I’m on the second book now. My eyes have become a deep oceanic blue. I see visions of a jihad being fought in my name. At times these mental machinations of mine stir feelings of immense anxiety, but I remind myself there is no value in fear, as it is the mind killer.

Dune isn’t a book I’d recommend to any 12 year old simply because of its reading level being I’d guess late high school not middleschool. Funny though.

how can it not be "ideal brain food"?

Honestly Dune the book is so much better then even the new movie because for all that it gets right, there still some things missed. And dune once you read it enough, can't be put down. I would HIGHLY recommend reading the book.
@thomaswallace874327 күн бұрын
The amount of detail and lore packed into book 1 makes it impossible to adapt 100% accurately tbh I think there’s one or two things Dennis could’ve done better (namely Chani’s story leading into messiah) but for the most part he smashed it tbh

@JunguianPhantom20 күн бұрын
It can be a little bit jarring, it happened to me also. But it's not the time skip, but the way that the characters have changed (very darkly, like Paul and the fremen). After that initial shock, it's quite an excellent book (and trust me, Children of Dune and God emperor of Dune are the shit)
