Can’t find my comment. But you told me to connect wires to the piston motor and to the battery. It’s not one I can just push in? Also just wanna be sure there aren’t certain pads I need. Still need the pads like in the video right? I believe I have the two pads. Been 8 years since I swapped my own pads. Usually have someone else do it so the electronic e brake someone mentioned threw me off. They made it seem like you need special brakes. Sorry I don’t do a lot of work on my cars as u can tell
@SolofixOrlando
@SolofixOrlando 3 жыл бұрын
You have to connect piston motor to battery in order to push it back. And brake pads is all same.

@Pineapple Yellow, yes it is clockwise but the angle of the video makes it look like counterclockwise. I'm a right handed and I'm using my right hand to turn so yes it is clockwise. Thank you for the question. Don't forget to subscribe

I tried to turn back the caliper with needle nose vice grips and with regular pliers and it won't move either way. Do I need to push them in with a big c-clamp?
@SolofixOrlando
@SolofixOrlando 2 жыл бұрын
It is pretty tight. If anything you can rent the caliper proper tool and use that, much easier
@roycrowe8072
@roycrowe8072 2 жыл бұрын
@@SolofixOrlando Thanks for all your help. Your video was very helpful. I learned from a couple other youtubes a few more pointers that helped me get the caliper collapsed without renting the tool. Namely, take the top off the master cylinder to relieve any back pressure, release the emergency brake, put a bit of lube under the rubber seal on the caliper and most importantly, push in hard on the caliper as you turn it. In the end I got it done.

Do you not bleed the brakes?
@SolofixOrlando
@SolofixOrlando 3 жыл бұрын
In my case I did not open the break line. I only push back the caliper so if u see at the end I pressed on the break pedal to return the caliper. So no need to bleed the break because no air went in the break line. Hope that answers your question.
