Excellent song. One of my favorite songs from Pet Shop Boys, but it's hard to choose because they have so many great songs.

I always loved how they did a great ending, especially their earlier songs. I love the epicness of them.

In my opinion, "Can You Forgive Her?" is in the top five pop songs of all time and the music video is in the the top five of music videos of all time. I love it. All the videos of the singles off Very are very cool.

I love this Song so much , Rolands JD-800 was used Heavy in this prod🎉 this song paints the era of the early nineties for me. Auto cad 3-D Studio calculates these effects in the video it all took ages, and you needed a lot of faster computers, today it all looks easy, but back then it was just forward-looking

Very pleased you did this one. One of my favourites by my favourite band. I remember the day it was released and I rushed out to Woolworths to buy it! (a shop in the UK that no longer exists.) This was the era when the first CD single was released, then a week later the second CD single came out, with extra remixes and b-sides, which I loved 😊

Lol, F. W. Woolworth was an American company (although I think it came under British ownership in the 80s). It carried a very odd mix of products, records certainly, but I also remember the pick'n'mix candy bar, toys and fairly crappy gardening equipment.

Pet shop boys are releasing a triple cd singles collection called smash in June. They also have an EP called lost coming out next month, and bizarrely have a song called living in the past.......singing with Neil in the guise of vladamir Putin!

Wow, a father teaching a son to listen and appreciate Pet Shop Boys is a father who should be preserved by Unesco as cultural heritage. 😂 I loved Pet Shop Boys back then. Chris Lowe is an engineer and Neil Tennant a journalist. Everybody thought thew were a couple in life, buy they were not.

@@paulwells9882 i always think of Chris Lowe's reaction on the commentary of each song they did, and when it came to too many people he simply said, oh it's just another list song 🤣

The song is about a man who is not treated very well by his girlfriend, as he cannot be the man who she expects. Also, they mention about his gay experience when he was younger. It's a quite complex topic.

Since you are time traveling with PSB, I would suggest jumping ahead another decade, and check out 2013's "Thursday". It is so NOT typical PSB, and yet it is. It's one of their hits from the "Electric" album (their biggest seller in 20 years). If neither of you has heard it, you can make it a dual reaction. (Did The Weeknd" get his stage name from the lyrics of "Thursday"?)

And let's not forget a discussion about the lyrics... there is a bit of ambiguity there, but let's face it... he's talking about a man married to a woman coming to terms with his homosexuality.
