Wherever I May Roam has a middle Eastern vibe in the beginning, probably for that nomad theme. A pretty cool song. James and Lars wrote it about being on the road all the time. Don't Tread on Me is based on the famous flag with the coiled snake and it's on the lower right of the album cover.

Finally someone who really gets what Don’t Tread On Me is about…it’s not a political song, it’s about our military. We may not agree on what the conflict is about…but our veterans are the ones out there fighting regardless, and are owed that respect!!! Awesome reaction…that was beautiful! And your comments about it are well stated. Thank you to your families service I absolutely would like to see what you want to share about your family’s military background for sure!

I don't know if you remember, but in the video where you reacted to the song Sad But True, before you started Metallica Saturday, I suggested that you listen and react to Wherever I May Roam at that time, and I said that you might like it very much. Now a few months later we can see that I was totally right and you loved this song hahaha. I knew it.

Don’t worry about calling a song your fav. There’s so many favorite songs I can’t even say that I have just one favorite album. I would say that the 80’s was my favorite decade for METALLICA but I also loved the last 2 albums. Also feeling the most recent singles they have put out for the soon to be released album. Great reaction! Nothing wrong with holding Wherever I May Roam so high. It’s def one of the best songs off this album, if not the best. I still hold Unforgiven as the best, but it’s easily a top 20 ish Metallica song and I wouldn’t argue if it’s in someone else’s top ten.

Wherever I may roam is in my top 5 along with battery, blackend, one and outlaw torn. Don’t know where I rank it in the top 5 though as it changes all the time.

I seen Metallica from the time when they were openers with kill them all to headliners all the way through to this album The Black album is the last concert I ever seen because the rest of the music they have made since then to me has fallen short of what they started with. Great reaction! It can be argued that the songs on this album are less complex than their older stuff and this is the album where they started to move away from their thrash roots, which led to some fans being disappointed in Metallica's new direction, but the production is next level.

Nah. Unlike more complex songs like Master Of Puppets, Wherever I May Roam has a simple, constant beat and can easily be picked up within the first few bars of the song. I was tapping along to the beat within the first 20 seconds when I first ever heard the song. If you'd watched more of her videos you'd know she doesn't fake anything.
