The winker in teal is Chris Lynn playing for Brisbane Heat. I was in the stadium under the flight of that ball as it went over the roof and out of the grounds. Purple dude was Dan Christian playing for Hobart Hurricanes

One of my most enjoyable moments playing grade cricket in Sydney was when a fast bowler bowled a Beamer at my throat. I swung across it and luckily middled it. It went over the fence over the stand, over a big tree and into a lake. I stood still and just watched it soar. Then I looked back at the bowler and he was half way down the pitch glaring at me. I just stared back and said don’t look at me, you bowled the shit. He eventually got me out for a very quick 80 and then pointed me towards the change rooms. The non striking batsman then said to him…what are you going on about, he just hit you all over the park.

FYI Johannesburg in South Africa being the venue for multiple shots here is unsurprising. It's high altitude, like a Colorado Rockies home game , the balls travels further in the thin air

Okay well that makes plenty of sense with the thin air like Colorado. Cause the ball definitely flies high there too.

@@kwig3520 I wonder if it has something to do with how quickly the ball comes onto the bat. It is a fact that the GABBA has the fastest and bounciest pitch in the world. I think the faster it goes onto the bat the faster it goes off the bat.

It has been outlawed now, but being “sent back to the pavilion” was always seen as one of the most disrespectful things you could do in cricket. It would be done by the bowler when they got a batsman out, they would stare the batsman down and point back to the pavilion, which is where the dressing rooms are located. Basically, after the bowler got them out they would “remind” the batsman of where they were supposed to be. Also, you can’t really tell in this video because of the music, but in number 7 the ball hits the car of the guy who is commentating. In the original audio he goes from “wow, look at that,” to “hang on, that’s MY car!”

The ball that landed on the car roof, was a rental car that the commentator had rented and he was giving live commentary when it happened. Once a batsmen hit his own car that was in the parking lot and once in ladies cricket the batsmen hit and broke the glass of the car that was to be given to the player of the tournament 😅😅😅

1:02 I wouldn't call that hit a slog... Good form + good timing, made it look almost effortless. A slog is where you try to simply muscle the ball - the extra effort being required when the timing/technique is not quite right.

That six by Boom Boom afridi at no 14 was the longest six ever recorded in cricket history. it's 158m long. Some people might argue that it is not the longest six as there are several other sixes that are not recorded due to lack of technology, and also this argument mostly come from Indian players, who are actually feeling, jealous, xd.

It's not though.. ICC recorded Afridi's that six as 120m long officially.. They said 158m was an error.. And it is not even humanly possible to hit 140m+ six.. Let alone 158..

Yes he was Chris Gayle. Both the times you wondered and talked about The Universe Boss, it actually was The Universe Boss, Chris Gayle. However, if you really want to check out the most powerful shots in cricket ever, check an MS Dhoni compilation. No one ever hit it harder and longer than him as consistently. He was always known for it. Some times it took milliseconds for the ball to reach the boundary when MSD hit it in his style.

As a former bowler, nothing more disrespectful as a batter sledging you while the ball is in the air going for six. It makes your blood boil. Then need to change the next delivery up, but the batsman is probably fully aware of this. I would tend to through a slow ball out the back of the hand and big yell of Ahhhhhhhh as I delivered it, out smarting the batsman to think it was a fast delivery.

1:37 looking at it isnt very disrespectful cause one of the first things they teach you in cricket, is always keep your eyes on the ball, whats more disrespectful is holding the pose after knowing you hit the ball well and not even looking at it, also if they do what is known as "sledging" which is essentially trash talk and gestures, stuff like that

The winker was Chris Lynn, when he opened the batting for Brisbane Heat with New Zealander, Brendon McCullum, they were known as the 'bash brothers'. McCullum now coaches England and has taken his aggressive play style into the test arena. In the modern era more test matches are finishing with a result in shorter time rather than going five days and finishing in a draw. A draw is different to a tie in a test match, something you guys can look at and learn if you don't know it already. I love the knowledgeable comment you guys make, Thanks.

This is not the accurate list. Most of the sixes in this list were not even more than 100m long because they were hit in smaller stadiums. Like the stadium in Sharjah with freeway next to it is a tiny stadium and every stadium in New Zealand is way smaller than others. Their boundaries are around 60 to 65 meters. You just have to hit 95+ and it's out of the park.

As far as I'm aware it's not rude to stare down the shot, because compared to baseball, the aim isn't to knock it out of the park every shot. They do "sledging" though, which is just them insulting each other and it gets picked up on the stump mics. There's some good videos of that on KZbin too

Well technically in baseball its not always to hit the ball out the field of play, some players just are not that good to do it all time. But it's definitely considered disrespectful to stare down the ball after a home-run or flip the bat high in the air too. lol

While this may sound direct, I've noticed that viewers tend to prefer reactors who are new to cricket. The charm lies in their fresh perspective and genuine reactions. However, once a reactor becomes too familiar with the rules, players, and nuances of the game, they may start to sound like a dedicated fan, and the content can lose its appeal. The key is maintaining that sense of discovery and novelty that initially drew viewers in.
