You did amazing! The last time I saw an auctioneer cry like that, with passion, gravel on a bid and excitement was the day my mom and dad sold their cows for retirement. It brought me to tears! My wife was watching with me and thought I was crazy to get emotional over an auctioneer chant!! You could tell the the passion by the “ring man” to your right, you were in perfect unison spotting the bids in the crowd. Great job! Thanks for the trip down memory lane from 20+ years ago and many years before listening to an auctioneer cry all afternoon in sale barns around South Dakota. I got to witness greatness the day my folk retired….after their cattle sold, the sale barn emptied like the sale was over. It was early in the day, but they did their job and promoted our families cattle.

Jax, never change who you are for a job. If they have a problem with your decision to grow your hair and beard, it's THEIR problem not yours. I work in tech sales with long hair in a ponytail and a much grayer beard. The customers don't care as long as I know my stuff. Maybe some of the other industries need to catch up that societal norms for appearance are changing with the times.

Jax in my opinion you out shined all them boys hands down without a doubt im my mind. Youngsters got to witness something special that he'll remember for a lifetime, and that's tops in any manner you look at it. I say every chance you get. If I was you I'd be there. Because you definitely have what everyone enjoys hearing, and beards long hair doesn't matter I was a supervisor for large mechanical contractors all my life, and I had ponytail longer than you have, and although I had a beard or some sort the whole time. I dealt with owners of corporations judges in two different counties, because when you work on court houses in Texas they are the ones who approve change orders, and they come to the meetings by the handful. Ive dealt with the head DA"s, and usually whoever thier head investigators are, because they are the ones that authorized the security badges. Plus homeland security was always jacking with me trying to tell me i wasn't authorized to be where we were working, because I figured out they didn't have badges for access to everything I had. So I would call the Lt commander of TDOT aa he wss lead investigation officer for Collin County DA's office, and he'd raise heck with head of homeland security. So don't accept that horse manure about long hair and beards holding you back And yes at 68 I've still got long ponytail and long gray beard, and yes I raise cattle as well as go couple times month to different sale barns and none of the ole rednecks have ever messed with me seriously about my hair because loje like yourself I dress as they do, with the exception of i occasionally wear a high dollar pair of hiking boots because they are comfortable.

Great Job Jax. Although I am sure most of us would agree that "personal Appearance" should have nothing to do with your score, there is that stigma that not clean shaven people with long hair should not be held equal to others in competitions, which is wrong. However, we think you did great and you should be proud of how well you came across and the position you placed. Nice work sir!

You did a dam fine job at selling them feeders. Making the top ten and more than likely 4th and the only reason for that is you don't have an Auction mart or auction company pulling for you. If you were selling for a big barn for 3 months prior you would've been in the top 2. Awesome job for being away from it for a number of years. Fill us in with how many job offers come in the next couple months.

Well Jax, I'll tell you what, my hat is off to you, my friend! You may not be "put off" about getting knocked due to your "appearance," but it pisses me off to no end! I am a 62 year old, fat bellied, gray bearded, crippled up man and for SEVERAL YEARS now I have been the target of literally thousands of POS haters pointing their fingers at me saying, "If you'd just change this or that..." SCREW 'EM ALL! If you are happy with you, and Freddie is happy with you, and Mama and the rest of the clan are happy with you... Screw the rest of 'em! You are one TRULY BLESSED MAN!!!!! And for what it's worth, I've been to countless auctions in my life. My Dad loved auctions and started taking me to them when I was about 6 or so. He passed in March '09, and the last one we went to was in November '08. I have a fairly good ear for quality and/or the lack thereof, and you were much easier to listen to AND understand than at least 2 out of the top 3! Please do the world a favor and NEVER STOP TRYING!!!
