Just follow the money - so they say - and Libya is yet another dire example of the consequences of Western interventions to turn over a political rule that doesn't fit the bill, so to speak. This time the US was indeed strongly supported by several fellow allied in oil and NATO, with France and Sarkozy very much upfront, this due to the fear of Gaddafi's plans to create a pan-African currency that could supplant the monetary system (CFA fran) tied to Paris. The basic was to prevent the creation of an independent hard currency in Africa that would free the continent from economic bondage under the dollar, the International Monetary Fund and the CFA, that possibly could shake off the last heavy chains of colonial exploitation. The so called Arab Spring and the uprising against Gaddafi was merely an opportunity, and even Norwegian fighter jets contributed to the bombing of Libyan military forces and infrastructure. Just like in this video, there's basically nothing about this aftermath in Western mainstream media, but since 2011 Libya has been marked by chaos and civil wars, with political, security, and economic volatility. This has produced a governance vacuum which has led to significant security, rule of law, and severe social and economic challenges. Moreoever, Libya briskly became a hotbed for modern slavetrade and human trafficking to Europe, including enforced disappearances and torture of migrants and refugees. Also, the output of the crucial oil industry has collapsed to a small fraction of its usual level, despite having the largest oil reserves of any African country, with most facilities blockaded or damaged by rival groups. Western leaders, continuously charged with economical and military ideology from the legacy of Emperialism never seem to learn from any old failures, and those politically responsible are not held accountable. Congratulations - well done, again.

Most people in Iraq and Libya grew up under dictators and would aspire to be like one. Once these dictators were removed, democracy didn't set in coz it's not something the people aspire to live in, instead it became an open season for war lords to mobilize their troops to increase their operations. Which led to the most destructive and evil terrorist organisation ISIS to control these countries bringing in untold suffering and death to the people. A known evil is better than an unknown evil. Using your influence to bring down a democratic leader with your democratic leader closer to your choice wouldn't bring much effect on the people but in case of dictatorships experience has shown it's like opening a Pandora's box on that land

I would argue that it is Russians who are being lied to, used for Putin's egotism, and being sent to the slaughter without a second thought by their own commanders. Ukrainians fight for their own sovereignty and freedom to exist as a separate people. As an American, I feel a sense of pride knowing that our weapons are going to (really) uphold a democracy for once. I also like that Putin is getting some payback for his helping elect the TRAITOR Trump.

There’s nothing wrong with Ukrainian army. Ukrainian army have right to defend their country from aggression. Russia is main aggressor in Ukrainian conflict. Che was a very minor player in South America, certainly not anything of the scale of America’s involvement in the area. Not sure if the people of Libya are better off without Gaddafi, and operation PB Success is the C.I.A’s overthrowing of a democratically elected government, which seems to tarnish their image and further destabilize the region. Hindsight being 20/20 I think it’s a mixed bag as it is today if these examples are a success for the C.I.A. and for America or if they are a blackeye on democracy.
