This was super early into MLP’s run! Modern Rainbow Dash would obliterate Starscream much faster. She can literally make a nuke sized explosion just by flying full speed and crashing into something.

After figuring out the powers of the ponies, i have come to the conclusion that they could wage war on Asgard. I'm not saying they win, but the MLP ponies could certainly try. They are basically on the level of deific beings. Im also not saying they lose, im not the guy who can make that call.

Ponies have mountain level magic barriers, super speed spells (changing their speed on fox quicksilver level) and reflexes that allow them to dodge laser beams that are almost travelling with the speed of the sound (~340 m/s) (also tag targets moving at that speed). Doesn't need to add cloning spell that allow them to make unlimited amount of 100% accurate copies of themselves and tranfigurating spells which are able to oneshot anything what doesn't have magic resistance (transfiguration ignore durability). Yup they are pretty strong

I think the ponies would lose that war, because although they do have some really strong ones. Unless the handful of Alicorns, handful of powerful unicorns (and Rainbow Dash) could end the war really fast overpowering everyone in Asgard. Then your going to have armies going against armies.. In which case ponies are screwed. Technology gap, lack of killing mindset, battle strategy, little experience with war. They'd just get slaughtered. If you watch the season 5 finale of MLP you do get to see Equestria embroiled in a total war (in an alternate timeline thanks to time travel) And they really do piss poor at fighting. When they gotta go to war without enough OP characters to save the day. Also because their spears and swords magically disappear as soon as the fighting starts to keep it G-rated.

Even though I agree with "GITS29", I need to point out a few things about the armies: In the finale it was ponies vs ponies, if warring with Asgard, it would be vs kind-of-humans or actual humans, depending on whether you're talking Marvel Comics or something closer to actual myth. Then mind you, the ponies have pegasi, and a lot of them can control and affect the weather by themselves, and even more if together (see winter-wrap-up, towards the end). My point is, it could be more close-fought on the soldier front than you think.

RubberyCat, your not wrong if the pegasi can be used effectively in combat that is a big game changer. But there's no cover in the sky, and if they don't have or can't use concealment. Then their basically sitting ducks, just one AA gun and you'll have a bloody massacre. And using clouds will work the first time, but probably not the second time once the enemy knows whats up. If your into reading fanfiction highly recommend the Stardust series. Where the ponies do end up going to war against the XCOM aliens and not doing to bad. But I consider that an AU not cannon ponies :p. The Pegasi in that story for the most part, very effective in Urban combat. and close quarters where they can move with cover.

AA-gun? ....Anti-aircraft, I assume. Weren't we talking Valhalla here? Hm, sure, they have their kind of artillery pieces as well from what I remember from a movie if we talk Marvel, and a more mythical version might have some as well if they hung on until modern times. Yet still, they are smaller than regular aircrafts, meaning much harder to hit. They are also slower .... or are they? Sure, we cannot take RD as an example as she is among the fastest or even THE fastest even without the sonic rainboom. But, being prepared for aircraft requires that one see the planes coming. The pegasi is not that visible unless they travel in group, and after a fast strike they can disperse in all directions. *********************************************************************************************************************** I'm not much for Fanfics, but I do like crossovers and crossing genres. ^_^
