സാമ്പത്തികമായി നല്ല കെൽപ്പുള്ള കുടുംബത്തിലാണ് ജനിക്കുന്നതെങ്കിൽ നമ്മുടെ നാട് തന്നെയാണ് നല്ലതു .. പക്ഷെ അതുമാത്രം പോരല്ലോ .. എന്തൊക്കെ പറഞ്ഞാലും അമേരിക്കയിൽ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ സോഷ്യലിസം കൂടുതൽ ഉള്ള രാജ്യത്തു ജനങളുടെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ പരിഹരിക്കാൻ അവരുടെ ഗവൺമെന്റ് അവരോടൊപ്പം കാണും , നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിൽ എന്തെങ്കിലും ബിസിനസ് തുടങ്ങണം എന്ന് ആലോചിച്ചാൽ ലോണിന്റെയും ബാധ്യതയുടെയും രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരുടെയും ബക്കറ്റുപിരിവുകാരുടെയും അഭിപ്രായം നോക്കി ജീവിക്കേണ്ടി വരും . എന്തായാലും വികസിത രാജ്യത്തു താമസിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിടത്തെ പൗരൻമ്മാർക്ക് അവരുടെ ഗവെർന്മെന്റ് കൊടുക്കുന്ന ആനുകൂല്യങ്ങൾ ഇവിടത്തെ സമ്പന്നർക്കുകൊടുക്കുന്നതിലും കൂടുതലാണ് .നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിൽ എന്തെങ്കിലും തുടക്കം കുരിക്കണമെങ്കിൽ ആയിരം ആളുകളുടെ ചോദ്യത്തിന് മറുപടികൊടുക്കണം ,ഒരു ശരാശരി മലയാളി ഡിഗ്രി പൂർത്തിയാക്കുന്നതുവരെ 17 വർഷം പഠിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. രണ്ടുവർഷം കിന്റർഗാർട്ടൻ, പത്താം ക്ലാസുവരെ പത്തുവർഷം, പ്ലസ് ടു രണ്ടുവർഷം, ഡിഗ്രി മൂന്ന് വർഷം. ഇത്രയും വർഷം പഠിച്ച് പുറത്തിറങ്ങുന്ന ഒരു യുവാവിനോടോ യുവതിയോടോ നീ 17 വർഷം വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു, നിന്റെ ജീവിതം ഇനി വിജയകരമായിരിക്കും എന്ന് ഉറപ്പുനൽകാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ഒരു വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സമ്പ്രദായം നമുക്കുണ്ടോ? നിന്റെ വഴി ഇതാണ്, ഇതുവഴി പോയാൽ നിന്റെ ജീവിതം വിജയമായിരിക്കും എന്നുപറഞ്ഞുകൊടുക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ഒരു വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ പദ്ധതി നമുക്കുണ്ടോ? നമ്മുടെ കുട്ടികളെ ജീവിക്കാൻ പ്രാപ്തരാക്കുന്ന, ജീവിതത്തിൽ വിജയിക്കാൻ പ്രാപ്തരാക്കുന്ന, ഒരു വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നൽകാൻ കഴിയുന്നുണ്ടോ? ഇല്ല. ഇതല്ലേ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിൽ നാം നേരിടുന്ന ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പ്രശ്നം? നമ്മൾ മലയാളിയുടെ പല പ്രശ്നങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും പറയാറുണ്ട്. അതിലേറ്റവും പ്രധാന പ്രശ്നം അവൻ പഠിച്ചതൊന്നും അവനു പലപ്പോഴും ജീവിതത്തിൽ പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുന്നില്ല എന്നതാണ്. 17 വർഷം പഠിച്ചതിൽ ബഹുഭൂരിപക്ഷവും ശിഷ്ടകാലത്ത് ഒരുപയോഗവുമില്ലാത്ത കാര്യങ്ങളായി മാറുന്നു. ഞാനും നിങ്ങളും കഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് പഠിച്ച മാത്തമാറ്റിക്സിന്റെ പല തത്വങ്ങളും ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഇന്നേവരെ നമ്മൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാവില്ല. നിങ്ങളും ഞാനും വിഷമിച്ചു പഠിച്ച ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഗ്രാമർ ഒരു കത്തെഴുതാൻപോലും ഉപയോഗമില്ലാത്ത ഗ്രാമർ ആയിരുന്നുവെന്ന് കോളജിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്തിറങ്ങുമ്പോഴാണ് നമ്മൾ അറിയുന്നത്. വൃത്തിയുള്ള ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഭാഷയിൽ സോഷ്യൽ മീഡിയ കമന്റുകൾപോലും എഴുതാൻ കഴിവുള്ള ഒരാളേയും കേരളം സംഭാവന ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല എന്നതാണ് സത്യം. ഇംഗ്ലീഷോ മലയാളമോ തെറ്റുകൂടാതെ ഭംഗിയായ ഭാഷയിൽ എഴുതാൻ കഴിയുന്ന യുവാക്കളെയും യുവതികളെയും നമ്മൾ കാണുന്നില്ല. അപൂർവമായി, മിടുക്കരായ ചില അധ്യാപകരുടെ ശിക്ഷണം കിട്ടി പുറത്തുവരുന്നവരിൽ മാത്രമേ ആ ഗുണങ്ങൾ കാണാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നുള്ളൂ. നമ്മുടെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസഗുണനിലവാരം വളരെയധികം കുറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

