Thank you Imani!! I really feel passionate about showing people how to budget… I know there are more than one way to do it, but I want people to figure out what that way is for them!! I think it is assume that all people know how to budget but when I think of my journey and I heard Dave Ramsey say set your budget I had to go and seek out what a budget looks like… and then there were some that made me feel bad because I didn’t have investment I was on the debt side… but ultimately, I found a start where you are approach… This approach helps me to keep the blinders on and not compare myself to anyone… I’m dealing with what is in front of us!! These videos produce lower views, but I am so excited for the handful of people that needed this video and has embraced it!! I am so grateful for you and your support🥰💕💕💕

I’ve gotten some really good questions that I know some would think are simple but I’m glad those people felt comfortable enough to ask!! I greatly appreciate your support always!!

Another great video. I love that you clearly shared your process for planning out the year. Easy to follow. I read through all your comments so far and it was mentioned several times that younger people should know this, but you often see/hear they don't. I think that's a huge point! I have new teenager and I think I'll start bringing her along as I work on our annual, monthly and paycheck budgets. With everything so digital these days, we don't really deal with a lot of physical cash in our house and this could be a huge life lesson for the kids. Thank you!

Absolutely!! I talk about money openly and freely with my children!! They both receive an allowance and have savings challenges, binders… I’m trying to teach them to save a little before they spend it all!! The more you share your money process with your kids the better you’re preparing them when they have to do it on their own!!! Being a parent is a lot of work and takes a lot of intentionality… sounds like you’re doing a great job!!! I greatly appreciate you being here!!!

I like how you budget for next year. Even if I don't make that much or have the amount of wiggle room, my forst step was to write down my known expenses for the year, by month. I have annual subscriptions that are spread out through the year, but saving for them now eliminates any scramble for the money. I know when the birthdays are and the holidays. Car registration. Having that money already set aside for next year is really helpful. Having the plan means I am not constantly making decisions. I already made the decision, and I trust my judgement.

Thank you Dee…I really wanted to help somebody… share my budgeting sheet before…. I think we assume everyone knows how to budget… but I am realizing that more than not people need to be shown. I think about my own experience with finances…. It took Dave Ramsey saying the word budget before I went to look up what a budget should look like.!! People know what the words mean, but I don’t think they have a visual in their head that moves them towards action!! It’s funny too, that people think it’s math and that scares them… I wanted to show them that it is first grade level math…. Not even new math.🤣🤣🤣 I feel blessed that someone will try it and I’m hoping even if they don’t like my method, they will finagle it enough that it fits them perfectly!! Definite, I’m definitely in the season of working smarter not harder so simple is exactly where I want to be!!

It’s my pleasure!! you’re right personal finance should be a class that we have to take in high school… that is why I’m trying to give my children a hands-on experience!! Honestly, I don’t have plans for after retirement … kiddos will be 10 and 14 so I just wanna do the whole stay at home mom thing!! I might even put a little bit more attention into this KZbin channel. So our allowance is the amount of money that we can just blow every two weeks … right now we get $600 each and we’re supposed to cover our own gas for our vehicle!! And this way, he doesn’t have to ask me for certain things and I don’t have to ask him for certain things we both work but we’ve agreed to limit how much we’re going to spend or can spend every two weeks.. . As you can see on my channel I’m more of a saver so I save my money a lot of of it anyway for most of the year and then I have a lump sum at the end of the year… my husband is not like that at all, but he has what he wants!! Great video 😊 I'm looking to step my salary down for the same reason. From January I will be cash stuffing a lower amount & saving the difference into an annual bills account (so that I have to find less money in the early stages of retirement & it can earn me some interest in the process) xx
@BudgetStuffSaveRepeat2 ай бұрын
I actually think this is a great plan… and I don’t hear people talking talking about it too much!! The same thing when I start getting my pension check once a month… I think I’m going to only move half of it and then “pay myself” the second half of it in the middle of the month!! I’m not used to getting paid once a month so I want to create systems that will allow the transition to feel easier!! Next year, I’m going to have that include what I’m doing with the money that is being set aside!! Thank you Caro!! I love having someone to talk to about this!! Have a wonderful day🥰🥰🥰
@shecanbudget11702 ай бұрын
@@BudgetStuffSaveRepeat it's a good idea to pay yourself in retirement the way you're used to getting paid during employment. There will be numerous transitions that you will have to make & you won't be aware of all of them until you get there! As you know, I'm looking to retire early & I know that my pension won't become due for a while after I retire...so I'm building the buffer I need for that. So far I've got 2yr of annual bills, 1 Christmas & a couple of 1-off expenses (such as glasses & driving licence renewal) already funded...so I have less to worry about in that transition / limbo period 😎 The more I fund now, the sooner I can retire! xx

I love this!!!!! I’m gonna give it a try. Question do you update monthly budget sheets with the exact amount of pay as the paycheck roll in?
@BudgetStuffSaveRepeat2 ай бұрын
Yes, I do update my spreadsheets with the actual numbers… and I re-allocate any Surplus!! I try very hard to balance out the budget before the year so I know automatically I’m gonna have a surplus because my income is understated… this gives us an opportunity to pay off debt or to save!! I got my electric bill for October and it is $115 less than what’s on our 2024 budget so I’m going to move Surplus to an extra mortgage principal payment!! Thank you so much for being here and asking the question!!
@ElleBPlans2 ай бұрын
I was just explaining that it is time to start the annual budget for 2025. Thanks for sharing your process. I do have a question, where wouldd you account for extra money like bonuses or refunds?
@BudgetStuffSaveRepeat2 ай бұрын
So I wait until I receive notice of the bonus or refund in writing before I start planning! I usually spend it on paper (or excel) before I receive it and/or start physical spending it! For example, we received a $2000 state tax refund this year-we decided to just split it so that we could each go on a solo trip with our friends. However, my husband‘s bonus was about $12,000…. We listed projects we wanted to complete and that we wanted to pay…. We also decided how much we wanted to save… once the money arrived. I simply went to that paper and followed the plan we set out. I think the important thing here is just to make sure you have a game plan before you start spending… and part of the game plan could be just to blow some of the money!! I greatly appreciate you being here and thank you for asking the question!!!

A 401(k) is a workplace retirement plan that allows you to make annual contributions up to a specific amount… usually you wouldn’t be able to withdraw from these accounts until you are 59 1/2. The key point here is your employer has to offer you a 401(k). A Roth IRA (individual retirement account), is a retirement plan that you can set up without having an employer!! The 529 is simply a savings account for your children’s college… you can call your local bank to set up the Roth IRA or the 529. However, the company that I use for my 529 ask me if I had a retirement fund before they would be willing to set up my 529.!! Asking the question! You can start your Roth or the 529 with as little as $25!! I greatly appreciate you being here!!!
