appnp I don’t know really how it works, or doesn’t as the case may be, in your country, but in Canada, I received my voting card for the last federal election, and it listed all of the polling stations nearby to my address. And, I’m sure in this day and age there is a website or app available. You need to vote for your own sake, but this nonsense is affecting other countries too.

Cat-my state is doing all mail in ballots this time so I'm not worried for myself. Just areas where people are being denied mail-in ballots or where folks have to wait all day long in line to vote because they only have one polling place in their town or city. It is staggering. I do all my business by email. The only mail I get is unsolicited and one per month from the VA. The rest is tossed. The apartment has a trash bin in the mail room and everyday it's filled by the tenants. Who is going to miss them if we could sign away their delivery, certainly not the aging mail carrier.

I understand what is being said here. I also understand as a previous employee of the postal service that all of those things being mailed are what keep the postal service going. Have you ever been inside a post office? It doesn't quite work that way. (Besides, why do you think Dejoy demoted or transferred 2 dozen Post Office supervisory personnel? He wanted to be sure they would not be in a position to make it possible to determine the priority of mailed in ballots.) There is a reason why you normally get the most junk mail 1 day a week, every week, and on that same day almost no personal mail...that is all determined at a very high level in the USPS. My guess is, as a loyal Chump supporter, Dejoy will do everything possible to give mail in ballots the LOWEST possible priority at local post offices.

I think it best to get as many people as possible to distrust the system, so they will take their ballots straight to the address they are posted to. We all need to call our local officials and demand ballot drop-boxes at local town offices. We also should demand that no ballot is cancelled until it is proven invalid.

In my country we have a system where you can opt out for junk mail by placing a sticker on your mailbox. I did that years ago. Earlier this year our city council announced a trial where you have to opt-in for junk mail. If you want to receive it you have to put a sticker on your mailbox. With the opt-out system 80% of addresses in our apartment building received junk mail. With the opt-in system this went down to 35%. Which saves a lot of paper.

I work for the post office and it’s funny how no one cared about us until this election. And still with everyone talking about the mail it seems no one still has any idea what is going on with the postal service. Bill wants everyone to stop sending mail. Yet that’s how we make our money. And as far as throwing away sorting machines to make room for parcels to be shipped because that’s how we get paid mostly now because like bill pointed out use the internet to pay your bills instead of mailing your bills is exactly why the postoffice is shifting from letter sorting machines to machines to send parcels. To try and stay in business. But as soon as election is over no one will care about the post office again.

The problem with that idea is that the majority of my mail is inbound. Mostly bills or overwhelmingly junk mail. It's gotta be 10 to 1. I've voted via mail in California since the Obama administration and never had an issue but. I do live in Riverside County so this year I'm a little worried I might not get my ballot.

The mail is essentially a less scented version of the sewage system. Absolutely categorically necessary, people have to deal with it every minute. Some things come through it that really shouldn't. But moreover, if you had a bad sewage system the entire country, if not the world, would be distraught and angry in a heartbeat. Ironically, you need to flush the postal service of something clogging it right now before it becomes backlogged with soiled Trumps.
