That's disgusting that anyone would kill an innocent person(or animal) but it's especially awful that a cop committed the murder.Even the chief was absolutely appalled that he had done this.

In the first case, it just goes to show that even though a person has significant 'suspect markers,' it does not always mean they are the culprit. It's good that the police did not allow what they knew about the son to blind them to the other evidence and that they were able to let go of the bias of discovering that there was a relatively unlikely suspect.

Yeah, but I think he realised it would have been too difficult breaking into the home -with the woman and her son around - and people who live in a trailer home after have nosy neighbours. I think he realised it was easier to meet, grab the cash, and kill her, as he thought he would never had been suspected. His downfall was not considering she would 'talk to her friends' about the 'attention' he was giving her, and then about their 'meeting'.

Almost as ridiculous as a story from another incident in which the guy claimed that a pair of anonymous strangers came to buy drugs from him with a stolen pistol as payment, asked where his wife was while they were waiting, and then after the deal they left and just randomly decided to go out to look for and then murder her when he mentioned she wasn't home. On the one hand I have nothing but almost zealots contempt for anyone that stood. On the other hand, I suppose it's better than nothing that they are that idiotic, so that they can at least be caught and punished for their misdeeds.

@@louiss3409 have you considered maybe the statistics are so precisely because of the reasons you mentioned? maybe its the exception and not the rule because its extremely hard to indict criminal officers, who's given the benefit of the doubt from beginning to end and perhaps the ones like this seem like anomalies because it was basically concrete obvious evidence toward their wrongdoing as opposed to the more typical nuanced circumstantial evidence thats usually found through digging, prodding and unbiased police work

@@louiss3409 you're missing the entire point actually. those statistics btw are nothing to brag about, that would be like if you walked into an airline and they were like "don't worry only 1% of the pilots are corrupt, basically nothing in statistics." the point is that we live in the real world, I know you think all cops are noble boy scouts , but they're just regular people; reactive and opportunistic. because of this, we need a system devoid of all the naive fantasies, that will apply the exact same scrutiny and procedure to any suspect regardless of their profession. those numbers should hit you as highly suspicious, we should expect the true statistical value to more closely resemble that of the population. police, just like everyone else will cheat if they think they can get away with It, that includes crimes big or small.
