Ben Folds mentioned that Kirstin had been sick - this (8th) performance was about a half hour or so after the last one (Born to be Wild) as by this point in the season they were singing two songs per episode. Having Kirstin sing lead in this, when they weren’t sure if her voice would hold up, was brave, but many reactors I’ve seen have been underwhelmed by this performance. I personally think they were smart to keep it short and sweet, and Kirstin shows her professionalism.

Pause or don't but make it your choice cause I have seen these vids a million times. I'm watching for your reactions tbh. I get some people don't like the pausing but, dude, it's a REACTION not a run-through 🤷♀️ Also, "dog days" is epic and may change your mind on their best performance, just sayin 😊

Man you've become one of my favorite reactors and my appreciation for Pentatonix has grown with each and every video of yours.

I like when you pause it, personally. If I wanted to watch the video uninterrupted, I could watch a dozen other videos. But I'm here because of you and your thoughts, so pause away if theres something you want to say!

That’s funny that you mentioned Mitch’s makeup. He said “god they caked the makeup on my face” during this song when Superfruit (Scott and Mitch’s side project)reacted to Pentatonix on the sing off. I hope you’ll watch it after you’re done with their sing off performances. It was 4 years after they won and it’s funny to see how badly they cringe at watching their former selves.

As some others have said, pause and comment as you feel moved to because this is a reaction video. If someone wants to just watch the performance, they can watch the video itself. I love seeing your expression when you’re surprised by something! Btw, I loved the “TM” next to your head when you said “My concerns are gone”. 🤣

I think that their purposeful simplicity highlighted their talent even more. I’m new to watching your channel but have since subscribed as I love the content along with your appreciation for music. “Music is what feelings sound like” and your joy is contagious - exactly what we need during this pandemic 💜 Thank you and please tell your dad he’s in my prayers 🤗

Pausing is an unfortunate fact of life for reactors, so don't worry, we get it. This performance was when I submitted Kirstie's name for membership in the "Cutest People On The Planet" club. And, yeah, Avi made me laugh as well.

I know Kirsten was sick during one episode (with two performances) and I think this may have actually been one of them. Nevertheless she's good here, but I do also think her youth shows here. In more recent years she takes command of a stage a lot more when she leads. Edit - okay, Ben's comment just confirmed my memory.

Kyle Kholin I just love watching your face while listening to reviews. You know SO MUCH MORE than I do about music and musical voices. Watching and listening to you is really motivating me to taking voice lessons and rediscovering a past love of my life. Thank you Kyle ! BTW you are sexy WITH the hat, and you are sexy WITHOUT the hat bro. Just please - never, ever, ever, ever, ever shave the beard. Unless you give up prior warning dude. HUGS.

So funny you called out Kirstie when you paused. I was gonna comment afterwards to tell you to go back and watch your face every time Kirstie smiles. You immediately smile back. They switch cameras, your smile goes away. Back to Kirstie. She smiles. You smile. I just started watching you watch her. I get it, bro. I'm goofy for that smile, too! 😂

I’ve been binging all of your videos and I absolutely love them. And I actually prefer it when you pause and talk about what you just saw or what just occurred. If I wanted to watch the whole thing through I would watch the original video of myself. But I’m watching this for your reaction to it. That said whether you wanna pause or not, it should be up to you. This is your show and the way you do it is the most entertaining

It was a very risky choice because of Sara Bareilles' connections to Sugarland. When she said they were her buddies, she wasn't kidding. Just a few months earlier, Sara was the opening act for Sugarland. Sara had just left the stage at the Indiana State Fair before Sugarland came on when the stage collapsed in a storm, killing 5 fans and injured 40. That obviously really bonded Sara to Sugarland, going through that tragedy together. And this was filmed only a few months after that event, so it was no doubt fresh in her mind. They had to nail this one because of that connection. And as always, they did.

I personally don't mind when reactors pause as long as it's not too often and as long as you have insightful things to say in between pauses, which you do :)
@kattia19734 жыл бұрын
I would always rather you pause and talk, then talk over the video. When reactors do that I tend to get really turned off. How can you react to the whole thing if you are talking over it? Well done, btw, as always. I am always glad to see your videos pop up. 😘💖

actually it helps them not get taken down. i hate it too but if it helps us see them react to it i can get used to it!

kattia1973 I agree the amount of times I’ve seen reactors miss small but important details because they’re talking and didn’t hear it.

@@supposedly1-2 how does talking over a video and not pausing the video help them from not being taken down? And what exactly does being taken down mean? The video is removed by youtube? That makes no sense. I am not trying to be b@tchy..I just don't understand.

They were true to the song with the reggae drop. It was part of the original song Scott just pushed it to the limit.

Honestly I prefer the pauses. I watch the original videos for the music, and I watch the reactions for reactions - so I'd prefer pausing to talking over and possibly missing something, or us not being able to hear you over the music. And I'd prefer pausing when you have something to say, rather than waiting to the end and possibly forgetting it... Especially with you lol, your insights are always so interesting. And yeah, they caked makeup onto Mitch. You can see breakouts on his face in the 'behind the scenes' stuff that they cover up when they're on stage.

First let me say I love watching react. I subscribed the first time I saw you. As to you pausing. Go for it! Your comments make your reaction genuine. I feel like I've watched all of your Pentatonix videos. I suggest you watch, Imagine cover. Elvis's I can't help falling in love with you or when fools rush in. In sorry i can't remember the exact title.the White Winter Hymnal. It is so cool. And from the Lion King, Can You Feel the love Tonight. There's also, You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch. Showing the new bass singer. I think his name is Matt. Also, Come Along, it's really really a fun song. And I think you have only seen 1 evolution of Michael Jackson. Watch the Evolution of Music and pay attention to the 60's. And last but not least try Silent Night. It was filmed live. Keep Pentatonix coming. I haven't heard anything bad from them. The carol of the bells, Sound of Silence. Sorry I could go on. Enjoying your show. Keep pausing, keep your reactions true! Thanks, Evelyn Nore

Unlike a lot of Pentaholics, I think #7 is the best of their performances, but 10 and 12 are also outstanding (you'll see why during 10, and 12 is undoubtedly why they won the season, because that performance is fire, and the arrangement was perfect for an effect that really only they could have done of all of the groups that season. As a side note, you have the Space Needle in your new avatar pic (underneath Loki). Are you in Seattle? I'm in Olympia (at least for another month, after which I'm moving back to Florida). Your "about" page is pretty spartan, so I had no idea you were here.

The reggae section saved this song for me...sorry, country makes me cringe... And as for Avi's dance moves, those **ahem** cowboy boots nearly made him slide right off the stage! I would never have forgiven the Sing-off for having a 'country' themed section had he fallen and broken something because of those boots!! As it is... still irritates me to think about it.

Great reaction, as usual. I don't mind the pauses - not that many, and your comments warrant them. This is probably my least favorite SO performance. I loved Kirstie's part, both at the beginning and at the end. They did this performance and Born to Be Wild on the same night, so Kirstie was really digging deep. The reggae part didn't work for me, with Scott riffing and belting over the others. He also does it in #10, and it works, but you'll see that one soon.
