The 2015 Rumble specifically for Dolph Ziggler was because of how high his momentum was after being the sole survivor in that Team Cena vs Team Authority with the Sting debut when he survived the 4 vs 1. Thinking about it I kind of agree with the tweet.

The saddest part about Christian is the reported reason why he didn't get the push like Edge did: simply because Vince didn't like his face. Supposedly, Vince pitched the idea of Christian's "gimmick" being Christian wrestling but with a big blue dot over his face. You can see how over Christian got with the peeps, his promo work with the Rock, later on in the WWE and even his run in early TNA as Christian Cage and his heel work in AEW now. Dude is a great worker, is a great talker, really flexible between serious and silly (like Angle's promo work), and is proven as a main event level talent...and the issue with him getting that rub earlier in the fed was something so dumb and petty.

Oh please, even during his last TNA days you could tell his hype was dying down quickly and he was mostly overshadowed by others. Literally the only thing about Christian was his theme songs, which were bangers and helped crowd to care about him, but other than that, he is just an average wrestler with 10x smaller amount of charisma than Edge
@stuartrea3895

@@konepe1653I would suggest that Christian’s current run is better than Edge’s post 2020. Genuinely find Edge matches overly long and boring now, similar to HHH’s. Orton feud was great, so was Rollins, but the Judgement Day vortex has wasted the last year and a half.
@morlun838
@morlun838 Жыл бұрын
@@stuartrea3895 Disagree. The only truly great matches Christian's had since his return are the ones against Kenny, Josh Alexander, and the 6 man with Jurassic Express vs the Bucks and Cole, where Jungle Boy was the story focus and the Bucks were the workrate focus. Edge has had the Orton match at Backlash, the Reigns/Bryan matches at Mania and Money in the Bank, the Rollins Trilogy, AJ Styles at Mania, the Priest match, the I Quit match, the Theory match and the Smackdown Triple Threat. And pretty much everything else he's done is mostly good, with the possible exceptions of the Miz matches, the first Orton match and Balor at Mania (although I would attribute that to the unfortunate injury that stalled the match and the needless cross promotion with the Crowe movie). Christian's had some forgettable/terrible matches, with Frankie Kazarian, Matt Hardy, the Blade, Angelico, Ethan Page, Matt Sydal etc., and some tag stinkers too, like with Kaz against Omega and Cutler, the one with JB against Private Party, or the tag match he had in TNA with Alexander against Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. He's getting that hype now because he's doing effective cheap heat promos while Edge is doing something much harder, but something people take for granted from a legend: being a beloved babyface who gets massive pops every single time he shows up. People are overrating this Christian run because much of the bad stuff is on TV as a midcard match or in TNA, and hence they forget. Whereas everything Edge does is in a main event/featured match or on PPV, so when it's bad or runs long, people notice and remember more. But match for match, moment for moment, even in this current run, Edge is better. And that's not just me saying it. Go look at Cagematch, Meltzer, top lists from the big KZbin channels. Higher average star ratings, high average Cagematch ratings for the matches post return, and actual Edge matches on the best of lists (at least for 2021), no sign of Christian anywhere. Edge is better, and that's no diss to Christian, I'm a diehard E&C fan, watched all his stuff in his 2000s TNA run and love his current heel run. But Edge is just a better wrestler and bigger star.

@@morlun838 yeah on reflection definitely harsh on Edges run. I really haven’t enjoyed much of it post the Miz feud in late 2021 early 2022. After that it’s been an underwhelming AJ feud and a year of Judgement Day shenanigans. With regards to him being a bigger star of course he is! Largely due to VKM having a weird agenda against Christian.

Wrestling in the attitude era was not old school. Matches were extremely quick and rapid. There was more matches during the altitude era per card then ruthless aggression. As someone who recently went through and watched the attitude era week by week, it was a fucking nightmare. 90% of the matches ended up with run ins or dqs and there were only 3-4 people in the company at any given time who could cut a decent promo. The moments when they happen are big and bombastic but having to trudge through 4-5 episodes of raw without a single good match only to get to a ppv that has 1 good match maybe 2 if it's one of the big 4 is absolute hell.

The problem with Bray is that they write him like the Undertaker but they don't book him to win like the Undertaker. Roman being the one to end the streak is an interesting take. As someone who has staunchly held the stance that the streak should have remained intact I might agree with this take provided that it would be the Tribal Chief Roman reigns who beats Taker not the Big Cringe Dawg Roman Reigns. But since those Eras don't collide I will default to old faithful and say the streak should not have ended.