Verum 900 dirhams തുടങ്ങിയത് ആണ് ഞാൻ. നന്നായിട്ട് kashttapettu, കൂടെ പിറപ്പുകളെയും ഒരു വിധത്തിൽ ഇവിടെ കൊണ്ട് വന്നു. മിച്ചം പിടിച്ചു, പിശുക്കിയു, ഭാര്യ ചിട്ടി പിടിച്ചും എല്ലാം കണക്ക് കൂട്ടി മുൻപോട്ടു പോയത് കൊണ്ട് . ... കടങ്ങൾ വീട്ടി, സ്ഥലം വാങ്ങി, വീട് വെച്ചു, മക്കളെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചു .... വീടിന്റെ loan ഉണ്ട്, വീട്ടുകാര് എല്ലാം കൂടെ നിന്നു എന്നുള്ളത് കൊണ്ട് 2 മുറി കട കൂടി പണിയാൻ പറ്റി. അത്യാവശ്യം നല്ല വാടകക്ക് പോകുന്നുണ്ട്. കൊറോണ മാന്ദ്യം ഒഴിച്ചാൽ. ഭാര്യ ഇപ്പോഴും തുണി കടയിൽ പണിക്ക് പോകുന്നു.... ഇനി ഇങ്ങനെയും പിടിച്ചു നിൽക്കാം എന്ന് തോന്നിയപ്പോൾ പ്രവാസ ജീവിതം നിർത്തി ഞാൻ പോന്നു. ഇപ്പോഴും നാട്ടിൽ ഉള്ള ഇത്തിരി നല്ല വർക്ക്ഷോപ്പിൽ പണിക്ക് പോകുന്നു. മകൻ യൂറോപ്യൻ country ആണ് പോയത്....രേക്ഷപെടും എന്ന് വിചാരിക്കുന്നു. വീട്ടുകാർക്ക് പട്ടുമെത്ത വിരിച്ചു കൊടുക്കാൻ പറ്റിയില്ലെങ്കിലും... ജീവിക്കാൻ ഉള്ള വഴി ഉണ്ടാകി കൊടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട് . ദുബായ് പോയി ലക്ഷപ്രഭു ആകാം എന്ന് ഞാൻ വിച്ചറിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. കടം വീട്ടണം, ഒരു വീട് പണിയണം... അത്രേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ ആഗ്രഹം. വീടിന്റ അവസ്ഥയും, എന്റെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ യോഗിതയും വെച്ചു western country ഒന്നും ചിന്തിക്കാൻ പോലും പറ്റുന്ന ഒന്ന് ആയിരുന്നില്ല. എനിക്ക് ഒരു വെളിച്ചം തന്നത് ദുബായ് ആണ്... അത് ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു എന്നെ ഉള്ളു.

Hi Bro - that was a great perspective on how an “American dream” isn’t just as a easy as shown in movies .I am aware that time is considered a valuable commodity in the United States, and it is important to be punctual or a few minutes early to appointments and meetings- This is same in every prosperous country and everything starts with punctuality and maintaining deadlines - in every walks of life . Well said and thank you for presenting the reality. I am in US for more than 10 years and generally living a comfortable life too, but as you said it is not easy nor just happened magically that way. It is the result of hard work and adjusting to your situations. There are so many poor and homeless people here and most of them are natives while immigrants are actually better off (I sometimes buy food or donate clothes to them). But the good part is, you have the individual freedom, absence of red-tapes, very less corruption in the general and basic system and a basic infrastructure that works fine. In that aspect, if you work hard, obey the laws, comply with the regulations, welcome and accept the culture, sure this is a great place to live more peacefully and freely. I really like that way.

I came here 40 years ago with 3 dollars expecting my elder brother who was already here to take care of everything for me. WRONG. Two weeks later my vacation was over , start working like I have never done. If you want to be successful ( doesn't mean to make lot of money) have a nice family steady job, I mean a balanced life then I thought I came to the right place.Ofcourse I struggled, but if you are willing to go the extra mile then this is the perfect place to raise your children. I believe Kerala is much much better now than 40 years ago. You cannot find a perfect country any where in the world but compare to lot of other countries I believe from my experience USA is number 1 in my book. God bless the United states of America.

I got to watch one of your episode by chance, but really loved the information being shared. After Seeing this episode, I've started respecting your effort in presenting in a very polite, genuine and unbiased manner. Moreover, I too understand the plight of an immigrant in a foreign land. I have served around 6 years in UAE and had missed kerala several times. Though I'm from a well-off family, the comfort and peace of mind that I have today is from the efforts and struggles that I took for the last 15 yrs. Meanwhile, people here feels that life of an NRI is very cool out there. It's all about beaches, malls, party, booze and trips.

Very good report, excellent observation very much close to the realities. I am a failed prey to my own American dream. Managed to reach CA in the early years of new millennium, spend one year struggling unbelievably horrible..working very hard to survive ( with no social security number 😆) . OMG.. those days ! those days !! There are so many good people all around, lucky if you could find one. Happened in my case.. i was lucky. I must write a book that to be a best seller.

The benefits of living abroad are basically these: Good weather (means less heat, also depending on where you are based!), good food (that you can decide on the quality of food you purchase), good professional standards (that your colleagues will treat you with respect), less interference of society in your life. As you rightly said, reaching a place outside of India is a start. And after a few years you can be proud of your hardwork and see the outcome of your life you built with your hardwork (here you refers to you and your partner). Very well presented and hope many see your video before leaving India so they know it's not the Bollywood images that's awaiting them abroad.
