There are billions of people who have gotten away with killing countless women and children while billions others are serving life sentences for murders they did not commit. The world is a clown show where people die and serve no purpose in this universe. We have one life, and then we die. Countless others are born while we never exist ever again. ...Or is consciousness shared between different bodies in an infinite multiverse? We just do not remember our previous life in universe 9999. Instead, we are born again in universe 10,000. How many times have we lived before we were born? And how many more lives will we have zillions of years from today in a multiverse with infinite time and possibilities? Is God the multiverse itself, and are we just as immortal as Him? Are we destined to live forever in a never ending cycle of life and death?

@@semiadelaroe651 Forgiving him isn’t for him…it’s not about him… other than being free from him. Until you forgive a person who you hold great anger and animosity for, you can’t truly let it go. Telling yourself you’ve found closure with the situation where that person did whatever they did to you is really not meaningful because you can’t truly have closure when you have deep, unresolved feelings about a person. It’s like closing the door on a room you don’t want to have anything to do with anymore, but you didn’t turn the light off inside. You can tell yourself that you’re done with that room, but you know that lights still on…you’re paying for the energy that keeps it lit, month after month. Eventually, you realize that you’ve been trying to convince yourself you have closure, but you know you think about that damn light being on all the time…and it costs you every month. It’ll stay that way and continue to eat at you until you go in and turn off that light…to free yourself of that burden. Until then, it occupies your mind all the time. And anything that occupies your mind without any effort and keeps you angry or upset has power over you. It rules you. Gotta forgive or you let them win.

I came across people like this. Interestingly, they were real estate agents. I tried to explain the concept of aikido to them in terms of making a good deal, explaining that a good deal is one where all parties come out as winners. They just couldn't understand it. "More than one people can't win. For someone to win, everyone else HAS to lose." They just couldn't understand the idea of gaining what you want without taking away from others. I keep wondering if you get that way from working in finance, or if you are born that way and end up working in finance because of it, but either way I'm sure we're not going to get anywhere as a society as long as that is the prevalent view.

They think winning is a zero sum game. Only one person can win, because there’s only one “prize” in their minds. And if everyone walks away happy, that means they got short-changed, again in their minds. The only victory is one in which everyone else loses, and that’s how they like it.
