I'm always surprised at how many people watch the show but complain about Bills "boomer takes". I don't agree with him on a lot of things but I'm still a fan. Expecting someone to agree with you on every topic is weird to me. This is one of the last shows on TV that values freedom of speech, enjoy it while it lasts.

Yea great people creating a false equivalenxy between liberal "extremism" like prefering a gay person play a gay character or trying a UBI for only gay people and republican extremism that wants to hang Mike Pence and create independent fascist states. The "normal" Americans that are just as pissed at the left wanting to "cancel" people for making rude comments and the right that wants to cancel American democracy, or what little of it we have left. Ill never understand why people think Bill Maher is just a common sense guy. He is catering to the "both sides" crowd that will likely stay home in november giving fascist enough powwr in certain states to challenge federal authprity to protect citizen's rights. We already see Texas GOP making it a platform position to literally succeed from the Union. Sure Maher will talk about the crazy, but he will spend equal time bitching about dwmocrats for being too "woke" as if that is an acceptable reason for people to stay home or vote red. Maher and everyone else catering to the "both sides" narrative are the reason the supreme court did what they did. Its why the GOP knows there will no consequences for their highly unpopular agenda and actions. Because no matter how many righrs they take away no matter how many elections they steal no matter how authoritarian res states get, there will always be "moderates" giving people arbitrary and often irrelevant examples of how the other side fighting against all that is just as bad.

"Despair and economic pressure is stopping birth rates, not environmental ideals" nope. they've been looking at this for decades. as countries get wealthier, they have fewer kids. as families get wealthier, they have fewer kids. Japan, Europe, and the US, just about the wealthiest regions int he world, have significant fertility problems now. as this trickles down to third world countries, their birth rates should be dropping. they have also suggested that hormones and other things we have been dumping into the environment has reduced sperm counts/ fertility. this might be true. idk if/how much that applies to countries outside the US. but generally speaking, the poorer you are, the more kids you have, because the kids work and contribute to family income. again, this has been studied. for decades. US fertility has been dropping since... the 70s or 80s.

Well not really, if this can reassure you. States make lots of money off of cigarettes, with taxes and also through a thing called the Master Settlement Agreement. In the latter, the more a state sells cigarettes, the more cigarette companies have to give them money. So banning nicotine vaping is not about health, it is about profits and money. Reducing nicotine in cigarettes to get smokers to smoke more thus buy more, is certainly not about health, but money & profits. Rest assured, the US government still doesn't give a sh%*t about anyone's health. They do care about making more money no matter the cost.

I was hoping for the graphics dept to let that picture of drumph's ass slowly get bigger until it took over the entire screen to drive home Bill's point of its atrociousness and to piss him off even more.

Lmao. Yes, that was great! I wonder if Trump was watching and if so, he probably launched a cheeseburger at the TV screen.
