You know what, I'm divorced. There isn't much reason for me to dress up or look good for anyone... But I do want to teach my two sons how to be men and how to account well of themselves. I'm glad I found this channel. I have respect for my apperenace where ever I go and I will teach my boys the same. That is my commitment!
@ecurb10

Good onya buddy! Keep it up! I've done the same with my two boys, now men. At the time it doesn't seem like they're paying much attention, but as they've grown older I can see how they've taken on board my values, and the importance of self-improvement. (In fact, I'm proud to say they've both turned out better than me - I now learn much from them).

If you live anywhere but the upper middle class suburbs, it's critical you real up on red pill for them. (Helpful regardless--learning things like how money matters-even to women who aren't gold diggers [they're just willing to take a chance on you _before_ you make any money-but you still need to have the potential for success at least.], and also how men and women DO NOT look for the same things in one another-it's COMPLETELY different). These are things that are so obvious to me in hindsight, but I had to be told by someone.

I would've thought the #1 rule to looking stronger and more powerful is to be stronger and more powerful. Going to the gym and getting in shape will make half of the things talked about in this video way easier
@dennischiapello3879
@dennischiapello3879 Жыл бұрын
I think it's the wrong emphasis. Going to the gym doesn't necessarily lead to better habits of posture, carriage, eye contact, etc. One could make the case that developing these behavioral habits is more likely to inspire you to get in better shape.

Antonio, your videos have made a huge difference in regards to my self confidence. I am 18 and recently started University (college for Americans). Your videos have helped me articulate my style tastes and have given me the kick up the arse I need to put more effort into my appearance, and the newfound confidence it gives me coupled with reading Meditations by Marcus Aurelius makes me feel, as you put it, like a million bucks. I aspire to be like you one day. Many thanks and best wishes Jamie

I work as a developer in a software company. The managers all wear suits, my coworkers are in jeans and tee shirts. When I started with the company, I would turn up in smart casual. No one paid attention to me. So, I started to dress more like my coworkers. Over time they started to engage with me socially; I was one of them. Fast forward a couple of years, and now that I’m ‘established’, I switched it up a notch: I still wore jeans but I paired it with solid colour dress shirts and a sports jacket (dark grey). Sometimes even a simple tie. The result was I still had the social connection with my coworkers (though the first couple of days they kept asking me if I had a job interview or something) … and, after a week, the managers started to notice me. They’d say “Hi,” (in the break room, the corridor, etc) and ask my opinions on things. Sadly, post-pandemic, most staff have chosen to stay working from home. There are only a few of us in the office now, and no managers. So, my wardrobe no longer has the same traction it once did.

I think the concept of "putting in the reps" is excellent. For the first time in my 62 years I've been consistent in going to the gym (aka PITR). Now I need to PINTR on the confidence and engagement and confidence side. My core values of family, hard work, life long education do not always get the chance to be seen as my shorter stature and lack of style do not lend to successful interpersonal engagements. Eye contact for me is extremely hard. But I have been PINTR so that is getting better. Ive found these videos very helpful and I look forward to exploring all of them. From a fellow veteran to another, I thank you for your service.

I always used to have sports playlist for prep before playing, I have now made a list from the songs mentioned in the video and the others that were mentioned in Comments, I also added Indestructible by Disturbed, I used to listen to that as I was finishing my game prep. In regard to appearance, especially if you truly love the organization you are in (mine being a veterans organization) learn and embrace the style of dress that most members use. Sometimes you may prefer a certain shirt or necktie style but it may not be what is best for the given occasion and remember to always conduct yourself in an appropriate manner..

I'm actually wearing something close to Drug Lords suits, i will take a goofy example but good one enough to show you that this guy has style. Tony Montana, a gangster from Cuba that had nothing unless his own ambition that led him to the criminal food-chain. His clothes were great. At the beggining he only had old dirty shirt and pants, later he equiped hawaiian shirt, then he started wearing suits from money he get. Exposed chest with the gold chain is the sign of high class and Kingpin. His black suit in my opinion is the most underrated one. Tony was a guy with balls, he know what he wants and how to get it. He's the real deal when the sh*t hits the fan. He doesn't back down for anyone and he dishes it out just as hard as he can take it. He is a great example of being strong, confident and looking powerful.

When you speak of confident body language it reminds of that scene in Superman The Movie when Clark Kent is in Lois's apartment and is about to tell her he's Superman. His body language changes from slouching to standing up tall and shoulders back and chest out even his voice changed to a more authoritative, confident tone. Then he changes his mind and resorts back to his former posture and wimpy uncertain tone.

