People need to realize that Russia is not Cuba, North Korea, or Iran. While those heavily sanctioned countries are small and weak, Russia is HUGE with a ton of resources and a well established industrial base. But more importantly the majority of Russians believe that the West poses a threat to them and are willing to make the sacrifices to make Russia strong and this to me is an important political victory for Putin that many Western politicians don't want to publicly acknowledge.

@@iliyasiliev9103 I always advice looking up information from multiple sources with different opinions on the matter and draw your own conclusions. That said, I found this video on my feed, where YT actually showed me at least 2 other videos (I think i saw 3, but might misremember) with titles suggesting that "Russia is collapsing" (one week long, 2nd not sure) - so it looks like some other creators think that people want to see bad news about Russia - which, similar to creators of articles cited in this video here, seems to be logical assumption. You are also not considering the fact that someone might change his opinion, with time more facts might become apparent, or there are generally things that are hard or even impossible to predict (like how fast Russia recovered their supply chain, how hard really Putin keeps his wealthy "friends" under his boots how China will act towards Russian Federation etc). Either case - multiple sources is always the best option.

Prigozhin was loose cannon and I'm surprised it took that long to get rid of him. As for Russian economy, they inherited a Soviet era industry, which is primarily a heavy industry. Because it generates good revenue stream they continued in that direction. With sanctions now they have focus on import substitution. Therefore, just like in Soviet era, now again they have to rely on their own efforts and just like in Soviet era they will do just fine. With sanctions, the west is creating the new Russia and the result will not be what they wanted. Will they ever learn? It is clear as to what the Americans wanted with the sanctions: breaking the economic relations of the EU and Russia and they succeeded. But what did the Europeans get out of this ? From now and next 5 years the EU public will demand accounting. Watch the governments fall like dominoes.

No, Wagner did NOT "launch a full-scale rebellion against the Russian government." They launched a MUTINY against the Russian military and the Ministry of Defense, specifically. They've been at odds from the very beginning, and after lack of supplies led to high Wagner PMC deaths during the battle over Bakhmut, that's when Prigozhin launched a tirade against them. There was quite obviously a power struggle between them. Furthermore, the Ministry of Defense is close to Patriot PMC and Redut PMC, with Shoigu personally having links to the former.

Hello I am from Russia. I have known this channel for several years, I liked learning interesting facts about geography and history before. After some time, the author began to focus on politics, in particular the anti-Russian point of view. This really confused and upset me, not because I am a fan of Putin or the war - but because this point of view simply did not reflect the reality that I saw outside my window every day. Today I decided to watch it again, and I am pleased that the video at least contains more facts, although it is also imbued with a very one-sided view. But most of all I liked the comments - people at the same time believe that this video is sponsored by the Kremlin/West That's definitely a good sign😂

In the end, politics can also be talked about in different ways. A dry summary of facts is one thing, and it’s quite another thing when the author or editor takes one of the sides. It was all a Tactic by Putin. Putin never wanted the attacks to be on Bakhmut. He wanted to move from the East, focusin on the Kharkiv and Sumy Oblasts, while the main Trench Warfare would remain in Zapharozie. Bakhmut was an unnecesary front. Taking Kharkiv and Sumy Oblasts basically would give all the Eastern Most regions of Ukraine under Russian control, making mobilization and re-supply far simpler, meaning their offensive would've most likely targeted on dividing Ukraine by the Dnieper River. But Prighozin got delusions of grandeur and wanted to attack from Bakhmut, this cut supplies to Zapharozie and Kherson Oblasts where were where the main of offensives of Ukraine were coming. Now Putin has decided to use the Wagner Group to create a Paramilitary in Belarus (specially since Poland is the only EU country that is open to actually send troops) so having them there is both a fear tactic as well as setting up a potentially worst case scenario. Lukashenko agreed to have the Wagner Group in Belarus, because i am sure Putin will try to have him to take a leadership role in the Wagner Group. A loyalist like Lukashenko would ensure Wagner Group would attack the targets that Putin believes are the ones that are necessary. Also Putin knows that this conflict is starting to become a 2nd Cold War, and China is still unwilling to join. So the Wagner Group is going to be used to spark conflicts in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Putin knows that the USA is still the most powerful nation in the world. The only way he can beat them is the same way the USA beat the USSR. Not by direct conflict, but by forcing them into conflicts that will gain them the hatred of the local population, and conflicts that devolve into Insurgency type of Wars. The USA has proven for the past 20 years, that they are not good at Insurgency Type of Wars. It only causes the people in those regions to resent them and hate them. Putin wants that hate to reach the point where they ditch the USA and EU entirely. This is why what the Republicans are planning with Mexico is incredibly concerning. Attacking the Cartels on Mexico is going to be a dumb move, just like how the USSR invaded Afghanistan. Putin knows this, he may be the President, but at his core he's still a KGB Agent. He knows how the USSR fell, and he knows those same tactics can be used by them as well. The conflict in the Sahel Region will destroy France both Economically and Energetically. Add the fact that France has allowed a huge influx of migrants from those same regions, and they will even spark resentment within France itself. Putin knows that a weak EU will force the USA to return to their role as the World's Police, but they no longer have the manpower to fulfill that role.

