For people wondering why we need such big guns in North america... look up what a bull moose is. Or a grizzly. Luckily we only have black bears where I live and they get the literal shit scared out of them by a common house cat. Those fucking rabbits though they tear up your garden and if the pellet gun doesn't keep them away you may need a 22. A slingshot works well too

In the Netherlands "poor men's food" is still quite popular. It's basically mashed potatoes with a vegetable and some meat, often smoked sausage. And some gravy or could be stewed meat (cheap cut) instead of the sausage. Sometimes I like to make it more interesting by throwing in herbs or spices and give it an Indian, Mexican, French or Italian twist. It's always better when it's baked up the next day, especially when it develops a crust.

Well, Whitefish is where my father-in-law built a cabin on Lion Mountain in 1982! He was born in Fort Benton, his parents homesteaded there. He never could get Montana out of his system. After he passed we stupidly sold the cabin. It is worth so much money now! Last summer we bought a small home close to Glacier in Hungary Horse. We also can not get enough of Montana. The area is booming and prices are crazy! But, for so many years we summered in Whitefish! It is also where I had my only experience with a bear. It was the very last time at the cabin we were prepping it for winter when I went behind the cabin and almost walked into the bear. Funny thing for years our 4 sons ran around outside. Never saw a bear! The. Flathead Valley is amazing! Should be spending almost the whole summer there!

"For personal work 15 hours is ok, but for other's it's too much." That is exactly my attitude. I have coworkers who call me lazy, because I don't volunteer for overtime and don't want to do work seven days a week, 12+ hours a day. I don't want to work those hours to make someone else rich. I make what I need to live the life I want without it. But I've spent 14/15 hours a day working on my own property, helping a family member, helping a neighbor, etc. etc. And those "personal" working hours, leave me feeling happy and fulfilled at the end of them. Whereas just putting in 8 hours as the factory I work in, leaves me feel miserable by the time I get home.
@LordPrometheous2 жыл бұрын
your coworkers are mindless sheep and when it's too late in life, they'll realize that working long hours only gets more work thrown at you since you don't mind the abuse, especially if it's making the company rich and making the employees dead tires with no home life.

Don't I remember...back in 2001 I worked at a Mfg plt blending Oil for making margerine...in my first 4 years I was on 13 hour shifts almost every day from 11pm to 12pm the next day, and the only shift I only worked 8 hours was when we shutdown early on Sat. mornings to clean the machines and mixers on the Fri. night/Sat. morning shift, but many times we would only close down on Sundays... and often when we were closed on Sunday it meant I would have to go in on that next Monday at 3am to get the Hot oil ready for them to begin at 7am, all because the first shift Mixer didn't want to come in before 7am so they made me do it instead, because of less seniority. So I would have to go in on what was supposed to still be my weekend, but instead of letting me leave when the first shift mixer came in most times I would have to stay and cover for any first shift worker who didn't come to work that morning, up until 11am, then only have 12 hours off... I admit most times my job wasn't very difficult, as I could go hours and only have to move from my chair a few times per shift, but It was just having to be there all the time. I was well paid after making all those hours, pulling in money hand over foot, but life ain't just about making money, and as I explained to people "I don't live to work, I work to live"... well I was earning such large checks that I started laying out of work, and ended up losing that job on points, and I didn't even gaf, cause I didn't have much of a life working like that!!!

Simple meals are sometimes the best. Being low income we didn't have a lot of fancy foods. We learned to make delicious meals with what we had. I sometimes think my simple meals are better and tastier than most I've eaten going out. I just made a stir fry from leftovers. I heated up left over bite size chicken pieces i had fried the night before with salt and garlic powder. I used butter and added the couscous and leftover snap pea and veggies stirfry mix. Added a little salt. I didn't use soy sauce because I was worried couscous would soak up flavor and would ruin the taste. As I thought. Simple was better. I could taste the butter and the garlic powder on the chicken and it blended well into the couscous. The meal tasted amazing.