@@Arjay404Brock 100% benefited from ending the streak. It was because of it we got the Brock we have and know today. The Streak ALWAYS needed to end. Fans shit on this, but it's true. Foley's career was defined by the Cell and he hated it. But now, he and Taker know it'll outlast their very lives and be talked about in great reverence for the moments it produced. Ending the Streak will be a moment that will always be talked about, and won't allow Taker's career to be.. "He was alright, but man.. you should have seen him at Wrestlemania!" He deserves more than that. He deserves to be remembered for two legendary Cell matches. To be remembered as the literal master of reinvention. As one of the most dedicated and iconic presences to step forth in a wrestling ring. Edge had presence, an energy, and a dynamic that Christian lacked. EDGE, NOT BRAY, was the one wrestler most like Taker. Technically the most sound? Nope. Possessed the most iconic PRESENCE? YEAH. Edge was like HBK in his prime, but faster. Stronger. And genuinely.. smarter in the ring. HBK inspired guys like Jericho, and Danielson and he deserves credit for that. But it's clear the torch was passed from Taker to Edge when the former was dealing with some crazy injuries. And Taker had to hang around after Edge was hurt. Hell, I can't count how many matches those two had, it's so obvious Taker most preferred working with Edge and that he was grooming him to succeed him in the ring. If Edge hadn't have been forced to retire, Taker would have retired FAR sooner.

If L A Knight is discount Rock/Austin then Dolph is discount HBK/Jericho, Gable is discount Angle, Wyatt is discount Taker/Kane, Rollins is discount Macho Man, Cena is Discount Hogan, Ambrose is Discount Foley and Roman is Upgraded Evolution Triple H. And all the previous versions are probably discount versions of other characters as well. It's a lazy argument and doesn't really mean anything because Knights over as fuck and it's been built organically without WWE even pushing the man. Knight's here to stay as long as we the people have a say in it. That's not a statement, that's just a fact of life! Yeah!!

They're right about Dolph. It was criticized by fans that WWE tried to make him into the next HBK/Jericho well over a decade ago and it's pretty obvious, and backstage reports came out that they saw him as that, confirming it. Probably what buried his career, TBH. Cena is the modern day Hogan. This is common knowledge. It's not a bad thing, though. Ambrose/Moxley has always compared to Foley because of his insane, reckless wrestling style, and he took it up a notch in AEW. It's not a lazy argument, it's misguided. Knight is not organic. He started off as a meme, and fans jokingly wanted him to get a push. Now, fans have forgotten what they originally saw him as and are believing their own bullshit that he should be a world champion/face of the company. He can be over as much as humanly possible. You and the rest of the fans have no say in anything, and he's never gonna hold a world title in WWE. He's gonna stay in the midcard and chase the US title until he retires in a few years. That's not a statement, that's just a fact of life! YEAH!

Production was top tier and some wrestlers I didn’t like (takes time) but overall I actually enjoyed it. Then comes the reason I started to hate it… it’s not really the wrestlers fault, it’s the people on Twitter accounts who are “NXT Stans” or “Cora Jade Stans” or “Tiffany Stans” who are so annoying and treat a simple Moonsault as a revolutionary move that’s show how incredible a certain individual is and of course their shit talking as well. Which leads me to not like the wrestlers because some shitty account represents them. Internet screwed it up for me not necessarily the product itself.

The thing about Roman being champ for so long is that back in the day of Bruno & all the other record breaking reigns is they weren’t putting on weekly episodic shows. Wrestling events weren’t as regular so on one hand what Roman is doing is more impressive (despite being part time ish) but on the other hand we’re seeing so much more wrestling that we get tired of Roman holding the belt & want to see someone else become champ. Orton's in the my Top 3 on most lists while Cena doesn't make my Top 10 but there's is no disputing the fact that the man who turned Vince's million dollar company into a billion dollar company was John Fucking Cena. He's still moving merch today and his name is synonymous with wrestling just like Hogans was back in the day. Cenation is a cultural movement just like Hulkamania was, these movements transcend wrestling and is why Cena's name is recognisable globally while Orton is only known to people who watch the product. Then Sammy got involved and Sammy was great. But the main work was from Sammy and Heyman and the Usos and their actions and reactions. The Roman character is far better than anything he did before this, but he himself has not been the driving force.

Don't know why so much hate for judgement day,the storyline is very entertaining (the reason why raw is being watched) people like finn are so underrated he has done so much for the company and wrestling industry and not given much respect(No one even credits him for Bullet Club-they say aj,cody,Kenny...but he was the one who brought life to it).Same goes with people like dolph and corbin

Hot Take: Roman was always the best shield member
@greatnessdelton1381
@greatnessdelton1381 Жыл бұрын
Agreed, not a hot take. He had the look, the physique, and he clearly had the charisma and promo skills, it was hidden by bad scripts and booking. Seth's better at his character work, look at how his evolved, but that's it. Dean's 100% the least talented member. He's still good, obviously, but he's just not as proficient or well-rounded as Seth and Roman.

Early Undertaker was very meh since his character was still just a walking zombie. His moveset was very brutish (of course) and his promos were OK for what the character was. By the Attitude Era Undertaker had evolved to be a well rounded wrestler and his promo work reached full potential. The American Badass Undertaker kicked his in-ring work to yet another level, and post-American Badass his work was elite. I mean dude was doing over the top rope dives to the outside.