Food yes, but not clothing or equipment of which perhaps 90% are imported. Russia failed and continues to fail to manage domestic production of anything except home-grown food (so-called "импортозамещение", import replacement, has been a total failure). They have to import electronics, clothes, high-tech components and so on from abroad - and they buy them in dollars, which weakens the ruble and makes prices higher. Before the war, I once compared the prices in US and Russia for common goods out of interest, and while salaries/rent/food prices were at least 2 times higher in US, the price for iPhone or Playstation or any other consumer electronic in both countries were about the same, which means for Americans these things are vastly cheaper (since higher salaries) than for Russians. Most of Russians now exist below the poverty line (Russian economic authorities even had to change the definition of povery in order to change that and make it seem like things are OK) and are very vulnerable to any economic changes. This makes them susceptible to enlisting in Ukraine war as a cannon fodder from a purely practical standpoint ("if I die, at least my family will have the money to go on"), but it also makes them desperate since they have nothing to lose (more fuel for possible revolution) and it further strains the economy, since poor people are increasingly dependent on government handouts, do not contribute as much in taxes and are taking more and more credits from Russian banks which they have no hope of returning. This credit bubble is getting so bad some economists are already warning that it can collapse just like it did in the West in 2008. Bottom line: nothing is ever simple, but I would avoid the conclusions along the line of "Russian economy is doing fine because it didn't collapse yet" or "Russians love Putin just because they are", which some may draw from this video. There could happen some very drastic and sudden changes in the coming year.

@selfcapybara 8 ай бұрын
@@nikolavideomaker that's what should have been the conclusion for the video. All things considered Russia is doing quite well economically for a nation at war with cut ties to most of its major trading partners. But that "quite well" definition is relative, and in absolute values it means a severe economic crisis that undid about a decade of economic and societal development and destroyed most of the sources that allowed for reasonably high standards of living. The problem with sanctions is that a lot of them work against each other. Limits imposed on the capital movement made sure that foreign business isn't investing in Russia but it also means that Russian capital holders are investing domestically which wasn't the case traditionally. The effect of capital flight thus cancels out and I would argue that the impact of domestic capital is actually higher than foreign. Same goes for a lot of other limitations - they hurt growth but also make the country more resilient in the shorter term

Reading those comments saying the report taking or changing side is hilarious. It's just a report, base on everything that has happened. All these comments coming from those who actually taking sides, just express how unwillingly the "public opinions" are to welcome truths that they dont want to hear. Lol. Just look for the clip back in 2022 on this channel explaning how each country has their own benefits and motivs in this war, they're not deletting any of the so-called "false opinions" right?

@@visible5000 The Russian government/military never actually claimed Kiev would fall in three days, that was actually an American general. Showing a bunch of podcasters saying it will be instant means nothing. And honestly Ukraine didn't push anyone back from the city, there wasn't any significant fighting to say they won anything. That giant Civ style stack of doom just sort of left. Putin, and I don't swear this is true, recently commented that the army leaving the area was part of a peace deal to end the war. Which Ukraine broke almost instantly. Also don't take what Prighozhin said too serious, he also said he was about the be completely out of ammo and abandoning the war literally the day before his troops took Bakhmut. His "20,000 KIA" numbers are also completely batshit insane, and he had nothing approaching that many men actually join his coup attempt (it was hundreds, not tens of thousands. Most of Wagner didn't participate). The only time approval ratings go up that much is during big events, like a national tragedy or a war. A great example would be approval of George bush skyrocketing after 9/11 terrorist attacks, or Zelenskyy right now because Ukraine’s in the middle of a massive war.

To be honest I recommend that people should go and visit Russia if they wanna know what the hell is going on. With the help of friends I went out and asked random people (which many refused to speak to me cause it's rude to just interrupt someone's day there) who the majority of (73 of 75 people) said they love Putin in power and would willingly vote for him and the reasons were largely due to the safety they have even with an ongoing war and providing all their needs even when sanctioned. Are you wondering if their economy is failing? well that's a horrid statement if you go there you would see that in the major cities the amount of care that is put into them is fabulous and shows that they are not lacking enough to avoid beautification. Their transportation insures that people arrive on time in unbelievable accurate timing (30 seconds to 1 minute for each metro train to arrive one after the other on the dot) and offices, parks, public buildings, museums, entertainment clubs, fine dining, fast food (yes its very popular even without American brands), factories, schools, universities and etc... I could go on and on but you get the idea, they have everything and its standing very strong. if you go to some of the smaller cities and towns you would of course notice a drop in quality but its no more than say that of France, Spain and UK's drop in quality when you head to their own respective Rural and suburban areas. Russia as a country is very secure, fun and Prosperous. The salaries could do with a bump up in some sectors but that is nothing that Russia isn't advancing to do. I hope my own little experience I had there from an unbiased point of view could help others understand to not believe ANY AND ALL Media when it comes to favored sides, go there a see for yourself. (if you think you might have trouble getting a visa there trust me It was tedious for me too as I carry a German passport but it's not impossible, only you are the only obstacle between you and the truth)

An element that you skipped over was that the Russian state seized billions of assets from foreign companies. With their ersatz replacement of large brands, using all the pre-existing infrastructure, means they have cash cow businesses with minimal capital outlay. Instead of these companies taking money out of the country, that unearned capital is now generating revenue directly for the Russian state.
@walterroux291
@walterroux291 8 ай бұрын
That's a very interesting point. Could that not come back to hurt them in the long run? As foreign companies will be less likely to run their future businesses in Russia with the threat of losing their assets. For instance I'd heard they seized a lot of foreign commercial airliners, which means insurance companies will be less likely to give out insurance, and extremely high premiums, making it harder for the companies to do business in Russia for the foreseeable future. Not an economist nor do I think I'm smart or right, just asking questions.