You should always explore who you are. Not just from inside-out but also from outside-in, so as to expand the limits of your comfort zone. Then, ponder yourself from both sides of the experience, hence, you could tell yourself how far you can go with confidence. But, remember that along with every special thing or choice made; there is a philosophy that builds up on yourself the framework of your lifestyle and personality.

After searching on Google I came across a company in the UK called Otway & Orford. The website has a good short story about how the business started too.

I've always had a different set of routines for my career. Usually, I wake up early in the morning, get my exercise done, walk the dog and my stepdaughter to school, and come home and practice all of my instruments until I have work that evening. If I don't, I cook dinner for the family and then do something with the family before bed. Right now, on tour, I don't have access to my instruments until shortly before shows (and I'm away while things normalize at home with working as a musician), so I tend to get my exercise done before breakfast, eat, then just get used to putting on something that feels good and go out in public more since before the pandemic. It's been a strange two years where I just got too comfortable with a polo and jeans, and just let my shoes do the talking (if I did go out in public). Commitments and needs change due to what's going on in our lives, and don't feel bad if you need to adapt to outside influences. Just get it done!

But ultimately the most powerful look is not wearing a watch -- people show up on time to me; I don't go to them -- and no brief case -- others have to drag paperwork around with them; I don't. And so on. And, I think, even when breaking the rules the casual clothes, as you say, should be fine. A cashmere sweatshirt, maybe! But the fewer the accessories, the more powerful the appearance. That's for sure.

If I had to sum up my core values, which is something I've worked on in therapy after years of not having defined them, it would be personal responsibility, honesty & courage... Simply put, I value taking ownership of one's choices and actions, as pretty much anyone will take the credit when things are going well, but it's when things are tough that this shows you're owning the situation and you have a plan for fixing the problem, and while you are taking the lumps that you yourself have earned, it will show others that you can be depended upon when they need you. Honesty is also a key idea to me, as I've had a number of relationships over the years where people weren't honest until things went tits up, and then all of a sudden the "real" person comes out in a flurry of hard words and such. Hell, I've found that just by being honest with myself that I'm no longer driven to please people that I know aren't going to be happy, and I've been happier for it. As for courage, well, as someone that was raised in a 3rd generation household, I was taught as a child to stand up for oneself and for others who might be experiencing bullying/discrimination. I'm also the grandson of a ret. British Commando from WWII and a family that in general has a large proportion of us who served in the military, law enforcement & other civil service regimes, so this value really holds sway with me personally. I've always laughed, as I've pretty much always tested as some sort of "champion" in whatever fancy archetype test I've had put in front of me. My apologies for the essay, I can't imagine anyone reading this all the way through, but it IS truly a CORE concept that many guys today don't think about. For a lot of us, it's something that's in the back of our minds, but if asked it's not something that one can rattle off like their phone # or their street address. IF one takes the time to work on it though, it's a really useful tool as it helps you in a lot of ways, as you'll feel more confident & it WILL cause people to notice the change in one's demeanour, as you'll be confident in who you are as a person. /endrant

The red shoe effect is definitely a thing. In middle school I accidentally got all the rich kids trying to look poor, and all the guys showing up to school with bed head.

Since you asked for this at the end, here is the values I live my life by: God, family, country which means I always strive to do the right thing every time. Not the right thing for me, but the right thing.

Anyone who thinks visualization is woo woo needs an ego check. It’s proven and entirely logical. However, you must visualize properly, including overcoming the hard parts.

13:53 I 100% agree. I would also add screwing big time. Seeing that the aftermath of most mistakes won't kill you, gives the confidence to dare. Who dares, wins.

Have a great story about the power of an outfit. I used to be in Pest Control sales sales we were trying to land a big account. In the final closing meeting the client wanted to meet the technician that was going to service all their accounts. Our technician was a reservist Navy chief and he had a meeting on base that same day therefore he was in his khaki uniform. The meeting was not going well myself the owner of the company we're on our heels trying to save the the sale. Our tech/chief was running late he was escorted into the conference room in full uniform ribbons dolphin pin the whole bit that immediately shifted the power dynamic in that meeting it was something to behold. I too was in the Navy always loved the enlisted Cracker Jack uniform pisses screamed history and tradition but I secretly loved the naval officer uniform because it just looked cool

I wish I could pull that look off. But not having served, I would never insult the uniform with my frame, even for Halloween. Thank you for your service.

I've been in 100s of technical and other meetings between 1988 and 2021. How a person dresses doesn't really matter, it's what comes out of their mouth that's important. In that time span I've seen people wearing suits and ties to tee shirts, sneakers and jeans.
