First of all, Jim saying he's having a load of coffee and having a WEE at the end is a lie. Everyone who drinks coffee knows it's not a wee. I agree with Flav RE Mbappe. Genuinely. He's such a bore. EDIT. Also, at 45 minutes (ish) the conversation of Howe is mad. I'm a Geordie and these comments of Howe hitting his ceiling is mental. I'm about to hit the fucking ceiling. Howe has been excellent, he has got players who were bang average or less playing great champions league football. That's not a manager hitting his ceiling. My concern is recruitment/medical staff. It's mad how many injuries we've had that are re-ocurring. The recruitment is lackluster, but we're hamstrung by FFP. Howe isn't reaching his ceiling, Newcastle and what we CURRENTLY have in place is reaching its ceiling. We need to expand on/improve the club whether it's recruitment or medical and we'll smash that ceiling soon enough.
@LongoHighlights Жыл бұрын
Yea the Howe stuff is mind boggling, look at the injuries they have.. look at the squad as a whole. It's 3/4 elite players, and the rest are just hard workers with bottom 5/championship levels of quality. The expectations changing after finishing top 4 has stopped anyone from being realistic about what that squad can do let alone what the manager can supposedly do.

How far we've come! As for him being linked with England, I personally don't see it working. His best attribute is his ability to coach players and maximising their potential, which he wouldn't be given the time to do as an international manager. He has transformed so many of players, every single one has got better under him.

Surely, and doubly surely, Romero will get tempted to Real Madrid at some point in the next two years as the overdue natural replacement for the Red Card Legend himself Sergio Ramos? Spurs double their money on him and Romero fulfils every Latin Americans dream of becoming a highly paid Galactico. In my head it’s a done deal already. That’ll pave the way for guaranteed first-team football for Dragusin once he’s had a season and a half of “covering” to find his Prem League feet.

Good clean fun at the football: Newcastle's chant "N and an E and a W - C , A and an S and a T - L - E, U and N - I, T - E -D, Newcastle United... FC!" has for years been a chant that has been a source of good clean fun. The afforementioned ellipsis before the "FC!" elicits a pause of disputed duration. Though it usually lasts for around half a second, its undetermined length predisposes less rhythmically gifted Geordies in the crowd to be unsure of when to unleash their "FC!". So, while the rest of the chant is mostly uniform, the "FC!" is asynchronous. In time, the crowd has become self-aware of their meager execution of the "FC!". Rather than making a concerted effort to ammend their disorganisation, fans instead decided to worsen it to a comical degree. Now, you can expect an "FC!" a half-second from the rest of the chant... and another a second later, and occasionally, when an individual is feeling particularly comedically inclined, perhaps fifteen seconds later. Always, it is ejaculated with gusto. What started as a facetious source of self awareness has now remained a staple of good clean fun at St. James' for many, many years. You'd think it would get old, but hearing a belated "FC!" will never fail to draw a smile and a light-hearted roll of the eyes from the Newcastle faithful.

As a Liverpool fan I just roll my eyes and laugh at the whole Mbappe thing (as I think nearly every Liverpool fan older then 12 does) like we have the money to bring him in, not to mention EVERYONE knows he's going to Madrid. 9:30 As a Liverpool fan, unofficial fan accounts have been touting Mbappe transfer links for at least 3 years and it always makes me laugh; there's no way that Mbappe would fit into Liverpool's wage structure. The more that you look at the transfer the worse it gets: the wage structure issue; personality issues and the subsequent effect on the squad; four players can already play left wing -- all fairly glaring problems. My mums team Darlington essentially went to the wall because of the owners bad money management and speculation by building a white elephant stadium. They had to start again at the bottom of the football pyramid with the club now fan owned and run. Isn't the only difference between them and Everton or City the fact that they could break the rules to get themselves out of the debt. So they did the same thing but one did extra cheating to get out of it and the one who didn't cheat but had the same spending model was not just kicked out of the league they were in but sent to the very bottom to essentially start again. Surely those who can afford to start again should start again and those who can't survive that punishment have a lesser but equivalent punishment at their level.

They're in a long rebuild and have overturned almost the entire squad. If they sack Poch, you're restarting the rebuild with a new manager who prob doesn't want the current set of players. Mbappe should do a January loan to the Premier league at a Sheffield United sort of team if he plays well keeps them up best player ever if it all fails we'll it's not his fault the teams shit

People write letter O clockwise which for me is weird given how you write a, c, d, g etc.

As an LFC fan, keep Mbappe away from my club. The man is selfish and childish. Unless he fixes his attitude he'll always be the new neymar, never the next messi. Even if he does, footballers should never be getting paid half a mill a week!

Mbappe is the most overrated player in the world. i agree with Flav, i am so sick and tired of hearing about Mbappe constantly. Mbappe isn`t even the best player in the french team, that is Griezmann, but everyone wanks of Mbappe

With the wanker gesture to away fans, it’s a fine line between good hearted fun and aggression. If it any point you find yourself moving up onto your tip toes in pure anger while doing it, you’ve crossed the line. Height of arm also important. If your hand is rib height or lower, it’s good clean fun

Flavs not wrong. Who cares. Once him and Neymar are done and finished it will be cleaner air all round. Love it COYS. *Unless he comes to Spurs.

The lads are both right and wrong about Chelsea. Flav is spot on about Chelsea fans needing to just face the reality of where we are and adjust our expectations. What they aren’t spot on about is Poch. Poch hasn’t been awful but there are consistent issues that he refuses to rectify. The misprofiling of player has been ridiculous. The refusal to deviate from Colwill at LB or enzo and Gallagher in their positions is ridiculous. He got the same complaints at PSG. He was playing Kimpembe at LB and Veratti 10, almost identical to Colwill LB Enzo 10. He doesn’t look like he’s evolved tactically since 2017/18. Yiu watch Chelsea and the same issues persist every game. Caicedo is playing alone in midfield. Enzo is running in behind from 10. Levi Colwill is overlapping. It doesn’t work. Also, you look at the players we have they’re all very gifted technically, they need a different type of tactical approach. They need a De Zerbi or Slot. That style of football, high dominance, high possession, intricate football. Most importantly they need someone that can profile them right. That’s why De Zerbi works for me. He’s used parts of this squad to its best levels in the past and plays the style of football this squad is built for. Anywho it’s just 22 blokes running around for fake points and some tin. Night boys x

It’s easy to say that about Chelsea and tbh I think we are being patient. I think all we are asking for is to see we’re moving forward but you can’t see any progress what so ever that’s what the problem is

i dont know… i expect a lot more from james when it comes to the pochetino chelsea conversation. if it is a project, why stop it now? flav is correct! we need to let this experiment play out because the constant start and stop with new coaches will only destabilize the club further. give poch time and if things keep going the way they are now two years down the line, sack him! but these players are on eight year contracts, none of this project is short-term. we are no longer in the abramovich era. usually i agree with james, but i think flav is right on the money with this one. brilliant pod as always. also… who cares if chelsea doesnt do well… i certainly dont.

I write my S’s upside down like Flav. Nearly 30 and only realised it was weird a few weeks ago when a co worker told me they thought it might be a serial killer because of it. Relieved to find out I’m not the only one

I agree with the co worker. I’ll wait to see your name in the news.

The boys are talking facts on breaking FFP rules should mean relegation. They did it in rugby for the Saracens for exactly the same offence. For those who don't know, Saracens are the rugby equivalent of Man City
