home, with at least one parent in the home. It was weird, at first, but that was as far as any discussion went. I know this person lost a few of their private students, but we talked to our daughter, who was 14 and asked her how she felt about it. She was ok. There are a lot of people in the music community who are, shall we say, non traditional. This particular teacher was very good at the job and most students went on to be selected for honors orchestras and scholarships. As a Christian family, we felt it was NOT our place to judge, but to continue being an example and witness for Jesus. This person had done all the surgery, and now lives as a man. With a boyfriend. Which does seem odd. The female partner broke up with this person, as she was a lesbian and was attracted to females. Now that this person was male, she was not longer attracted. That part makes no sense to me. But go figure.

Having a daughter is the most degrading thing you can do with your life. As you're trying to raise her to be a good person she is at home doing buss it challenges on TikTok talking to older men probably getting roped into drugs and stripping. Here in Alabama , she probably will run off at 16 too and marry the bastard. Women these days are just a disappointment, imagine you raise the perfect woman , and she never learns any value of hard work and just gets f*cked for a living. I could never, and you're a loser for having a daughter.

Not sure why they had to have an assembly with the kids and parents . They could've sent a letter home to the parents and informed them that way. Anyways they are now no longer in that class with that teacher. My nieces are now in a different class. Oh and this school is a Catholic private school. So we were confused on how this was allowed. And they let us know so late that my sister is unable to find another school that is taking admissions. For the new school year. So pray for us, hopefully we'll find a new school soon.

The point is if there is an identity problem, people should get help, not run away from it. Self love and self acceptance are truely unrelated to one's gender. A gender or a sex or our body in general is just a "form" we were born with. Our beauty and florishing nature lies in sth much deeper and more valuable. We all deserve to find peace regardless of our physical form in this universe. We're all made of stars, never forget that!

@@ankavoskuilen1725 Yes, that is certainly a huge part, if not all of it. It feels like socially acceptable sexism. Unless you grow up and live as a female there is no way you will know what it is like, I do not care how strongly you identify as one. Don't get me wrong, everyone needs to live their own lives unobstructed, but why is it ok for them to think they know what it is like to be a woman (the good and the bad) when to suggest you know what it would feel like to be another race is completely unacceptable. And it should be unacceptable! It feels like women are being reduced to what we are perceived as, not what we are. I really think sexism and ageism are the quiet progressive epidemics right now.

Alot of people are afraid they won't know how to teach their kids, but my mom (who had very low energy and health problems) got me and my siblings through kindergarten-3rd grade, then we did online self-graded curriculums through high school. Then add in co-ops, books, time in nature and encouraging your kids to use their creativity to build and make stuff. It does entail work and care, but not as much as people think. X) Good luck to anyone who travels down this path!

I'm nonbinary. My preferred pronouns are he/him/they/them but I'm not gonna have a huge breakdown/freak out just because I'm referred to as she/her. I mean, I work at a call center so the callers only have my voice to go off of in relation to my gender. The only thing I think I used to get frustrated with was changing my name. I legally changed my name, spent the money, ended up having a huge fallout and going no contact with my bio mother for a few years, but now the only people that will call me by my old name are my stepdad's parents. One is senile and the other one is trying her best. I'm mentally ill but I don't care enough about worrying about some random person. Sidenote: The only time my masculine features did my dirty was when a teacher wouldn't let me go into my birth gender (aka woman) bathroom because he insisted I was a guy. Flattering but I was about to tell him I would piss in his pocket (a joke my fam uses) if he didn't let me go pee.