People piss me off with the whole “LA is trying to be The Rock & Stone Cold” BS… do we not realize everyone steals from everyone in wrestling? Hulk Hogan ripped his whole gimmick from Billy Graham, Ric Flair ripped his whole gimmick from Buddy Rogers, including the nickname, Max Caster is Thuganomics Cena with more edge because he can actually curse and it fits better because he’s black, Rhea and Dom took inspiration from Chyna & Eddie, Kevin Owens literally started using the Stunner when he became “Anti-Authority” like Austin… please stop with this people. LA Knight took inspiration from Rock & Austin and made it his own, he’s not trying to be them 🤦🏾‍♂️🙄

It's unlivable how you 2 really tried to defend Taker's promos when he had a bunch a god awful promos like the snake skin boots promo or telling the rock to go under the learning tree and saying ( and that's a quote) '" I crippled more people then polio" but hey whatever floats your boats

"Orton did more for the business than Cena" is one million percent true if you take "the business" to mean the company and staff and not us watching at home. Cena makes the money, sure, but Orton makes the people. Cena is accounts receivable, Orton is accounts payable. How many stars did Cena make? I can't name one, maybe Theory? Orton, though? Legacy? Cody ain't shit without Randy. The New Wyatt Family? Peak, except the Mania match. Fuckin carried Jinder into a good feud. And that's just the guys we saw on TV, backstage among the boys he's easily the best to work with.

-Both Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler really didn't have a chance to become legit Champs due to Vince constantly pushing John Cena and Roman Reigns while ignoring most of the other stars that were massively over with the fans. Look how Drew and Cody had to go to other companies then come back. I think Mox is overrated because of how many death matches he's doing. I think if Vince had let Dean be more violent Dean would kick Mox's ass as Dean was more calculated than Mox is. I believe if Ziggler left and came back he'd be on par with Cody and Drew simply because he is the go to guy to push any talent and damn near strap a rocket to their backs. Not to mention how many stars think he got shafted too many times. His selling, his charisma, his promos, and his technical wrestling are honestly all better than Edge. That all gets over shadowed by his ability to enhance talent. Would I say he's overall better than Edge? No simply because all the prolific matches Edge had and the fact he had a better CHARACTER than Dolph(if he had storylines that actually lasted then I'd say something different) -As for Undertaker promos his mic work was like a rollercoaster he had great promos and some really bad promos. But he did way more promos than these two think. Also they were clearly biased lol. -The only two complaints I have about the bloodline story are that A) the story took way too long and B) it's the only story that was actually thought out long term(if they put half the energy into any other story then the roster would have way more credible stars to face Roman or Seth for the titles and more teams to face Kevin and Sammy) I said what I said

My takes that are inspired by this video. Dolph is easily the most underrated and underutilised stars on the roster for his entire "Dolph" character. The Bloodline is a great storyline, but the tit-for-tat is boring. Roman lowblowing Jey was dumb. He's already done it years ago. They need to stop uneventful and drawn out promos, and just go a week without making them front and centre. I actually enjoyed the concept of the Knight/Wyatt Mountain Dew match. The black light looked sick, so I would be happy seeing another match like it again. Randy should return as the Legend Killer 2.0. The Bloodline are the reason he has been out for a year. He comes back, meaner than ever, and dethrones the latest legend, Roman. Can lead to a program against Riddle or Edge, leading to retirements. Judgment Day is meh. Rhea and Dom are the only things keeping it going. Finn is floundering, and Damian, while a hard worker, is boring to watch and listen to.

With all the thing with LA Knight just watch what wwe roster has, Rhea Ripley its a little ripoff of chyna, Dominick as well with Eddie, as Damien Priest with Scott Hall also, the LWO its back and whith all of this going everybody just see LA Knight and says its a copy? come on, all of they are inspirations
@ericgropuis

Hulk Hogan took so much from Superstar Bill Graham who took from Gorgeous George. Ric Flair took Buddy Rodgers nickname and also took from Gorgeous George. LA Knight takes inspiration from The Rock and Stone Cold but isn’t copying them he’s doing it with his own twist on it. Media as a whole does that so many people take something that they like and then turn it into their own thing. You can track down every strongman baby face back to Bruno. There hardly anything original in wrestling and that’s ok. You should only really call someone a wish version or copy of someone else if it’s just so obvious that’s what they are doing without trying to change it.

Pro wrestling is just not the right format for what Bray Wyatt is trying to do. He has such a unique and creative mind that would excel in writing for TV, movies, or video games. For his ideas to work in the context of wrestling, the entire promotion would have to be based around it. It doesn't play nice with everything else going on around it.

06 DX was also good becuase it was meta. Essentially they were presented as two almost Middle age dudes trying to be edgy like they were when they were younger but weren’t. This made it funny becuase they were still entertaining, great in the ring, but you could also laugh both with and at them. The 2010 dx was extremely water down, and was there to sell merch. Didn’t work.

I think that legend killer Randy Orton was the best choice to break the streak. He did decline that option out of respect for everything Taker was and did for the business which I can't fault him for as I respect Taker a lot myself. However I think him breaking the streak back then would've done a lot for his career.

My hottest take is one that I understand is extremely unpopular. It has to be, or it wouldn't be an opinion that would be possible. I believe that Bret Hart is the most overrated wrestler of all time. When he was the top face of the company, it almost went out of business. Him leaving WWE was really the turning point in the Monday Night Wars. WWE/F did more great things because of his absence than they could have done with his presence.
