The kittens gave winny something to focus her attention on and kept her busy, giving her less time to focus on things that scared or frustrated her before. Sometimes that can be what works for someone dealing with psychological issues. Glad they found a healthy outlet for her, especially one that helps babies in need.

Exactly!! I have extreme anxiety and a panic disorder. One of the things that I learned through therapy (CBT) was focusing on something else whenever I feel my anxiety get very high or I'm having a panic attack. I read a lot, and when I feel my anxiety start to rise, many times I'll go in my room and read. Focusing all my attention on the book brings my anxiety down. That's exactly what was happening with Winnie and the kittens. I love that Winnie's Mum has found a way, not only to help Winnie manage her anxiety, but to help kittens thrive and find their forever homes.❤

@@NMN_CP That's irrelevant, because she's absolutely right. We call know things that we didn't necessarily go to school for, but which we've learned through experience. And experience can make us as qualified an expert in something as schooling can.

@@NMN_CP its actually a trick I've found that helps me when I'm anxious, stressed, or just feeling overwhelmed by my own emotions (and considering another reply to the original comment, I'm not the only one that it works for.) It's not a method that will work for everyone, but it does wonders for some. Just thinking about the most simple form of the logic and psychology behind what is happening for this sweet doggy. I just think in those terms because I have a interest in psychology, if I was an expert, I would be able to give a far more detailed explanation. I do recognize a familar coping mechanism that is thankfully working for this fuzzy individual. In the end, that is what I celebrate along with the many lives it enriches.

When we rescued a 4-5 wk. old kitten from work, we were unsure if my 2 big dogs would be OK! Well, my oldest dog, 1/2 Aussie, 1/2 Choc Lab took an IMMED shine to Smōk and let Smōk suckle on her, as well! ♥️Mali had never had any puppies and was spayed. But her “Mom” instincts kicked in and she and Smōk were inseparable! It was quite beautiful! 🥰 Cherish those moments w/Winnie! They are a gift from God!♥️

Great job. Want to pass this on to others. Dogs & Cats with anxiety now can have CBD. My friend tried it on his dog, they do make it for animals, and after 2 weeks the anxiety was gone.

I have a Dane mix. Since we got him from the shelter as a 10 week puppy he was a bundle of anxiety about some things. Yet he seems to be happy as the low dog in our 4 dog pack. He is the biggest dog, even submitting to my wimpy old corgi/basset hound mix. He is scared of the car, but LOVES the hikes we go on. He is submissive to everyone but will get stubborn and insists that he his sleeping spot is on the bed is next to me. Oh and he will get in my face with his “talking” when evening “treat” (wet food) is later than usual. But doesn’t care if he is the last to get his serving. Great Danes are an interesting breed.
